The current version only support Linux.  Wait for next version, which will support Window CPU mining. I expect no later than end of Jan 2019 to release the next version
upgrade for Cheetah.  Watch closely on DISCORD or NENG bitcointalk/Marinecoin Forum Ann threads.

I of course disagree with "pointless endeavor" view.   For the moment,  this algorithm change is merely to make NENG CPU minable coin.  This is breaking the monopoly of ASIC centralization mining.
Decentralization is always goal of bitcoin, litecoin or dogecoin or NewEnglandcoin cryptocurrencies.   Over the past several weeks when I alone ran alpha version of Cheetah, roughly 10% to 20% of block rewards were obtained by CPU miners. The majority went to ASIC miners.  My 10 year old 2 core linux PC yielded 1 million NENG per day in average.  Some rare lucky days my Linux running cheetah obtained 5 million NENG per day

What you are correct is that the cost of CPU mining of NENG is much higher than ASIC.  Therefore, I foresee the current CPU miner of NENG are casual miners. When one
use PC (linux or window),  just run cheetah to get some reward.  Then shut down when one sleep.   Another usage are for those masternode  Linux miners.
Masternode software does not take much CPU or memory resources.  Just run a version of cheetah, and NENG full node within the same cloud linux machine, then obtain additonal rewards with no additional cost.

Wait for my release of technical white paper of NewEnglandcoin within days.  I will explain  next level dynamic difficulty algorithm upgrade to be used against 51% attackers and to secure the NENG blockchain.

CPU mining for today is over probably.  my 4 core CPU linux  could not find any block in 30 minutes with continuous mining.  I stopped it. 

Alpha version of Cheetah in my old 2 core linux PC is restarted.  Cheetah now does nothing and won't start CPU mining until the block chain time is 2 minutes or more.

The rest of today probably is 100% ASIC world. 

My small ASIC USB stick (5 m/h hashing rate) is getting 9 blocks in 10 minutes in the pool.  It yielded more than 7 million NENG today while the past 6 days in the week only got  2 blocks per day or 300,000 NENG only.  Truly a huge day for ASIC miners.

Right now my 4 core CPU PC continuously mined a block in every 20 minutes.  No cheetah,  just continuously mining with "setgenerate true" in wallet

The CPU mining opportunity is there, but dynamic,  some day poor, some day high based on the difficulty and relationship with ASIC miners.  Today is big day for ASIC miners, huge
reward.  But yesterday majority of rewards went to CPU miners.

The group base difficulty for every 1440 blocks will reset higher or lower targeting 1 minute per block.  Check out discord, there were huge conversation on today's action on block chain movement, ASIC vs CPU.  

Cheetah is needed to help CPU mining when the base difficulty gets very high

By end of this week.  The block default difficulty is reset now to a very low number.  ASIC miners are getting huge amount of blocks. 

Cheetah won't help CPU mining now until the default group difficulty is reset to much higher number next time.

Have you upgraded wallet? there was a new version recently. Another is to try reindex the wallet

I assume you did the solo mining from PC wallet (linux or window).  Yes you own those coins if it is in your wallet.  Mined coins have different addresses.   They show up initially as unconfirmed or immature. I think roughly after ~ 120 confirmation,  the mined coins will be available to you to spend or trade at the exchange now.

Only pool mining (mainly ASIC miners) have fixed receiving address on NENG.

NENG动态挖掘难度调整新的钱包更新取得了重大成功。 经过几天挣扎，近链冻结死亡的情况后，NENG区块链恢复正常。

这一新的更新解决了2018年11月20日发生的链条冻结情况。无论出于何种原因，所有ASIC矿工都在2018年11月20日离开了NENG区块链采矿。可能需要数天或数周的时间才能让GPU或CPU矿工在ASIC算法下留下的高难度中挖到一个区块。。

Bump this thread again.  Recommend this coin NewEnglandcoin (NENG) as CPU minable coin.  Actually NENG is ASIC restricted, not resistant. Therefore CPU mining

Update on Jan 16, 2019:  automatic CPU mining tool called "Cheetah_CpuMiner" v1.1.2 is released to support  Windows/Mac/Linux CPU mining on NENG.

This means that CPU mining on NENG no longer require any manual work.  Just fire up software and wallet in desktop, wait for 1 days,
somewhere between 100,000 NENG to 1 million NENG can be mined in CPU within one day.

Mined NENG can also be traded immediately in ShorelineCrypto Exchange.

Checkout NewEnglandcoin (NENG), it is CPU minable scrypt coin because of its unique dynamic hashing algorithm.  It is also listed already on an exchange.
It does require some manual work on NENG CPU mining as straight continuous mining won't yield very good results.  

Updated: Cheetah_Cpuminer software was released to allow linux/windows users to mine NENG automatically without manual work.

Revise my statement above.  Henry in DISCORD claimed that he cpu mined NENG by running his PC wallet continuously.  I never knew this and my limited test indicated that PC Wallet could get stuck too on NENG block chain if the wallet is mining NENG all the time.  I could be wrong and Henry is right.  Of course,  keeping running PC wallet mining NENG cost a lots of money.  When ASIC are churning normally on NENG,  CPU miners have no chance.
