Bancor is like a girl friend that likes to take it slow. No quickies!  Grin

Do not be scared. Do not sell your BNT tokens. Let the whales climb down the 120k ETH buy back wall (at ICO price of 0.01 ETH) themselves. Hold long term. Cool

Seriously that is your advise. BNT is trading at 3.19$ currently. ICO price was 3.92$. And everyone is whale in case of BNT, everyone got BNT tokens during crowdale, so there is no demand of any kind. I don't see, how it will go up in long term?

The ICO price was 0.01 ETH (regardless of what 0.01 ETH is or was worth as expressed in USD, BTC or what have you). Not everyone who got in at the ICO price of 0.01 ETH is a whale. A whale is in reference to someone who holds enough BNT in order to move the market in any direction he/she/it deems fit. To say there is no demand of any kind is a lie. If that was the case, no transactions involving BNT would take place at the moment. The price per BNT will increase as more and more people start to make use of Bancor's products and services - as adoption grows. However, to expect all to be on-board or all value to be fully realized in day 1 is a pipe dream. Bancor is not a get quick rich scheme.

"BNT is trading at 3.19$ currently. ICO price was 3.92$" - So who in his right mind would sell now? To make an instant loss of $0.73 cents per BNT as expressed in USD so that the whales can benefit? Fuck it!

The ico was overvalued thats why price is sinking and not growing. The team thinks only about themselves. Then why the cap was so large ? Profit greed
Stop spreading FUD! The price is higher than the ICO price of 0.01 ETH.

If you were going to buy ETH with fiat in order to exchange for BNT - as I was going to do - then the price is cheaper than ICO.

All ICOs (even the good ones) are over-hyped at the moment. Look at BAT, for another example.
I've bought some BNT today. It may fall further, but I expect it to rise long-term. I missed the Status ICO too, but I will set up a buy order at below ICO price for that one as well, just in case.

Yes, because the price of ETH has dropped. However, the current BNT price as expressed in ETH is not lower than the ICO price. It is higher.

Most people don't even know about the price posted at Bancor's site, they just see the price sinking at Bittrex and they panic and sell asap, and everybody else sees that and think that Bancor may not be a good project when people is dumping tokens like crazy, and that hurts this project's image, which is not good for the team nor for investors.

I thought ico price was 0.01? its still higher than ico price right? and it has a buyback reserve at ico price, so its pretty safe. Plus the more coins that use it as a reserve the higher its price will be, give it time.

correct me if i am wrong.

No, it was 0.14 BTC for 100 BNT because ETH was 0.14 BTC back then.
And 1 ETH = 100 BNT is ICO price. It's under the ICO price now.

You might be personally under water on the back of a bad BTC to ETH exchange rate, but the current price of BNT is not under the ICO price of 0.01 ETH.

I would be great if Veritaseum could build a user and VERI friendly, decentralized exchange of our own so to speak.  Cool

Well, I wrote a piece for Hacked.com before the ICO and said all you were getting for your money was 40 odd lines of code nothing more and not even a high-level code.I don't own any and never will so I will not spend time on this thread putting it down or rehashing the article but anybody that has any sense will see through this debacle straight away.

Response to “Bancor is Flawed”: https://blog.bancor.network/this-analysis-of-bancor-is-flawed-18ab8a000d43

"You continue to ignore the 60K+ lines of code which power our live-on-mainnet bounty program and public alpha where users can create smart tokens by answering a few questions via a chatbot and utilize a comprehensive webapp compatible with desktop and mobile browsers.

After 20 years of software development across different startups, we simply don’t share your view that this work is worthless. There are very few Ethereum apps that are as easy to use, and just like Coinbase made Bitcoin/Ether accessible to millions, we plan to do the same for user-generated tokens (at first on Ethereum), and we believe that the prospects of that use-case are incredibly exciting.

Also, Martin Koppelmann, the CEO of Gnosis, tweeted a reply to you that their core smart contract codebase is not much bigger, and that it is a good practice to keep the smart contract functionality to a minimum. We do not agree with your method of measuring the value of a protocol by the number of lines in the Solidity code of the smart contract as valid or rational. It would absurdly suggest that solutions such as Coinbase do not add value to the Bitcoin protocol. Or that enormous code bases are somehow inherently more valuable. We encourage you to try out the demo of the product which has won awards at every blockchain competition it was demonstrated at around the world. The idea here is to make token creation as simple as uploading a video to YouTube. We think this is a profound opportunity for the crowd to participate in value creation, beyond content."

There is no doubt some people will be jealous of Bancor ICO success, but I could remember vividly warning like this pop up after DAO ICO and was taken with pinch of salt, we all know how that ends, it will be fool of Bancor team to rubbish the prof. concerns

Read Bancor's response to the professor. They rubbish his FUD through facts and facts alone. Just because the DAO team made mistakes by ignoring real concerns, doesn't  mean that the Bancor team is doing the same. This is why the Bancor team took the time to provide a lengthy response to the professor's FUD. They also delayed the release of the tokens to make sure that they don't make the same mistakes as DAO. It is important to compare apples to apples here. It is also important to understand that there are many bought and paid for professors out there.

P.S. The moment someones says "professor" or "expert," my inner self immediately, rightly or wrongly, sends out an asshole alert!

It is not news. Bancor already responded to the professor's FUD.

Buy when everyone else want to sell. Just got another 1000 tokens Grin. This will be a long term project.

That's the spirit! Excellent strategy.  Wink

i sell guys , near ico price .... to risk

You're an "in and out" person. Short term pleasure in expense of long term gain.  Grin

I guess most of the people right now considering ICOs as a short term profit but actually it shouldn't be this way.
Investing into ICO is first of all believing in the project and a long term investment with 200-20000% of return.

Personally I always buy in because I believe in the long term prospects of a project. However, when the price justifies it, I always try to get my initial investment back as soon as possible. I then hold the rest long term and use the proceeds of my initial investment to get involved in more projects. Using this strategy it is possible to build up a sizable portfolio, while profiting in the process. Cool

Thanks for useful strategy. I like it  Wink

You're welcome. I hope it works for you. Like almost everything else in life, it is all about maintaining some form of balance.  Cool

the price of BNT keep going down, should i hold or sell it?

The price is closely correlated to the USD price of 0.01 ETH. If you need the money now, sell, otherwise try to hold onto it. Wink

I think that these correlation with ETH will only endure for more one month, them the price will go up

Yes, it might very well do that or even sooner.  Wink

Guys, lets get VERI onto bittrex. Do your part in submitting a support desk ticket requesting VERI!

Thanks. I've tried, but got stuck at this portion: "Enhanced Verified Account"

VERI interesting!

Besides the link to the video and praise for Dex, they probably didn't like or get your "VERI interesting" joke. In my experience, they don't have a sense of humor at all. They deem a sense of humor to be off-topic. In fact, anything that shows that one is human is off-topic. lol

I'm still not seeing this. I log in with messenger and it just takes me to messenger. When I created an account with Bancor to claim bounty coins I initially signed up with my email and a password. I did not with these 3rd party services and hence my account is not associated with these 3rd party services.

The communication from Bancor is shockingly bad.

Anyone having issues logging in from this page?

https://app.bancor.network

I only see an option to login with Messenger/Telegram/Wechat but this is not how I had created an account initially, so I can't login.

You have to click one of the options Messenger/Telegram/Wechat to login. First you should have an account. Then you will be fine to login.

Why don't you take it up with them via private message? What is there that we can do about it?
