Bump

So finally can you tell us if your starbuck gift cards are legit ?

yes please enlighten us.  how do you get these?  And just because this guy might replace codes that go bad doesn't make him legit, in fact it proves these are fraudulently obtained.
223  Economy / Digital goods / Re: {Selling} - Starbucks Gift Card 35% on: September 30, 2014, 03:10:43 PM
Is there any legit way people can obtain these cards and sell them so cheaply? Some peoples cards seem to never get cancelled whilst others get wiped very quickly.

No, no one is getting these legitimately and able to sell for 70% off while still making a profit.  Ask the sellers, they will tell something different every time, one told me he works for starbucks, one says promotions, most of the time they wont answer at all where these come from.

It probably just depends on how vigilant people are about checking their statements.  If an 80 year olds card info is stolen, chances are they aren't doing online banking.  They might not notice the fraudulent charges for a month, if they ever do at all.  My guess is the ones that are cancelled within days are from peoples cards who regularly check their card activity online, or from a company with good fraud detection/protection.

Are these the same coins that are being given away through that new signature campaign? What is meant to go in the little squares that are empty? Some sort of sticker with your btc on?

Yes they are the same company.  I'm not sure which designs are being given away in their campaign though.

You print out a private key, fold it up, and place it in the square. then you put the tamper proof hologram over it to keep it safe.  Here is the how to from their site:

Hi @Clegg

I'm happy to discuss with you about my service on my topic, but this is selling thread of mine, it's not chatting box. You need to know what you're talking about, I don't care, but it seems you're prevented my business,

You don't accept what I'm doing? or something like that? Can i help you? Did you buy anything from me?

Hes just restating what everyone should know, these are obtained through CREDIT CARD FRAUD.  Stop acting like they arent.  Everyone that uses these deserves their card info to get stolen in the next Home Depot or Target data breach, and then see how it feels to see $3000 in $100 starbucks charges racked up by this "sofia" character

Exactly. People are free to discuss your services here and voice their concerns. You might be ok with selling fraudulently obtained goods and not caring who you scam - someone is getting scammed somewhere on these and so will most likely your buyers eventually - but others do care when you're promoting fraud. These people who stick up for your are either a) just so cheap they'll defend anything to get a cheap deal or b) alts of yours which I'm starting to think they are given the same broken English writing style. If you're going to sell these cards and can't prove where they came from you're going to have to learn to deal with the criticism that comes along with it.

Exactly.  How long do any of these sellers last on here?  Or should I say the accounts?  They sell with one account for a few weeks/months, then open a new one claiming to be someone else, clearly lacking proper english, making me think every single one a new one pops up (usually using a female name, I've seen Susan, Karen and now Sofia) its the same guy.

And yeah someone is paying the price for your 70% off starbucks coffee (which still isn't even a good deal).  This is why hackers target home depot/wal mart/ etc, becasue there are scammers (like sofia) who will gladly pay for stolen credit card numbers and buy stuff.  He gets the btc with no trace back to him, and comes back with a new username every few weeks.  Then the end user is the one looking like a fool when the card goes bad in store, or worse, gets in trouble with the law for being part of credit card fraud.

Like I said:

Buyer beware, you are participating in credit card fraud!!

Note to sofia, I am not trolling, or looking for attention.  I know you will say that, but you know (maybe you've even admitted in the thread somewhere) that these are bought with stolen credit cards
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple pay will make bitcoin (even more) useless. Let's deal with it. on: September 30, 2014, 12:15:22 PM
This is a non event because Apple pay is going to fail.

people live for apple products.  how many million spend $600+ for their new phones every year?  to do the exact same things possible on the previous generation too...

these people will start to use apple pay, and if the fees are low enough to enable sending of money worldwide that is a big hit to btc.  that was one of the biggest things btc had going for it.  companies are going to beat btc to the punch, before it gets too big
You cannot send money anywhere with apple pay. It is only for "in person" transactions when you phone transmits your credit card information to the merchant in an encrypted format. People are saying that apple pay is a threat to bitcoin because of the hope that bitcoin would be used in a retail setting (buying things in physical stores)

but when they add new features, such as sending money to other people, it will further weaken bitcoin, and give it one less feature to tout over fiat.

