Withdrawing the coins to wallet is better than keeping at exchange.  Make sure that you back up the wallet file in separate computer or drive to be safe.

Update (Feb 27, 2018) on DISCORD Channel:  Today a new member jonn joined Marinecoin DISCORD and had a very good Q&A conversation with Core Dev Bruce Wayne.  In this conversation, Bruce disclosed quite many new exciting information on MTC's past, present and future.  

Bruce first addressed concerns on the supply of old Marinecoin issued in 2013  and explained that the total supply of old Marinecoin should be only around 150,000 MTC or  only tiny amount compared to 9.7 billion current total MTC supply. Yes, these old coins still exist today but they are insignificant.  

Bruce further stressed that Marinecoin is community based coin and there is no boss in this project and Marinecoin blockchain is controlled by guardians. Anyone can become a member of guardianship program with 10 million MTC signed wallet.

On the future of Marinecoin, Bruce said that "we will have Jarvis ICO after the completion of this 20,000 MTC seed members. We will offer Jarvis to up to 1 million people and 1 MTC = 10,000 Jarvis."   On Jarvis coin project, Bruce said that "you have to be a member of the guardianship program to access proprietary information about the project. You will need to buy 10 million MTC either from exchange or investor ICO  and finish the seed node verification process with your privately owned domain name. That domain name is hard coded in all GUI wallets. The minimum requirement is you operate at least full seed node and link a sub domain to that seed node."   Bruce explained that  all wallets are nodes but not all are seed nodes. The GUI wallet initial sync  and connection can only occur by a trusted full seed node, which only come from certified guardianship program. Guardianship is for life as long as the guardian maintains the server with current costs around 5 USD a month. Guardianship improves Marinecoin decentralization and removes the ability of making code changes that may harm the value of the MTC in the wallet. However, marinecoin network won't be slowed down even if no one signs up for guardianship.


Jonn asked if it is the plan to get the coin into daily life and how should  marinecoin and Jarvis coin being used for.   Bruce answered that  the question should really be "Does it have value?"   Marinecoin can be used anyway today or be converted to USD.  Marinecoin  can be used in any situation from nano payments between two lot with nearly zero fees to general use such as bitcoin.  Jarvis coin is part of Marinecoin it won't affect inflation.  One can only convert existing MTC to Jarvis. No Jarvis will be issued.  it will be created by sending MTC or destoyed by sending Jarvis to MTC.  1 MTC is 10,000 Jarvis.

jonn: "why are two coins needed?"  
Bruce:  "we will have hundreds of coins in the future for different interests and countries all issued by sending MTC.  You will be able to create a jonncoin by sending MTC and distribute it to anyone with your logo and they will be exchanged at any market where Marinecoin is accepted. "

Bruce:  "One example is my son plays the computer games on steam I will send 1000 MTC to his Jarvis wallet and he will have 10,000,000 Jarvis. I will tell him to share it with the other kids he is playing online games with. He will send 100,000 Jarvis to all of his friends in exchange for roblux etc.  At the end they will be back to MTC if needed to be converted to USD.  Jonncoin value will be fixed by a predetermined number to MTC, so you will end up spending real MTC to determine the jonncoin total circulating supply.  You can fix it to 1 to 10 or to a million jonncoin per 1 MTC"

At end of conversation between jonn and Bruce, Bruce further disclosed  on the latest airdrop progress that Marinecoin seed membership surpassed 2000 last week. There are already 4000 f1cx exchange registrations and nearly 2500 of them are members in the Marinecoin forum.  Bruce also indicated that core dev team have all these people’s contact information SMS and emails and will start a massive campaign to motivate the community in the future.

Core dev Bruce announced change in DISCORD today on the procedure of 450,000 marinecoin airdrop.  The requirement of Facebook is relaxed.  Any social media
promoting is OK, Facebook , Twitter or any important social media in their own countries would be OK.  Another change is that airdropped coins will no longer be deposited into exchange account.  In stead, only wallet address can receive the airdrop of 450,000 marinecoins.

