Want reality?

Not really.

How dumb are these people? Bitcoin is brilliant, but it's like saying the internet will overtake newspapers in 1994!

Well no it's actually quite likely the total amount traded daily will be more very soon.

Well you can sort thru some 3k of transactions to get to the pizza transaction on here https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH4

Yeah, so much BTC back then, but sadly all gone now

There must be some seriously rich people that got in early, they're very quiet.

Considering the amount of money invested and the number of people involved, I would think that folks should actively try and track down who is behind this now while they are still on the radar.  Because once they do vanish, threads like this will be filled with folks asking how to get ahold of them.  And there is just one foreign Ebay account to work through, which is likely a dead-end.

It's not easy to run a fake ebay account they must have used Paypal also so surely that makes it a piss easy job for the authorities when they run out of new money to hand out as returns.

Did this guy ever get his coconut?

He was probably making Thai green curry and thought hmm  Huh have I been ripped off on my coconuts today.

Next step logical step was to..... ask a Bitcoin forum for global coconut prices per 'Ton'. Obviously.
108  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can someone help me on: May 25, 2014, 03:11:20 PM
Does anywhere sell coconuts for btc ?

Can you explain this to me^ May 22 Is Bitcoin Pizza Day because 4 years ago this week that guy offered 10,000 Bitcoins for two Papa John’s pizzas?

Correct and that helped kick off Bitcoin.
111  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: did anyone try groupbitcoin.com for cloud mining? on: May 25, 2014, 12:06:37 PM
Not sure if they are legit or not? I signed up and ordered some services from them 36 hours ago and paid using Bitcoin. The only email I received was a confirmation of my order. I still don't see a fulfilment of my order in terms of the 10GH/s I ordered and I am down 0.058 BTC. I sent an email to their support address and that was ignored too.  Angry OK, it's small change to some but I wanted to see if the order would go through before ordering more. Looks like I was right to be cautious?

Same situation for me - sent .0298 for 5GHs on 5/21 and and got the confirmation mail, but the order hasn't been filled. I also sent a mail to the support address, and no response.  My order # is N12.

When you say 'support address' what address do you mean because we only use info@groupbitcoin.com and don't have anything from you either. Whats going on here do you both work for Cloud Hashing haha

DeathRay1977- You made a small order on Thursday registered on here yesterday just to post that, and you also posted a bad review on cloudminingreviews.com without even talking to us first? If I hadn't have seen this I wouldn't even have known you had an issue.

Call or email (info@groupbitcoin.com) if you ever have an issue there's nothing wrong with either of your orders they're both running.

We're waiting for our fiber line to be installed in our new place to run the stats but you should both see your orders when you log in.

I did email you at info@groupbitcoin.com but received no reply so I did what most people would under the circumstances. I googled you and came across this thread and the review on the other website. Naturally I posted a review which, at the time I felt to be accurate and fair. I would gladly take down that review in light of what you say about teething problems with your new site. I don't wish to seem unreasonable to you and your new business. You can see it from my point of view. I am new to bitcoin and have heard the unfair rumors of it being 'dodgy'. The fact that I paid in BTC only for it to disappear into the ether didn't give me the warm fuzzies. I had to register with this forum in order to post a comment to this thread. I would have registered anyway as it is an interesting site. My apologies if actions came over as being a troll. I hope to still do business with you if you get your teething problems sorted.

I have spoken to someone else that emailed by replying to the automatically generated order confirmation email and they don't seem to be coming through on our new site could you please email direct, this is possibly what happened.

You should now see the details of your order when you log in. Bitcoin is not dodgy but there is a lot of companies that operate within it that are so you are right to be cautious bad reviews from our customers is extremely damaging and it's horrible when you work hard on something and get them from site problems or misunderstandings.

Anyway welcome to Group Bitcoin the live chat is online pretty much everyday give us a call or email if you have any issues. Here's the mine, the lower Terraminer in the middle cabinet is the one providing the hashing power for your contract  - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622842.msg6901373#msg6901373

Any economic philosophy - capitalism included - that tells you humans must WORK for the right to EXIST is a LIE! Capitalism is ignorance, and therefore it is evil.

This doesn't even make sense.  Values (food, shelter, etc) have to come from somewhere.  If I'm not going to earn them myself, that means someone else has to.

See, this is why you can't argue politics/philosophy with Beliathion.  Smart guy, love his enthusiasm for Bitcoin, but too many confused assumptions rattling around in his head.  (No offense)

Facts be told, I sometimes can be accused of the same thing, albeit I'm trying my damdest to get you folks to see outside the box oppose to remaining inside with some smelly dead cat, or a uber-purring one if such be the case. Either way, there's a droolin' dog outside trying to get in because some dude rang a bell.

