They were selling at 10.000 $ the unit that may be it cost them 1000$ for a small profit of 9000 $.
At that time a 240Kh mining with monero was producing around 1.3 $ a day/1 kh so something like 250 $ a day.
So, in 18 days they made the same money than selling the goods they produced.

They did it when the words got out to some Monero Dev.

Same thing is happening here on Etash but:

If they really want to check, it just take to follow the same route  used  for Al Capone . Everything is in the Blockchain.

2)improve CN in all variant
3)Finish ( translate, make it faster x16R/S)
4) X17 ( and all the algos included give the option to mine just for that, like it was for sgminer)
5) Allium and Groestl may be smaller, but with less competition.

ok, now you launch claymore mining ethereum only and let it figure out the intensity 8/12 that's the range

Then: you run hw info and look for no error, if no error increase the memory.

Now you dual mine xvg!

Put the same -dcr with the same number Claymore suggest for "Ethereum only"

As I stated, It happen that I have the very same configuration.Hw & sw beside Card are mod SRBpolaris- pimp straps and I have different PSU.
I was unable to replicate your error resetting the card to stock(but straps still modded). That lead me to think your problem is there or in the PSUs.

- Run more instance of Claymore starting them in different orders is the only out of the box  idea I can give you in order to identify if its a claymore/driver issue or not
