Huh

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3382897.0
こちらのANNスレッドは明らかに機械翻訳ですね。
「それは不和チャンネル上のランダムな飛行機になります」
Discordを通じてAirdropを行うということでしょうか・・・
コイン自体の名前まで変な和訳になっています。

While the forum rule does not seem to require a specific form of quote for external sources, I think the best way is to use "quote" for the external source, showing the link at the beginning, which was discussed in this thread by Jet Cash, and below is an example by LoyceV with slight modifications.  It is simple, just include the URL right after "quote author=".

~snip~
Real example:
“Segregated witness (segwit) is a soft fork that, if activated, will allow transaction-producing software to separate (segregate) transaction signatures (witnesses) from the part of the data in a transaction that is covered by the txid.”

Limitation: it doesn't work if the link is about twice as long as the one above.
283  Other / Meta / Re: Initial sMerit for every rank? on: April 21, 2018, 06:13:58 AM
Thanks OP for unlocking the thread, I wanted to quote the formula.

How can I see my sMerit?
Clicking on the > Merit> will take you to your current sMerit statistics Wink

It would be good if theymos could implement an easier way to check sMerit balance -- on January I suggested one way, which I believe the simplest to implement and quote below.  Of course one can check sMerit balance in the current system, but it could be easier to check.  The caveat is that the sMerit balance should be checkable only for the account holder him/herself to prevent people to rush to sMerit rich users, though one can in principle estimate any user's sMerit balance using the data except source sMerits.

284  Other / Meta / Re: This guy spamming giveway mostly on all local boards! Is it allowed? on: April 19, 2018, 01:41:30 AM
Strictly speaking, the forum rule No. 15 prohibits the on-forum giveaway, but not the off-forum ones, see the quotation below.  However creating fake ANN threads is surely not allowed.

15. No on-forum altcoin giveaways. [6][e]
~snip~
15.
<...>
Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

WTF, why I can't do it?
Your code is correct, but Newbies cannot embed images.  You can just wait until you become Jr. Member, or donate and become Copper Member to unlock it:

Q: I can't post / embed an image and I'm a newbie. Why?
A: Embedded images have been disabled for newbies due to abuse (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1172918.0). You'll be able to post images when you become Jr. Member or if you pay a small fee. See more: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104.0.
286  Other / Meta / Re: What is the next level after Legendary on: April 18, 2018, 01:58:01 PM
The next rank is called theymos -- it requires about 3000 Activity and 3000 Merit.
287  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does bitcoin mining work? on: April 18, 2018, 09:04:19 AM
In my opinion, every ten minutes or so mining computers collect a few hundred pending bitcoin transactions (a “block”) and turn them into a mathematical puzzle. The miner who found the solution gets 25 bitcoins as a reward, but only after another 99 blocks have been added to the ledger.

You are copy-pasting the above post by Heyyyrenz:

Every ten minutes or so mining computers collect a few hundred pending bitcoin transactions or we may say a block and turn them into a mathematical puzzle. Then the other miners will check wheter the sender of the funds has the right to spend the money.

which may be regarded as a plagiarism, resulting in red trust as it is not allowed in the forum.  You may want to use "quote" when you use some sentences in other users' posts.
288  Other / Meta / Re: Initial sMerit for every rank? on: April 18, 2018, 08:00:57 AM
sncc is correct. I only had 22 as a Sr. Member because I was not active for the whole of last year. theymos hasn't made the data public so nobody knows exactly how many sMerit anyone else received.
I see, the Sr. Member I mentioned registered here on March last year.  He posted 583 posts last year and must have earned most of the Activity, so I assume 26 is more or less close to the upper bound for Sr. Member.

Instead, the total number of initial sMerit is disclosed as about 600k by the theymos' reply below:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsend

In less than a day we already sent more sMerits (11k+) than sources will gain in a month (~8k). Anyone knows how many sMerits have been distributed to existing members?

