I think this coin might tempt me to come back to the altcoin scene again. I like the fact the devs take accountability and putting it all on the line with there identities. For that you already have a lot of my respect!

During Sterlingcoin development we have discussed having an Airdrop to UK citizens and thought this unfair to all others.
We then brainstormed the Spacedrop so that it caters for all and still gives people outside the UK area the possibility to receive 50 SLG, the same amount as a UK citizen.
We then furthered this so that once the Spacedrop balance hits 0 and closes the Sterlingcoin Faucet will then open and offer free coins each hour to anyone and everyone.
The fees generated from the mining pool to fund the Sterlingcoin Faucet.
Very fair! Will be watching this one. After having been scammed by the dev of a previous coin I was involved with I have finally found the appetite to return to look at the altcoin market again. I said to myself I would never return and stick with bitcoin but I am going to risk it again. You guys better be Legit!!!! |

Finally a alt worth registering on BTCtalk for. My parents loved Sterling Silver so I grew up with it all my life... so this resonates back to my childhood. Great name for a coin btw!

Will there be an exchange on launch? I don't mine so will need to buy some up. Sterlingcoin will have exchange(s) services at launch. This looks very good! Only just noticed you also launching with a merchant. iOS wallet will be a first for any X coin if I am not mistaken? |

I would just like to add we had good intentions for the premine but it would of taken time to implement and with all the scam coins that have been released in the past we came to the realization that the best thing for iCoin would be just to get rid of the premine because understandably everyone is too scared to trade and invest when they see this massive premine that could potentially be dumped out
at anytime like other people have mentioned in this ANN.
This is not the way we wanted to do it but we know it's the best way to finally get iCoin moving forward so the community can invest with confidence.
Viperbass what control do you have over IPO and the distribution? I think once premine goes then everyone must help iCoin get further not just the team. Hopefully the IPO work out well. I don't have any control over the IPO or distribution that comes after, everyone in the community knows exactly what I know as mentioned by captainhook earlier in the ANN. All we know for sure is that the premine didn't look good to people wanting to invest in iCoin and like bigridg7 said in previous posts after the conference that we have to get rid of the premine if iCoin is to be taken seriously. Basically further then that the team could see our efforts were in vain because no matter what good was done the premine was always a issue and with no premine you don't need a team because everyone that owns iCoin is the team. |

We urge all investors who want to see iCoin go to the next step to partake in it. Once the premine is gone then skies the limit. Hey guys, haven't posted here in a couple weeks. It's great to see some core community involvement and people wanting to step up to the plate. The conference was a great experience and a fantastic opportunity to put iCoin on the map. Although the crowd was small (200-300 attendees) there were some great pundits and spectators alike, and the videos of each talk will be available soon to promote at your discretion! The rumors are true, haha! I have stepped away from a daily active role for iCoin. I own 2 traditional businesses, one of which involves me leading a group of 550+ people, and at the end of the day I have to keep up with my responsibilities and put food on the table. Here are the facts - - I still own and actively invest in iCoin, purchasing up more here and there. - I still have a grand interest in seeing iCoin succeed. - The name and branding needs to stay congruent. It's fantastic the way it is If a new designer is brought on, he needs to replicate the current design. CaptainHook will take more of an active role. We have spoken to him on a weekly basis. The premine DOES need to be spent, preferably in the next 4-6 months. If it is not, iCoin will eventually fail. Plain and simple. That's arguably been one of the only detriments towards iCoin's growth. Once a larger percentage is spent, this currency will explode. I say that coming from experience on behalf of seeing other currencies at the Crypto Currency Convention. They are seeing greater gains and success than iCoin, but we smoke them in practically all aspects, especially marketability which is most important in terms of long-term adoption. I have communicated to a great extent with Jason (TeamiCoin) about what needs to take place for the success of iCoin to come to fruition, and in a nutshell it involves more of the community stepping up to the plate and getting creative, and speaking with people outside of the btctalk forums. Spending the premine and merchant acquisition should be paramount to other activities as well. I'm going to post the YouTube video for the new iCoin infographic commercial (which is fantastic btw) and I also have some spare iCoin for whoever wants to promote that heavily. I'll be acting as more of an outside consultant for iCoin at this time, and plan to check back on all progress every week or so! Cheers! I am testing both X11 and Scrypt-N now, so far X11 is quite good as power and heat very effective, as well as new setting for ICN. In next update:
- Reward will be reduced dramatically.
- Faster havles time.
- Include a chat system in wallet so we can discuss directly.
- New algorithm.
- Plan to IPO 100% premined coin.
Bad news:
Our designer is going to resign soon, i am looking for a designer to design new set of ICN logos/icons/web which will be included in next update.
Excellent news, although the designer is going to resign, this can be a good thing sometimes. New people mean new, fresh ideas.I personal opinion of the logo is that it rocks but im sure there is work to be done. I agree with what Lord has said above. This leaves openings for passionate people that want to get involved in a great project like iCoin. |

Hey Guys, Just a update from my side, Captainhook will be taking back more control of iCoin and rightfully so since he is the creator, I have sent him back the remaining premine I had. So for any ideas, promotions, marketing please pm him. I will still be helping when captainhook needs me to run a promotion for iCoin but I won't be taking a active role like I used too. iCoin has come a extremely long way since we started and captainhook has plans to take the coin to the next level and that requires a more dedicated and larger team to push things forward. At this stage the community really needs to step in and help and I think everyone has been relying on the iCoin team to do everything which is not what cryptos are about, I know people like Lord P have been doing there part to promote iCoin and it definitely needs more of that. Just so you know for the last 2-3 months I have been doing everything without getting payed anything from the premine besides the initial amount Captain gave me to join the team. This isn't because he didn't want to offer me more but because I wanted to do it and invested my own money into buying iCoin which I will keep for a long long time still. Has the presentation been released, would like to hear from the speaker at the event to see how iCoin was received.

Yes , please be careful using cryptorush and don't do large trades on it if you do insist on using the exchange. As Captain has mentioned X11 will be the better option to back when the change is needed. |

X11 or groestl are both great. Groestl is even more efficient than X11 and allows some good cpu mining and is old gpus and nvidia friendly, kind of universal and really balanced algo, i love it afaic, very promising, see groestlcoin : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=525926.0. N-scrypt is not that efficient, it's between X11 and scrypt in terms of power consumption. With summer coming, better go for the best efficiency to keep miners motivated. We probably will lean more towards X11. We will never just rush into any change though because sometimes exploits can be gained from certain Algos, this happened recently with the earlier implementations of KGW. |

I am looking forward to seeing the results of this convention on iCoin. It has a great name, great team although captainhook could update the community more on dev updates coming for iCoin. For development, as Viberpass announced in previous posts, we have plan to change iCoin algorithm to N-Scrypt (in testing phase), but there're also other good algo such as X11 (more power efficiency, anti-Asic) so we will consider choosing algo carefully as we don't want to have many major updates. Somebody asked for premined coins, it's still there, all transactions were sent to Viberpass and Bigridg7 for bounties, can check block explorer if you want to. Our team not only using premined ICN for bounties but also contribute our own BTC for events such as Cryptocurrency Convention which Bigrig7 is going to attend. As Captainhook said, as a team we contributed bitcoins and bigridg7 is taking premined iCoins(for the event giveaway) so Bigridg7 and another member of the marketing team can attend. We appreciate that Bigridg7 has taken time out of his schedule to do this as he owns his own successful business that keeps him busy but we all have the belief that iCoin is going to go places and today is the day we push on relentlessly.
