Links are outdated. Plz update to v0.3.25

Am I being a moron here?

None of the links at the top work and I can't find anything on sourceforge.

someone find any block last 9 hours? Mining with a lot of cores on all my rigs (32 cores), got nothing, but gpu hashrate falls down. (only the rigs with CLI Driver)

if there is a giveaway for poor bad luck miners... CZgJeE2eH62KVoY4iKxihGYx2irsG2HnQM

I found 4 blocks in the last 10 hours, using i7 @ 4ghz

I think I could have a pool up within 24 hours if people are interested

I've often thought about running a pool on an email server I have, but not sure if my internet connection is up to it - I have around 500k/s down and 70k/s up, will that do it for a small pool?

Well, I'll just let it run overnight, hopefully it won't kill my laptop, and maybe by morning I'll have some chain coin ^_^

i doubt it will kill your laptop it is not as hard as scrypt or sha256
The fan sure spooled up >.> .. also running a script miner at the same time, so I am kind of double dipping

i read info about the BOINC and the Protein folding, when the cpu is at 100% the gpu performance goes down. Is it true in your case?
With this particular algorithm, I see no net loss to GPU hashing output. With some other scrypt based coins, I do at times see a loss of hashing power, when also mining in the wallet.

Well, starting the chaincoin miner put my GPUs on their arse, I was running them at 720kh/s each, but they fell to 200kh/s once I kicked in the cpu miner.

Feels great, think I might do it again !  Grin

make sure is not orphan... if you ever see a question mark after one confirmation, you will need to restart your wallet to re-sync again.

37 confirms so far, thanks for the advice  Grin

Can I just check with you guys that I have this right?

Got the wallet, d/l'd the blockchain, put the wallet into my appgdata/roaming/chaincoin folder, copied the .conf file to same folder and put my wallet address into the rpduser variable and started the qt,
Then put setgenerate true into the console.

.conf looks like this:

rpcuser=CMrEk9dnMfY5K6oUUdxmWWteN9v7fEa1L8
rpcpassword=password
server=1
listen=1
genproclimit=-1
generate=1
addnode=95.85.58.168
addnode=192.241.156.143

Using getmininginfo it responds:

{
"blocks" : 350,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 0.01116246,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 100473,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

Is it working?

I have no password on my wallet yet.

Finally, can I expect anything running an i7 at 4ghz?

Thanks guys, my first venture into SHA mining.

todays in dutch newspaper :

THe FBI is going to sell 18 million euro worth  ( 30k) bitcoins ,

also the us goverment has 144.336 bitcoins they wil also be sold !

forecast : bitcoin value will drop huge !

( all these coins were confiscated from silkroad owner Ross Ulbricht pffff give that man a sigar  Cheesy )

BTC has a marketcap of +/-10 billion. You really think that selling 18 million of BTC will let the price drop? LOL!

It rather goes up, because of the extra publicity imho.
Lool drop? Is going to sky rocket. Auctioning bitcoin by government means its a recognized currency. Anyone having any doubts about its legality will no longer have

It means nothing of the sort. It's just a commodity.

When the Govt. sells a drug dealers car, it 's still just a car, it doesn't make it a currency.

The marketing message "will not be stopped by any man, or any army" is potentially a problem in the context of some countries.

Owning or promoting this coin might be perceived as a subversive political action... for some, the prudent thing to do is to no get involved.

I am not making statement about agreeing or not about the message. I own quite a lot of EAC, but I believe that an anti-government tone is harmful to its global adoption.

TL;DR
    Please drop the "will not be defeated by...any army" from the marketing.
Very much +1, I meant to mention this some time ago.

Also, the "will not be stopped" bit, we shouldn't even be suggesting that it could be stopped.

We need a new strapline......
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: January 16, 2014, 01:48:55 AM
I don't think Icke is very relevant to Earthcoin, it's The People's TV's image we need to be concerned with. Alex Jones accepts Bitcoin and Litecoin and I haven't heard anyone screaming bloody murder over it. So until proven otherwise I feel this is an excellent advertising platform. Like it or not, Icke has a following and I'm willing to bet a good chunk of them are already into digital currencies and would be willing to expand their portfolios.

But BTC and LTC are considered geeky and are big enough for it not to matter.

EAC is tiny in comparison and one wrong step could take months to recover from, if ever and aren't we trying to make EAC less geeky?

I don't doubt that having a connection to PTV could be useful, it should just be handled carefully and Icke should be kept out of the picture as much as possible.

Edit:

Ok, I've just checked out The People's Voice - I'm not encouraged.

If this coin becomes associated with Icke in people's minds it will lose any potential as a mainstream coin.
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: January 15, 2014, 11:24:46 PM
guys we're introducing them to this cryptocoin world. most people have no idea what it is!

it doesn't matter the coin number we give, it's a novelty thing to share, many will become interested and search more about it

I want to stress a lot about the importance to have the platforms and socials already ready and populated before you do something like that.

