Hey there, I love this concept, and I'm trying to branch out and use the large amount of computation power available to me, but the requirement of the password in my userscript really cramps things up.
Why is there a password requirement? I mine BTC over at bitminter and they recently removed worker passwords due to the fact that there's no reason to have them. Is there a way to bypass this?
There is no worker password requirement with multipool. Something else must be wrong. What is happening? Are you using the correct worker name? Each worker name must be added on https://www.multipool.us/accountdetails.php page. It is username.worker example... allbiznessman.1 allbiznessman.2 Make sure you are using a period (.) and not an underscore (_) between the user and worker names, with your miner. Just enter a number or name in the box that says user, beside your username where you add your workers. Then in your miner use -u or --user, and.... username.worker Hope that helps. Thanks, Chris AKA... AllBiznessMan && SudoSuRootDev Thank you for your reply, it turns out that it is cgminer which wants a password. Setting -p password works a charm!

This post is what ended up fixing it all for me.
Had to go into recovery mode, telnet into 192.168.1.1, mount_root, and then fix the /etc/config/network file because it was missing the "ipaddr" section.
Hope that helps!

Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [QUESTIONS] Want To Create A Mining Pool [QUESTIONS]

So I've decided I want to create a mining pool website, hoping to make a decent amount of $ with it. I know nothing about creating a pool or how to start one, which is why I'm not the one doing the technical stuff, but I'd like a detailed list of things We'd have to do in order to create a successful public pool.
I'm the business and marketing end of the idea, I have a friend that has a job making websites, and we're looking for someone to get the programming end of this. So right now I'm just looking for a "grocery list" of things we'd have to do, things we'd need, and and so on...
I'm not looking for anyone to tell me "If you don't know you shouldn't do it", because I'm not creating the pool myself (I know nothing about programming).
Thanks for the help!
Yeah good luck with that buddy. Why would someone here who knows how go to all that work to have you make money? Not gonna happen.

Are you f***ing serious?? lol.... You do realize that in a year or two, that BTC you just spent is gonna be worth a lot more... congratulations, you just bought a sandwich for $300 LOL!! These stores are smart to accept bitcoins and store as much as they can early on
You're an idiot. I wish this forum supported tagging so I could make a note.

1.7 could be good or bad, depending on the exact date & time.. i mean, about 52 hrs ago, the price was at $450 on mtgox. Also depends on your plans and stuff
