1845  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ready to bounce back to a new high? on: December 11, 2013, 12:09:59 PM
Easily $2k by March/April. If it starts to pick up, we'll see $10k by this time next year. $5k is a little more believable (and probably under-estimating). But easily 10k by the end of 2015 (if not the end of 2014).

I wholly believe that if you invest in Bitcoin RIGHT NOW you can easily expect a %300+ profit by this time next year.
This.
$1k is an extremely reasonable price to buy bitcoin at. It has tons of support at this current level as well.

This blip was bigger than the last blip which was bigger than the blip before that. Anyone can see where this is going.
1846  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's over. Bitcoin is finished. on: December 11, 2013, 12:03:59 PM
The last bubble was bitcoin's last hope for establishing itself, now that it's crashed in the middle of the media spotlight, no one will have confidence in it anymore. Have fun holding the last tulip when it all comes crashing down. Serves the gullible idiots right for buying into a ponzi scheme posing as a fake currency.

lol

1854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Attack On Crypto Currencies – Market Manipulation By Banks/Governments on: December 09, 2013, 06:37:47 PM
Quote
The big Banks and Governments will use fear and human psychology to scare people away from crypto currencies, they will make it so volatile that most people (non-traders) cannot handle it.

Crypto-currency has always been volatile

Oh ffs, will you guys stop with this nonsense?

The guy is working hard on getting the exchange functioning normally, & as I speak my deposits, refunds and orders are coming through. He's already said they have brought on extra support staff and added additional servers, and these are currently being transitioned into the exchange. With that comes the need for training of staff & teething issues with servers. Stop carrying on like children and persevere with the issues atm or go trade elsewhere. You can always go back to trading via a google spreadsheet? Give the guy a break & go play with the dog for a bit...you will feel better for it, & come back and play when the exchange issues are resolved.

I was just watching a convo in Cryptsy IRC Support about the possibility of Cryptsy operating off fractional reserves. For those that do not know what fractional reserves are, it's where any financial institution borrows from deposits on hand down to a fraction and then operates on what is remaining. They are gambling that all depositors will not withdraw at once or in masses. Then use deposits on hand to handle the normal flow of business.

Effectively they are getting a free loan from their customers. Cryptsy was prime for such a maneuver. I think this is what is happening. Cryptsy cannot simply shut down and allow customers to withdraw funds, because the funds aren't there. So they keep this charade up by feigning technical issues related to an upgrade while they collect deposit funds to hand out to the oldest and loudest people who are having deposits "disappear".

It all makes sense. It's the only thing that makes sense as the technical bullshit is border lining on stupid. Big Vern needs to PROVE he has coins on hand.

Anyone have any thoughts?

You mean like a bank?