Update on Feb 24, 2018 from DISCORD Channel:  Core Developer Bruce explained a bit more on what happened on 2015 delisting of MTC.  After market crashed
in 2015, many miners abandoned marinecoin because it was not profitable while all the listing exchanges closed shop. Since then,  the core dev changed the marinecoin core code so that miners will never be able to stop Marinecoin again.   Bruce explained that people should forget everything they know about mining classical mined coins as marinecoin concept and code is different.   Marinecoin network is low energy consumption in that miners can mine all day long for next two years and find every block, but the reward is still less than what he/she can obtain through this 450,000 MTC airdrop. Bruce further explained that marinecoin network has unique hash power adjustment method not only to adjust hashing energy level, but also be able to protect against potential evil mining attacks.   It is misconception for many people to believe that hashing power or huge energy cost is the only way to protect security of blockchain as bitcoin does.  In a disastrous situation,  MTC network preserve the alternative method such as forking against mining attacks.  As long as users maintain the *.dat file and private key, the MTC coins in the wallet are safe against any future attacks.   

Bruce further disclosed an exciting news about Jarvis coin ICO after the completion of Marinecoin 20,000 seed member airdrop.   1 MTC  will be equal to 10000 Jarvis coin.   Bruce suggested that all Marinecoin members to HODL on their MTC coins unless they absolutely have to sell.  Bruce further explained that this is proprietary information, it was too early to tell details of Jarvis coin now.  The core dev team wouldn't want to get out good ideas to others at this moment.  As we all know from earlier disclosure from Bruce that Jarvis is an artificial intelligence engine that maintains Marinecoin network.  We can speculate that this new Jarvis coin is likely to be an AI related coin that has to do with this Jarvis engine.  This is truly very big news for many MTC owners to HOLD on our coins so that we can automatically obtain this new Jarvis coin in the future!

I would recommend Marinecoin.  An old coin relaunched with upgraded technology for AI and IoT devices. It could easily go 100x in 2018.  The current market cap is less than $1 million USD.

Quite many reported this issue in DISCORD.  I am raising this issue to Bruce and hope the core team can improve the web site.

In the mean time,  you can try out windscribe with chrome,  a free VPN and proxy software.  Usually when you use windscribe, the web page problem goes away.

For now, I don't know whether this issue is web server ISP related, or the client side firewall related blocking.

UPDATE on Feb 22, 2018 from DISCORD Channel:   The Marinecoin DISCORD channel had quite a stir today as one user claimed that he/she transferred 1 million MTC coins from
one wallet to another wallet and found out the transfer fee was zero.   The user and other members were freaked out and asked core developer Bruce if this was too good to be true.    It turned out that the user found out this when he/she purchased 1 million marinecoins from the exchange and was trying to test out the low fee/fast speed claims of Marinecoin.

Core developer and one of the original creators of Marinecoin Bruce Wayne explained in DISCORD that Marinecoin can handle 1 million transactions and current load is nothing for MTC. Bruce further explained that 2000 transactions can theoretically be handled at the slowest power save mode with 2 to 4 CPUs for the Marinecoin network.  On a busy hours 500 million transactions can be handled. Bruce said his team tested 4 blocks per second, the cost doesn't go up that much really. It is pretty eco-friendly. The core blockchain technology  that Marinecoin network utilize to achieve blazingly fast speed and super low transaction fees  is called "dynamic hashing" algorithm where the network will adjust the hashing power so that it can maintain low mining fees and fast speed.  This blockchain of Marinecoin is dramatically different from bitcoin network.  Bitcoin miners are using super huge hashpower to fight for mining reward while pushing up the fees in heavy traffic.  Bruce re-assured everyone that he is very confident that Marinecoin blockchain network can scale up comfortable when the user bases and transactions grow in the future.