An 'uber-purring one' is probably preferable.
113  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can someone help me on: May 25, 2014, 02:47:56 AM
That's about as off topic as humanly possible on a Bitcoin forum.

Not sure where I'd even buy a KG, let alone a tonne. Good luck with your coconuts.

Unless people can teleport through photo's security is no justification for not showing this mythical 500TH/s facility.
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Foundation-fraudsters, pedophiles, murderers ,fat fucks and scammers on: May 25, 2014, 01:28:20 AM
Bitcoin is a consensus based network.
BINGO! I don't think most people realize how important this is, how radical and brilliant the solution of [the blockchain] crypto is, to the problem of [trust] money.

Consensus among about 6 miners that own near all hash rate? Descentralization does not exist right now.

Which, again, speaks to the importance of the majority to work together to assume control.

"All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"

How do they actually control it though, in what way ? Do they adjust the fundamentals like block reward for example ?

Or control by just being recognized as the figure head, the organization at the top ?
116  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Largest mining facility in the UK. on: May 24, 2014, 07:51:25 PM
Nice photoshopping  Roll Eyes

Anyway, so we should send our gear to you so you host it? Or we rent or is it private or what? Not really clear instructions I think...

Thanks.

We offer Colocation and Cloud Mining.

Colocation means you can run your hardware in our mine with remote access. Some more details https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622842.msg6901373#msg6901373

Cloud Mining means you can buy hashing power in our own hardware with monthly payouts that's run indefinitely until it can't pay for it's running costs.

117  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: May 24, 2014, 07:01:17 PM
Notice how the minimum required to buy goes up regularly? the minimum is now 8ghs, I believe they raise the minimum when their payments increase.. This is an obvious ponzi. I would love to see a video or even a photo of their mining setup. Its just magical how their total hashrate increases. But, those that got into this in the beginning will win and the ones at the end will lose.

I have some experience on this and to run 500TH/s you would need your own sub station it would be one seriously impressive facility. The fact they are completely anonymous mix the coins and keep increasing the minimum order...
118  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: plexi case for ants... hoping it works... on: May 24, 2014, 06:01:53 PM

in fact that is the exact item i was talking about... and believe it or not you can generate energy using them....

one isue you are going to have with them, is you get a cool side and hot side, you have to use a heatsink on both sides, but isolate the hot side so you can cool it so it doesnt burn the module out....

i have a few of these laying around... i want to figure out how to use the plexi with these...

Yeah thats what I was thinking possibly mounting them under the heat sink on the ant miner to run another fan maybe ?

Cold side facing up hot side touching the heat sink

There is just one downside of peltiers (otherwise they'd be mounted in every single PC or server, because they're cheap themselves) - they need power to run, probably more than all the fans you have in that room combined. If you use one 70W plate for each miner it might end up being expensive to run.

I'd rather buy a powerful fan (like the ones used in air ducts) and mount it in front of the whole case, so it creates pressure inside. A fan like that can easily cool your hardware below room temperature and will conume less power than peltier.

Yeah I meant possibly using the heat to generate electricity to run another fan if that makes sense.

Hi guys,

I visited your site to check out your rates, but I'm sure I'm missing something. I pay 15.6 pence per kilowatt (less at night with economy 7) - about 2.5 pence less than your rate, and I also have a standing charge of 14 pence per day = £4.20 per month. Even with the cost of my internet, VAT, etc on top of that each month it is considerably cheaper for me to host my gear at home than it is if I used your service - and that's based on using a single 1U rack which is no where near enough room to cram my gear in.

What am I missing here?

Thanks  Smiley

Hello there, you can't realistically run multiple large ASIC miners like KNC's or Terraminers at home it's difficult, I had one running in my back room last year, turned it into a fan oven. That's what Colocation is for, 18p per Kwh is the average price for electricity in the UK.

Most data centers here only allow a maximum of 32amps per 42u cabinet which is also to do with heat servers/miners don't emit much light or sound almost all the electricity you put in comes out as heat. We originally looked at using data centers for our cloud mining service but it was expensive and limited to 32 amps per cabinet so we made our own place and now also offer Colocation.

A Terraminer uses around 9amps at 230v, 10 in a 42u cabinet is over 90amps.

We're also working on a bulk electricity deal with British Gas which will bring the price down but the rack space charge will be a bit more so it's all relative.
120  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: H/w Hosting Directory & Reputation on: May 24, 2014, 12:35:19 PM
We started in 2013 but opened our mine for Colocation yesterday and have an introductory offer of £25 per 'u' per month for the rack space pre paid for 6 months.

Specifically designed for mining each cabinet is supplied with a massive 96amps @ 230v on 3 phase.

What is your price per kw?
I know that British electricity isn´t too cheap...

It's 18p per Kwh (the UK average) but £25 per 'U' is cheap for the high power density so it's all relative we're better value than most in the UK.