About 600k.
289  Other / Meta / Re: Initial sMerit for every rank? on: April 18, 2018, 07:34:19 AM
While specific formula is not given, theymos wrote that the initial sMerit is not solely determined by rank, but determined by rank and activity points obtained in the last year.
The spendable amount was calculated based on your current rank and the number of activity points you earned in the last year. A Legendary member who hasn't posted in the last year would still be Legendary, but would not have any spendable merit.
I know a Sr. Member who had 26 initial sMerit when the merit system was introduced, but it fluctuates for each user.
290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit system and levelling up to Member on: April 18, 2018, 07:12:58 AM
You are doing right thing, if you continue it and help forum members, even without expecting merit, you will be eventually rewarded.  Good luck.
291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: upload a photo on bitcointalk on: April 18, 2018, 06:38:50 AM
Code:
[img]http://file:///C:/Users/nguyen/Documents/happy.jpg[/img]
First you need to upload your image to uploader such as imgur.com, then use the link to the image.  And you can always test it by clicking "Preview" without posting it.
292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: can we change names on: April 18, 2018, 06:33:43 AM
If you donate 50 BTC, you can change your user name, see below.  Since your rank is Jr. Member, it would be easier to start new account with new user name which you prefer.

Q: I want to change my forum username. What should I do?
A: You can either donate 50 BTC to become a VIP or PM theymos asking to change your username (although he rarely accepts such requests nowadays).

This is interesting, I can imagine how it looked in the old days.  It is simple and clean, though I cannot distinguish pinned thread and others.
295  Other / Meta / Re: someone sell the merit&account, no admin to investigate it? on: April 17, 2018, 01:09:04 AM
Also, one dude left his "contact" on "qq 1738692247 WeChat: yxh971001", wechat I suppose? So he just might be using the same username here and there.
As far as I know QQ and WeChat are Chinese version messenger app, so with those IDs one could identify the user but they will exchange info on other bitcointalk accounts with which merit would be transferred, so it is difficult to keep track with those transactions.
296  Other / Meta / Re: Bumping ico-bounty service allowed? 68 accounts involved so far. Need DT on: April 17, 2018, 12:56:26 AM
The number of ICO bumping accounts has been increasing.  I reported some of them here:

297  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, why are you hoarding your sMerit? on: April 14, 2018, 03:29:03 PM
Hmm, I tested my account but the calculations are not correct,
http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/profile.aspx?p=iasenko

It says that I have at least 36 smerit but I actually have only 21.

I'll upload a screenshot for proof when I get to my PC Smiley

How can that be?

You have received 175 merit means you have 87 sMerit, of which you have spent 51.
[snip]
iasenko's merit score was actually 152 (now 154 after your 2 merits), not 175, so something is wrong for the counting of received merits.  What I do not understand is that I think iasenko's sMerit balance was 152 / 2 - 51 = 25, but he wrote he had 21.
298  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, why are you hoarding your sMerit? on: April 14, 2018, 03:01:49 PM
While 777 sMerits (btw lucky number!) must be the largest number, it seems many people including me are hoarding sMerits more or less and cannot find appropriate good quality posts, so theymos may be going to introduce the system for decaying sMerits and then magnifying past Merits mentioned in the quote below.  The strategy is similar to magnify the amount of sMerits for each submission in the future suggested by Vod above, but in this way theymos was planning to magnify the Merits already sent in the past as well.  It seems this could be a resolution for the current situation.

[snip]
In addition to continuously adding more sources, if things could still use improvement in this regard in a couple of months, I may do something like decay old sMerit and unused source merit and randomly redistribute the decayed merit. How the random distribution would work would magnify past merit -- so perhaps you would get an increased chance of winning extra merit for every post you've made which has at least 1 merit, but certainly you would not get any extra merit if none of your posts was ever merited.
[snip]

Hmm, I tested my account but the calculations are not correct,
http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/profile.aspx?p=iasenko

It says that I have at least 36 smerit but I actually have only 21.
[snip]

It looks like your numbers might be a bit out of date.
[snip]
There is a link for "Update this profile now" at the left top, but after update it still says "Has at least 36 sMerit available".  It seems that "Has received 175 merit" is wrong for some reason as your Merit score is actually 152.
299  Other / Meta / Re: Are there any banners for Bitcoin Talk? on: April 13, 2018, 02:03:10 PM
Interesting Grin  I am not sure if there are official banners already, and a google search of "bitcointalk banner" did not give a good result.  Below is a google search result of "bitcointalk logo":

https://i.imgur.com/95AilOv

It seems they are unofficial ones.  I like something like the fourth one but wanted to see the tilted BTC so if I give it a try to make the banner:

自分はコミュニティやアカウントの管理やアナウンススレッドのデザイン作成などを主にやってます。
これはBitcointalk内の話と思いますが、ANNスレッドで募集されているのでしょうか。どのようにして請け負うのか気になります。
またアカウントの管理と言いますと、***Coinなどの特定の通貨専用に作られたアカウントを使ってANNスレッドの管理をするといったような内容でしょうか。
