Can we please stop this mis-information, people saying that there was nothing handed over to Cashmen it is ABSOLUTE NONSENSE. During my time in cloak we built: Exchange anon. In wallet trading. The first versions of proof of stake anonymity that I labelled PoSA. All of that was available for Cashman. If you check the original thread you'll see that public and closed public testing took place for PoSA during my time running Cloak, so to say there was nothing is just totally misleading people. The only thing that wasn't correct was my developer telling me there was work completed for the latest version of PoSA which it turned out that wasn't the case. So please let's not overlook the fact the original team did a hell of a lot for that coin. Cloak didn't get to where it was on 2014 on thin air, you just have to go back and read through some of the original thread to see that. The fact it was pump and dumped by "whoever" back then was also totally out of the original Cloak teams hand. @Alty, do you have conscience? After all this scam and shit what you did with CLOAK and all projects before(you know which i mean) you are still using you dirty scammer nick and you are still proud of this scam? I have been with Cloak since the beginning and saw all my investment go to practically nothing (around 35,000 USD). It was a very humbling experience but I stayed on because I believed in the product. Not soon after did we have the gut wrenching announcement by the Dagger that he was throwing in the towel.
2 years on, with all the information out there, we can pretty much sum up that Alty and Dagger either 1: got in way over their heads, or 2: It was all a money making scam. We can debate all we want but what happened....happened. On top of all of this we now know that there was a HUGE pump and dump scheme run by Bobsurplus. There was a great read about it written by someone who was in on the PnD scheme and I can't be bothered finding it but it is on Google.
Now came the White Knight, Cashmen. He took over the product and realized THERE WASN'T EVEN A PRODUCT TO BE HAD! In short, Cloak Coin was nothing. However, from the ground up him and his team worked extremely hard over the next year and a half creating a (new) Cloak that was worthy of the big boys.
After all this, since the biggest release ever for Cloak (POSA3), it had a small rise and a steady fall to what it is now. It is steady between 10-20 Satoshi. Unfortunately, I personally believe that this is what Cloak is 100% worth. Not the product, but the name.
The Cloak story is stuff of legend among the Crypto community. Even new comers in the community know about the story of Cloak. So the absolute main problem we have here is the name, CLOAK. There are many brands/products that failed only because of some bad publicity. And we have A LOT of bad publicity from the past.
What we have now is a Coin that is just as good as the top contenders such as Dash, Dark, ETH, to name a few. However, they are in the 100's of thousands, if not millions of satoshi and we are stuck at 10,000. It's hard to give up an emotional commitment to something but it is time to do that very thing.
It is time we give up on Cloak and re-brand it into something it deserves to be. The new Cloak team got nothing from the old team except the name....CLOAK. In saying that, It should not be called Cloak anymore because Cloak is exactly that, Nothing (the name I mean).
In conclusion, Cloak will never rise to anything more than what it is today if we keep the tarnished name it is. Please read this with an open mind and not with your heart and hopefully you will see some truth in what I say. It took me 2 years to finally put this into words but I believe this to be the truth.
Change the Name and let's watch this coin grow to the size it deserves to be.

To Change or Not to Change the Rise Block Reward?
After concerns that the block reward is too high there is a chance to lower it if a large majority think it's worth doing.
To start with we'll run a yes or no poll for 2 weeks, if the Yes vote wins, we'll look at what the block reward should be changed to in round 2 of voting. If the majority is a No vote then block reward will remain the same.
Rise team would like to know what the community thinks about the current block reward.
Over the next 5 years Rise has the following rate of inflation.
Year 1: 15 RISE per block, 115,768,000 Total coins with 15.77% annual inflation rate
Year 2: 12 RISE per block, 128,382,400 Total coins with 10.90% annual inflation rate
Year 3: 9 RISE per block, 137,843,200 Total coins with 7.37% annual inflation rate
Year 4: 6 RISE per block, 144,150,400 Total coins with 4.58% annual inflation rate
Year 5: 3 RISE per block, 147,304,000 Total coins with 2.19% annual inflation rate
Year 6+: 0 Rise per block and therefore 0% inflation.
At the end of the the fith year there is 0 block reward and transaction fees alone will sustain the network.
Please vote Yes or No if you would like to see the Rise inflation rate changed!

Just to let everyone know, Alty & the rest of the team reversed a busted withdrawal from my ICO account to a Trex a/c.
Does anyone know how long it takes for a withdrawal to be sent to the web wallet?
How are they able to reverse a transaction? Are you sure they did that? looking for the same information if possible I was glad to help Nxtblg out, but his explanation of what happened is incorrect. There was no reversal of transaction, we cannot do that. What happened was when he withdrew the first time, he did it when we had a fork happening a couple of days ago. So his coins never left the correct chain, and the coins he withdrew on the fork never showed up. I simply sent him the coins from the original chain, which were his and had never moved to begin with. |

The former biggest whale sold his 6M rise and caused this dump. It is time for us to buy cheap RISE now, we will shine and easily hit 10k after listing on poloniex. What do you think would be the new floor? 24H low 1k sat must be the floor, because that whales dumped his coins, and other whales including me prefer holding several months, let's see what will happen. If signature campaigns and translation bountrys are still being handed out then i doubt this is the floor, many more people from the campaigns are bound to dump straight away for easy profit as soon as they can, i will be holding off buying any untill all these people have sold of their free coins. At these prices the signature and translation campaigns are worth about 5 to 6 btc in TOTAL. So even if they were to dump all at the same time (which is unlikely) it's not going to crash the price too much. |
