Most of users there are small players buying few GHS. IF you play it good (watching for diff change and all that) you can earn alot of BTC/GHS. It sure isnt for long term mining like bu and forget.

another decentralised currency will rule the world. Bitcoin is the first real decentralised currency but its not perfect and will be replaced at some point (but not in the near future)

Why does everyone think that BTC wont change with time? Every "doomsday" prophecy doe the same thing...they all think that BTC wll stay the way it is right now and will never ever change (chain will get too long, speed of transaction bla bla bla bla...it's like BTC will be frozen in time). Same here..it is not perfect and it will die....do you think that BTC will never be upgraded, fixed, changed?

"Bitcoin will probably be dead within 6 years."

In 6 years, devs will come up with solution on how to trim blockchain. As simple as that.

The story of bitcoins.com is right here:
It was actually Narydu, who also happens to be Donator number 1:

Everything he wrote stand on its own. Problem is that assumption is that Bitcoin wont change in time, which is kinda flawed. I think that Bitcoin has ability to addept and survive and get much stronger than it is today.

1310  Other / Beginners & Help / Litecoin mining on Mac 10.6.8 on: November 12, 2013, 09:02:45 PM
Does anyone knows what do i need to have installed to be able to mine litecoins on Mac 10.6.8? I'm using Bitminters java mining program for mining bit coins and i have speed of 98Mhps. Problem is that there is no option in Bitminter for litecoins.
I tryed with bfgminer, followed ton of tutorials, installed ton of software (like xcode, brew etc.). I can mine Bitcoins with all of those programs, but as soon as i try --scrypt option to mine litecoins i get errors in all of those programs.
I'm assuming there is some piece of software i'm missing on my machine as that same miners work on other computers (Windows and Ubuntu). Can someone help me out and tell me or at least point me in right direction to what i'm missing.
Error that i'm getting from bfgminer:
