221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin without Altcoin ? on: December 29, 2016, 10:00:37 PM
Most altcoins are garbage, but there are a few that did advance the blockchain technologies and made us better understanding the cybercurrency. Yet none will ever getting close to bitcoin.
Some of them only but it's easy to spot the legitimate altcoins, you have to make sure you invest in a big funded ICO and altcoins that has a good roadmap.
Big funded ICO doesn't really guarantee that the project will be a success and bring you decent profit in the future. I've seen so damn many ICO project out there which could only gain about less than hundreds of bitcoin but the project was successfully launched and even after the ICO were done the price of those coins still rising. It's depend on how the devs could make up its popularity
Well, ICO is not always trustworthy, some of them even turn into real scammers and steal all the money of investors. You need to have a decent knowledge about the blockchain system, altcoin develop in order to find a successful ICO. Yeah, I have seen many projects which only need a small fund but still can beat many other cryptos

ICOs are in most cases for the "devs" to grab easy money. The "roadmap" stuff seldom finished, and raised fund usage is a mystery. At some point the devs will disappear one by one, quietly, leaving investors a big loss.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "We got hacked" coming ! on: December 29, 2016, 09:57:36 PM
Mt Gox was a mystery. I think it is hacked from inside. Even before the big hack happening, there are numerous small accounts get hacked and bitcoins from these accounts are transferred away. I am sure some employees did these, if not with the company itself.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: December 29, 2016, 09:55:14 PM
Bitcoin as only having 21 mil coins, can't be used as a major currency, but it is the defacto gold in the cyberspace. It is deflationary, and will increase in value when more people get used to it.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 29, 2016, 09:30:32 PM
Its more like 0.5BTC, at current price of 1000USD.

With 100 kilobytes, you can make about 100 transactions of 512 bytes each.

Today, if you have 0.5BTC, you can make about 10 transactions before your fees are too low to be processed.

What do you mean? Please elaborate on that, I don't see how you got that number. Did you mean 100 transactions? Even then, this number looks strange... taking into account 0.0001 "normal" btc tx fee.

When doing "express" transfer you may need 0.0005 bitcoin as the fee, so 0.5 BTC is for 1000 transfers. With that, the byteball 100KB = 0.0001 - 0.0005 BTC. Which is 1GB = 1BTC, lol.

Interesting... what does the DAC means?

Is extreme a derived coin from moonstone? I am getting confused with all these coins, lol
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoingo UNmoderated thread-risky scam on: December 29, 2016, 07:39:22 AM

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1666821.msg16888540#msg16888540

Now he is fucking back and beg for money again? Pre-ico without escrow? I fuck your scammer's asshole

Thanks for the heads up dude, yeh too many of these scams popping up, good looking out Smiley

Too many scams, especially those launched by newbies, all look like some sort of high school student projects to me. They just want quick money, scam and cheat.
227  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-27] Halving History Suggests Bitcoin’s Price Is Heading for $11,210 on: December 29, 2016, 06:59:58 AM
I like this news, lol, will buy more bitcoins for sure. It is the future gold.

Seriously, going to $10,000+ for bitcoin is totally possible, but I guess it will probably take at least 5 years.
228  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-28] Why Bitcoin’s Triumphant $15B Market is Just Getting Started on: December 29, 2016, 06:46:19 AM
Bitcoin has become the cybergold and it will hold and increase the value. It is an excellent assets against inflation and financial turmoil. Its trend is clearly upward in the long run.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] EDGELESS - New Era Of Casino (0% Edge and Full Transparency) on: December 29, 2016, 06:39:51 AM
Too many ico scams. Sounds like easy money and so many want to try. They use nice graphics, complicated "bonus" and kickbacks, to cheat "investor" into it. Lol.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 28, 2016, 10:59:54 PM
To prevent trading and price speculation discussion in this thread, I created an own thread for such topics on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1731890.msg17329054#msg17329054

Feel free to participate.

0.0275 is a marketcap of around $ 2.5 million. So if u think, the byteball is a billion dollar market, so you know, where we stand!

Greetz
Steve

The price already collapsed to 0.0015 BTC. This is so miniscule market at the moment that wild swings are to be expected.
its 0.015 BTC at cryptox.pl

Some people are dumping... price was cut almost half in 30 mins at cryptox.pl, now trading at 0.008 BTC/GByte.