People want trust and ease of use, as of today if we do something like that, 99% of those flyers and EACs will be lost, and the brand will lose credibility on the eyes of others, more then gain.

What people will do as soon as they got the flyers:

A lot will just trash it to the bin, but let's talk about all of them that really  go home interested to know more, they do that:

Google, look for trust (top socials engagments, facebook, twitter etc.)
If they are ok with it as a lot of people like EAC and talk about it on "officials" channels, they will look for the easiest way to use it.

If they don't meet those criteria they will immediately forget about EAC and you lose the only one shot you have with them, and if they will ear about EAC again, even if in better shape that would be more reluctant to know about it.

  I agree with you, so please spread the word that you want an EAC wallet

listed on a TV Channel next to Bitcoin and Litecoin,  only one person from this thread

has responded, please respond to Link for details
 http://earthcointalk.org/forums/topic/earthcoin-the-peoples-voice-tv-david-icke/

I like the Idea. Really. I like it and if I saw a way I would do it, but... i guys of this collar size wont listen to a few fanboy which write an email coincidentially when they get a demand of beeing part of their donater...

I think we show instead a too small collar size when we write an email... so im afraid I wont email them.

That looks like we are kiddies... imho!

  Sorry go to the link and read the post, all you have to do is send an email, the same amount of time it takes you to make a post on this forum.

  They have written back to me I posted the copy of the Email.

  The reason they have Bitcoin and Litecoin Wallets is because I suggested that to them last year.

  Earthcoin is  anew currency but just like getting listed on Crystpy you have to show,  there is a demand.

  We are trying to legitimise a coin that has been just rellased last month, and there is an opportunity

  to have it associated with an online TV Channel that has thousands of viewers, notwithstanding the fact it is

  called The Peoples Voice, and you throw the idea in the bin?

Ok no need to fret!
I just sent a wordy email to TPV.
Nice idea BTW.

Are we sure we want to be associated with David Icke?

Icke was a TV sports presenter and pro-footballer here in the UK when, in the nineties, he gave an interview and pronounced himself the "son of godhead" - he is a national laughing stock, no-one takes him seriously.

Is it not the case that being associated with him will give the general public an easy stick with which to beat EAC, make us look like we also believe in a reptilian royal family?

I'm not sure they are the kind of connotations we want for EAC.

I do understand your concerns, but aren't you already tarred  with that brush for being involved with Bitcoin and Crypto currency, oh OMG and silk road

drug dealing whoooah scary.

Times are changing people are waking up , the powers that be have discredited and divided people for millennium with all kinds of FUD, and in respect of  the

nineties it is 2014 and Icke is not a laughing stock any more, unless you're related to Terry Wogan.

I also think EAC has attracted enough trolling without any assistance from David Icke LOL, have you been reading this thread wow.

What I am positive about is legitimacy and exposure, that normally cost thousands, please share your alternatives I'm all ears...

Errr, he is a laughing stock, only recently he was described as a "mad conspiracy theorist" in the Telegraph.

You need to remember that the vast majority of the UK gets it's news from the main stream media and nowhere else. They haven't had their eyes opened at all, when they hear Icke mentioned all they think of is "son of godhead" and reptilian royals, then they have a good giggle.

It's not about trolling, most EAC users will never visit this site, it's about being taken seriously.

My suggestion?

If this is the way ahead, just don't ever mention Icke's name, always refer to People's TV.

Do you live in the UK?  I have no problem about his name, and the fact you quote the  Telegraph enough said, lets move on.

Glad you agree this is the way ahead, here is the link for email to People's TV : http://earthcointalk.org/forums/topic/earthcoin-the-peoples-voice-tv-david-icke/

I don't agree this is the way ahead, read it again.

What's your obsession with where I live? Yes, in the UK.

Christ almighty, yes, let's move on.

Icke may have been the  Catalyst for The Peoples voice but if you head over there you will see that that he has taken no part in the content creation or I believe the running of the channel,so no harm done as far as I am concerned.
and there is literally tons of interesting information you will most certainly not find in the mainstream media outlets, so to support them in their endeavours is a noble act IMO.

I agree, he does have some interesting stuff to say in amongst the completely barking stuff, but the merest mention of Icke in the UK tends to destroy your credibility.

What part of the UK are you talking about?
Well, the UK, I don't get your question.

Well you said the merest mention of Icke in the UK tends to destroy your credibility, do you live in  a thriving progressive multicultural

dynamic city or town, or do you live in a quite backwater where they serve lashings of ginger beer?

Ok silence about the location of where you live in the UK and no alternative ideas, great we can move on.

Jesus, give me a chance to respond. Six minutes and apparently I can be dismissed.

Clearly you have a soft spot for Icke, it's clouding your judgement, such as it is.
