621  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Price Surging Back Up - Are You Buying or Selling? on: May 23, 2014, 12:37:42 AM
I think it would be crazy to sell, at least on the next week or so. There is definitely a strong bull run that is only just starting.
622  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: May 23, 2014, 12:07:10 AM
That's really good to know about cryptothrift, I was a little hesitant about listing higher value items in case of a dispute, and not knowing how your process went.

I recently had a dispute on eBay where they admitted to me they don't even look at any screenshots or documents either party uploads to the resolution center. There said those are just for the buyer and sellers information so they will resolve an issue on their own.  They seem to arbitrarily decide most cases, usually in favor of the buyer. And if a buyer happens to send you back a return package with nothing in it, they won't care even if you take a video showing that they are scamming you.
623  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rise Bitches. on: May 22, 2014, 05:33:54 PM
I am not convinced this will bring us to a new all time high, but looking at the exchanges I honestly think it could be at $550 in the next 24 hours
624  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rise Bitches. on: May 22, 2014, 05:10:35 PM
Seems like the "bad news effect" has finally passed and the bottom hit a few weeks back when it dropped to around $400.  I dont see any good reason to think about selling, at least in the next few weeks.  There also might be some good info about to hit that only "insiders" know about and they're getting in early.
625  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Denver Murder Rate Cut in Half After Marijuana Legalization. Coincidence? on: May 21, 2014, 08:17:55 PM
Maybe weed is most common drug, legalie it and then the gangs largely dissolve due to less business?

Not only are there gang wars but gang initiation.  Some gangs initiate their members by telling them to kill a stranger or w/e.

Pyschologically, gang members are trained / have confidence to ignore the law.  Take away the gangs and you're stuck with normal kids

the problem is that there is a lobby that wants to lock people up, especially minorities. if you remove that, then the prison-for-profit industry will take a hit.

For profit prison didn't lobby against marijuana legalization?

They have been for the last 100 years.

Imagine the drop in crime if it was legalized everywhere.  Especially mexico, what would gangs and cartels do for money?  And LEGITIMATE jobs would be created all over the place.
627  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA: 300 Million vs 545 on: May 21, 2014, 01:58:33 PM
Good article, I agree with his points, but when you subtract the children out of the population (too young to really grasp whats going on) the uneducated masses and those who simply are blind to anything outside of their tv and iPhone, you are left with a much smaller group of the population who care about the future of the US, and who actually want to do something about where we are headed.  I agree, all problems and WARS of the last 100 years or more are directly traceable to the US government.  They happen because they want them to. I was shocked when people actually came out against bombing Syria this past fall, most of the time if O says he wants to do something, people assume its in their best interest.  War is in no ones best interest.

No, you are wrong. War is in interest of US government. It is in interest of banking system and oligarchs. They need wars to cover their debt. When there is war nobody is asking for debt after all. And people are non existent factor in this equation.

Clearly bankers best interests are not factored in when I say its in no one best interest.  Why would I care about them making money and covering their debt?

War is not in the interest of the "300 million" spoken of in this article.

Maybe when Barack told her to?

And why would Barack do that?

And why did he wear the same wedding ring in college before meeting him (her)?

Just like the NSA was acting in the interest of national security...you can guarantee this will not benefit Americans "Health Security" whatever that means

Wow, Edward snowden said the US was doing this same exact thing to companies like Siemens (a German company), but he was waiting for Greenwald to release the documents after thorough journalistic review

No government required

Yeah I guess no other reason should really be necessary!
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Best aspects of Bitcoin to tell someone about? on: May 20, 2014, 07:59:42 PM
When explaining bitcoins advantages over cash to someone else, there are a few things that come to mind:

1. They cannot be counterfeited
2. Can be sent anywhere in the world with no (or very very low) fees
3. Mining fees dont go to big banks
4. Low transaction fees, coinbase estimated bitcoin could reduce payment processing fees worldwide from $500 billion to $50 billion, so 1/10th of current level

Any other to add to the list?
635  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: May 20, 2014, 07:33:07 PM
Slingshot, I agree that eBay can charge whatever they want, but the thing that gets me is how the paypal fee is deducted on the entire amount of the sale, not the amount after paying eBay fees.  There should be an option to have the eBay final value fee automatically deducted from the payment, and then the Paypal 2.9% fee comes out after, on the amount you actually get.  That is my biggest complaint with the ebay fee system
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people have received random .00000001 transactions to their wallets? on: May 20, 2014, 07:30:19 PM
So is there a chance of having my coinbase account hacked after getting these?  I have 2 from today currently "pending" on my account

Artificial raising prices, all the same as MtGox.

Are you posting that everywhere? Wink

He missed out on buying last night and is trying to get back in...or maybe he has some super unbelievable "inside information" and he is being so kind as to share it with us all...
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we starting a bull run? on: May 20, 2014, 02:58:55 PM
Today's movement suggests that we are, not sure if there is something in the works behind the scenes or if everyone has finally agreed that price has definitely bottomed out and now is a good time to jump aboard.  Either way...hold on for the ride!
639  Economy / Speculation / Re: Start of a beautiful rally. on: May 20, 2014, 02:43:35 PM
Price isn't just moving today its JUMPING. Still too early to tell if it's the true start of another big bull run, it sure feels like it!