Wondering who are dumping? maybe those from ICO funds?
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💫 Sector - Early Bird Slots Available  - Low Stake Rate - No Splits 💫 on: December 28, 2016, 10:56:26 PM

Yes another newbie started ICO thread, when I read through it, no new tech whatsoever seen, sounds like a quick and easy money. 50% back to lure more people rush in, to give money to dev, lol.

233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 28, 2016, 06:42:12 AM
i was trying to deposit my byteballs from my android phone to cryptox.pl
i sent little amount and it worked like a charm. then i tried to deposit more using the same deposit address. now it tells me "can't send payment. there are no funded addresses".

what should i do?

thank you

I saw this when I transfer between the addresses. Usually you have to wait a bit before your address the block is finalized, then you can send as usual. Usually wait for 10-15 mins before trying should be OK.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Byteballs ::: Buying & Selling & Trading on: December 28, 2016, 06:39:21 AM
I recommend to use cryptox.pl to sell and but GBYTES.
https://cryptox.pl/ this is first market with GBYTE/BTC pair!

Anyone used this exchange? I created an account and try to deposit some GBytes, but the receiving address is displayed as a QR barcode, it does not display the actual address, so I can't even copy paste the address to my wallet...
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need ebay like site to promote bitcoin on: December 28, 2016, 12:03:42 AM
Of course with ebay, amazon etc sites accept bitcoin will be a big boost for bitcoin, only not on the circulation side but also create awareness of the bitcoin that more and more people will get interested and participate in the bitcoin.
236  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: December 28, 2016, 12:01:29 AM
It's clearly in an uptrend, and with more people get into bitcoin, bitcoin price will appreciate further. Essentially, I think bitcoin is similar to gold, but it is still at its initial ascending phase, so it has a better chance than gold at this time.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 27, 2016, 11:40:58 PM
...
As we can see with only $10 billion market cap (less than the current market cap of bitcoin) storing 1 MB file in the Byteball system becomes expensive ($10). It shows that the design of the system (1 quadrillion cap of internal currency) precludes any widespread use case regarding data storing. Claiming that the system is scalable with regard to data storage is therefore unsubstantiated.

Please check if I did these calculations correctly as this looks like a rather serious issue.

Maybe you are right. But as I understand, byteball is not primarily intended as a mass storage:
•   page 33 Assets
•   page 37 Bank issued assets
•   page 38 None-financial-assets
•   page 38 Bonds
•   page 39 Commodity Bonds
•   page 40 Funds
•   page 40 Settlements
•   page 40 private payment
•   page 42 Fixed denominations assets
•   Page 45 Arbitrary structured data  (..this message type can be used to post Ethereum code for the subset..)
•   Page 45 Text
•   page 46 Voting
•   page 47 private messaging
Byteball is the wet dream of every banker. It is the Swiss army knife for the financial industry and / or Business economist, Accountant and Tax Consultant..
It‘s more like a very safe, secure, indestructible, tamper-proof paper. You can also use it to write books or letters, but it's actually too smart and expensive for this kind of use. But as tony explains (page 45 Text) you can store hashes.. - For me it looks flexible enough..

Nice summary, it will be great to see some applications built on top of byteballs, like those from Ethereum, using smart contracts. This will validate the concept and infrastructure provided by the byteballs, and will encourage more apps being built.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 27, 2016, 11:32:16 PM
It's a nice coin, but I see witness could be a potential problem. If someone uses a lot puppet users and create gradually his own witnesses, over the time he may be able to control the network once he gain more than half of the witnesses.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 27, 2016, 07:03:55 AM
Do we have exchanges yet? It is a great coin I hope the exchanges will be ready soon.

It will be interesting to see more applications developed on top of it, as in the case of Ethereum.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BANKCOIN GLOBAL -YOUR WORLD YOUR MONEY- on: December 25, 2016, 07:40:34 AM
Useless coin, this one will never be worthy. What about bankbankbankbank coin this name was becoming the crap.
There is two scenarios.
1. Pump and dump
2. So crap.
 Grin Grin Grin

Sure it will be a pump and dump. A newbie started project, no credibility, nothing new, and then ICO with quick and easy money. I don't really see the investors are soooo stupid, maybe the newbie dev is, lol.
