Jesus christ guys, an entire page of the thread dedicated to people trying to dump the coin isn't gonna help it any.  If we all donated to a faucet, pool, or just started a huge giveaway, that might help.

+1

A few of us have already offered donations, we just need someone with the nous and willingness to organise it. I'm not sure I know enough to run pools and faucets etc.

SPICE is now listed at Coin-Swap.net!

Giving it a go, but it ought to have a trades offered page, somewhere for people to browse offers.....

The worst is always the one I am buying or mining - 100% accuracy.  Wink

I'll chuck in 200, does anyone have suggestions on the best way to spend it?
1105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Melange [SPICE] - The Spice Must Flow! on: January 28, 2014, 02:02:11 PM
Just a head's up guys,

The difficulty is actually still very reasonable for solo mining.

I'm running around 1.2mh/s and hitting about two blocks an hour as I type this - if this coin ever takes off you could have a reasonable share of all the coins mined in just a few days.
1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Melange [SPICE] - The Spice Must Flow! on: January 28, 2014, 01:10:40 PM
It's been a very quiet thread, which is a shame because this looks like a reasonable coin.

I'm happy to donate towards faucets etc, if there is anyone willing to promote the coin?

I feel bad for the people dumping their coins because as the difficulty increases getting coins will be harder causing the price to go up because peoples demand to buy the coins already mined will go up so they can have coins to hold until the higher prices and less coins mined will means less coins on exchanges so a higher price and once we hit a bigger exchange like cryptsy more people will start mining causing more difficulty increases as well as driving the price per coin up as well.

Lol, you guys, do the maths.......

WTS 144 - what's the going rate ?
Diff very High, so price should be high..
I think that you can sell your 144 for 0.2BTC..

I solo mined for like 30 minutes right after launch and hit 4 blocks so I have 72 of these... you're saying they're currently worth $1.11 each?  Shocked Guess I shouldn't have stopped mining them last night  Embarrassed
Yes because the difficult is 330 now, so VERY DIFFICULT to mine.!
The first minute mining for cpu coin are very important!!
in any case you would find only other 4-8blocks not more Wink

I was using GPU...  just noticed difficulty retarget every 8 blocks so you're right, I probably wouldn't have hit that many more if I'd continued mining... 1 mil max coins? .. should I just forget I have these until they hit an exchange?

I've got 800+ coins mining for the last 24 hrs and have hit 2.5 blocks in the last hour.

With only a million coins, this is worth persevering with - I'm aiming for a 1000th overall share at least.

Edit:

Running 2x R9 280x, around 720kh/s each.

Edit Edit:

Just hit block 50, you should mine this   Wink

I'm running two R9 270x, usually get 420kh/s each ... I thought the current difficulty would be too high to make solo mining even worth it?

It probably would be a waste of time, but since total coins is only a million you're getting a much larger share than usual.

New exchange trading CHC!!!!

I used it last night, no problems, sent Coino in and got LTC out without hassle.
1115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Melange [SPICE] - The Spice Must Flow! on: January 25, 2014, 02:43:21 AM
Thanks for that, but I'm still baffled.

How do I identify the variables?

For example, it doesn't recognise -u for user or -p for pass.

An example would be excellent  Grin

Thanks

Ok, so this is the command line:

poclbm-skc.exe http://user:pass@ipaddress:port

If your user name is sussex and your password is 123 you would add them to the url like so:

poclbm-skc.exe http://sussex:123@ipaddress:port

You are probably mining on the same computer that you have the daemon/wallet running so you would put in localhost or 127.0.0.1 for the address to point the miner at:

poclbm-skc.exe http://sussex:123@127.0.0.1:port

Then there's the port. The docs say 1986 is the default port but that's a privileged port so you would be better off changing it to something like 11986 so then we plug that into the port (keep in mind, you still have to have changed the conf file to reflect all these values)

poclbm-skc.exe http://sussex:123@127.0.0.1:11986

This isn't cgminer so there's no -u -p or -o flags

Thanks for taking the time to give me a good expanation, but it still eludes me.

I am now getting Errno10061 No connection could be made because the target actively refused it.  Sad

My firewall is off.

My command line is exactly as you typed it and my .conf looks like this:

rpcuser=sussex
rpcpassword=123
rpcport=11968
server=1
listen=1
maxconnections=200
addnode=162.243.69.185
addnode=146.185.129.70
addnode=173.64.68.108:1986
addnode=85.238.96.186:55748
addnode=75.183.73.182:1986
addnode=184.155.114.216:61040
addnode etc etc etc

It's late, I'm tired and I suspect I'm doing something stupid, thanks for any pointers  Grin

EDIT:

Hahaha, I knew i was an idiot, it was the port number, deliberate mistake  Wink

Give me your address and i'll fling you some coins when I find a block  Grin

Thanks!!!!

Once I see an example I should be able to work the rest out.

Thanks.

GPU miner:
https://github .com/reorder/poclbm-skc/blob/master/py2exe/poclbm-skc-win.zip?raw=true

I can't mine in my old gpu.

Can anyone give me a command line example for this? It's asking for a server, but I'm not sure of the syntax.

Preferably for solo, while there are no pools

Thanks

The simplest example:

poclbm-skc.exe http://user:pass@ipaddress:port

user name, password, and port are all set in your spice.conf, the ip address is the address of the machine where the daemon is running and you will be mining against.

Sup guys.
Me and my friend made a new exchange for newborn currencies, and decided to add CON to it.
Feel free to use our marketplace. Also it would be helpful to send bugreports to my PM or in-exchange support.

http://exchange.ghash.ru/index.php?page=trade&market=105

You'r welcome!

Well, I tried, but I can't find anywhere to make an account  Huh

All I can see is the markets and the chat button, nothing to sign-up or login.

Edit:

Ok, looks like your site isn't displaying properly in IE, top and bottom button bars are missing.