228  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will the next recesion affect bitcoin price on: September 29, 2014, 06:18:30 PM
When there is a next recesion, like the one in 2008, and if you know something about economics you know its comming, how will the bitcoin price behave? Will it go lower or higher?

I belive it will go lower, at least for some time (few months probably) and then it could be a different storys, but the first move, lasting for few weeks or months will be a move down.

What do you think, im asking in preparation, so i know what to do (buy/sell, after/before etc.)

we are still in the same recession, obama said it correctly last night on 60 minutes: wages are not keeping up with inflation, in fact they are going down.  no one has a dime to spare, let alone to buy btc with.

people in the us especially live on debt/credit cards.  they are for the most part not interested in using btc for commerce (right now)
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: [prediction] Next spike $560,000 14 months from now on: September 29, 2014, 06:14:02 PM
does this (or any other prediction for that matter) factor in the fact that last falls bubble was fueled by bot activity at Gox?  What if another exchange goes down? like btc-e which has shady origins & frequent loss of customer coins.

This is incorrect. Anyone who was watching the markets then could easily see that most of the buying pressure was from the big Chinese exchanges, which had recently opened.

the bots played a part, and i think there was suspicion of fraudulent activity from some chinese exchanges too bolstering price even more.  and there is no more money coming from china, at least not enough to cause any bubble.

231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do you people sell at these price? on: September 29, 2014, 05:34:08 PM
Because Bitcoin is dropping and likely will continue it's slow decline for the foreseeable future.

No one knows where the bottom is and its likely we haven't hit it yet.

Last week we had some HUGE news with paypal announcing that they will accept bitcoin. Bitcoin immediately jumped $40 on to settle back into its slow decline the next day.

If news like that can't end the decline, then not much will.

Bitcoin will go up again, but there are no signs that it is going to be in the near future.

Best bet is to sell now and buy back in at the bottom, which could be as low as $100, maybe lower.

btc is headed down in the near term, too much selling pressure by means of new merchants accepting btc, but instantly converting to fiat. No real new use by the general public. Once these merchants initial acceptance levels out, btc should slowly begin to climb up. then people should start buying/feeling bullish again

I can't tell if this is serious, or just mocking all the uber-bulls on here.

You think they are real just because you buy them on eBay?  eBay is ALMOST as big a scam as here.  My first (and last) SB card I bought off eBay was a $100 "card" for $85 from a seller with about 17,000 POS FB (100%) and it was bad after a week.  I figured if I am going to get screwed I'd be willing to **GAMBLE** at no more than $30 for $100.  Thing is, if they don't get shut down one can only assume they are OK.  If they do, you've learned your lesson.

But thanks for the "warning."   Wink

I realized 6 months ago these are not legit and stopped buying them, I am just trying to educate others that they are the ones at the tail end of this fraud, I wouldnt risk being the one who gets in trouble for one of these.

BUYER BEWARE!

Wait... you thought that you could buy gift cards at 65% off and they were legit?

I didn't think twice about it, I buy discounted gc's all the time on ebay.  Then I realized why these sb ones specifically are so prevalent.  Like I said I realized 6 months ago they aren't legit, and I think people should know what they are gettig into when they use these

I hadn't bought sb cards, other like HD/target store credits/gc's, etc, never had a problem with any of them.

Just trying to let people know whats happening every time there is a security breach somewhere, guys like this buy your info from a hacker, and use it to sell fraudulent gc's.

So these have noo value on them or do thy? Thanks mate.

Right, they are a do it yourself coin.  they come with holograms so you can print a private code and place it under the hologram for cold storage.
239  Other / Archival / Re: [WTS] Silver Wallets Limited Edition Low Serial Numbers! on: September 29, 2014, 01:31:40 PM
i like all the coins  , i am in China ,can you transport it to China ?and What is the total cost, including the freight??

Yes I could ship to China.  If you want all 3 coins, price would be 1.2BTC including shipping costs.

jcoin200:

I hope you don't mind, I loved your idea so I ran with it and modified the OP post image.

Haha thats great. I guess that does work when you take btc on a 5 year time period.  I am all for BTC, but its price stability still seems to be a ways out, whether thats up or down from here, hard to say.

I couldn't agree with you more though about USD inflation, meat prices up something like 60% in the last year and still going up.  Government not helping with $85bil/month I think printed.  I dont really think inflation has started to set it like its going to in the next few years...
