What I'd really like to know is the name of the retard over at Litecoin that decided we needed this notification every 1.5 seconds?

Coins-e has been around for 2 days - give it time. Cryptsy volume for BTG & SBC was also very low for the first couple of days after it was added too.

FTC have deployed an update that turns off this annoying nag - http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=2241.0

Would be good if the Dev's of other coins could deploy a similar fix to turn off this annoying nag.

Yup. The digital world is very fast-paced and those that dont change with the times miss out. Its like gox, sure they apparently still get a lot of trade from BTC but I havent been to their site in ages. I dont trade/mine BTC anymore. BTC-e is the same - lots of missed opportunites, and even if they started listing some of these newer alts I doubt I would use their services again. I like Cryptsy and they were the first to adapt to change so I'll be sticking with them. Coins-e is now taking opportunities from Cryptsy, and likewise even if/when they start listing some of the newer alts they might find most of the volume is already on Coins-e.

And thats the good thing about a lot of alts - the Dev's are active. And thats good for crypto, miners, speculators, and the community as a whole.

And having choices is good. Alts also split the hash power so no-one has a monopoly and its a free for all gamble for everyone determining which coin will be the next 'bitcoin'. Maybe a few will be? Roll the dice and pick your coin

Anyone else having problems mining this coin?

I couldnt get solo working when it was released but was able to pool mine now I can get cgminer working with either? I was successfully mining @ http://coinworld.us:8887/static/ previously. Emerald client has plenty of connects.
