I have a synchronizxe problem with wallet? Anyone else ?

Hi, wallet has built in node so there should not be. What you have to do if you have problem at startup: First startup can popup an error message, ignore that and relaunch wallet. Let firewall to allow access to wallet. Create a goldreserve.conf file, copy the content at the first page (under conf file) and put this specific file to user/appdata/roaming/goldreserve directory if you are using windows.

And last, just wait a few minutes, wallet needs to find the nodes.

Hi, thnx for the answer. I put content from first page to C:\Documents and Settings\xp\Application Data\GoldReserve but still doesn't sync Sad
In debug window I see that it try to connect to node that I just removed.

Try a .conf with a single connect=IP instead of any addnode=IP after removing your peers.dat (but delete this connect=IP right after an initial full sync and before you send any coins) or even try to remove everything except the wallet.dat (if removing peers.dat wasn't enough).

Why doesn't my purse or synchronous?

Try to create a GoldReserve.conf text file in your C:\[User]\AppData\GoldReserve directory with these lines:
addnode=108.61.103.33
addnode=xgr.blockexplorer.cc
addnode=87.242.50.175

Nope , the dev just doesn't want to pay the fee because he thinks we could get on bittrex with emails and tweets  , what a greedy dev

Did you really just stated that it's pure greed if somebody does not descend to levels of bribing exchanges to force the premature listing of a young coin? Shocked
I see this as a proof of how ethics turned upside down around altcoins: cheating, scamming, bribing, stealing all became publicly accepted standards. If you refuse to do either of these, you face public humiliation from those who you should have impaired. Grin

Wallet updated to the latest version!

Just to make this clear: all the updates since the initial release (up to this moment) were small cosmetic changes only, so the wallet update is not mandatory. You have nothing to fear if you haven't updated yet. The old wallet can still be used. There is no risk of forking and loosing coins (hard forks may or may not come in the future - but they will be properly advertised if they do). This update didn't change the coin itself, just the GUI.
But, of course, it doesn't hurt either. Better to keep up with passable updates than miss the mandatory ones. Wink

We haven't gotten the final word yet! Don't update

Updating the files in the official GIT repo is the final word and you should update.

No it isn't. It could easily be a precaution.

The master head on GIT is THE code. Not something which was, nor something which will be, it's the actual present code.

What else would you wait for? A MAC OS binary from a third-party? Tongue

i see your pow is scrypt. in the summer for most miners. X-11 is way cooler (temp) or even scrypt-n or x-13. X-11 is easiest on hardware and energy cost though. Strongly consider this change.

ok lets mine this on release Smiley good luck

Do you know, which coin uses NIST5 algorithm? Very low temperature and low energy consumption. Looks interesting.
Do you know, which coin uses JH algorithm? Very low temperature and low energy consumption.

I do: Jackpotcoin. Hovewer, I have no idea about it's mining. I just traded it with some nice quick profit.

You refuse to reveal the price.

Yes I did because I felt I should let Mesterlovesz decide about this.

And to be honest I felt I deserve to keep my private investments ... well ... private ...
I don't really understand why you couldn't accept that. I am not a developer, I am a customer and I believe customers deserve privacy, especially when participating in private offerings ...

I bet you would decline to reveal any informations about your private investments and you would be furious if somebody asked a third parties to release these informations about you and they did.
I am not sure if I should admire Mesterlovesz for how hard he tries to please you all or advise him to keep his over-excitement about his coin in check. If it were my project, I wouldn't reveal these kind of informations.

But since he already told you the price, I will supply a proof about the transaction. I left a public note on blockchain.info about this (hence my earlier clue about "hidden on plain sight"):
https://blockchain.info/address/16BuruNiqeDyAt2xKuCufXovsPvPjDmNPk (scroll down to 2014-05-23 21:54:46 it's the only public note you can find there)

Quote
Public Note: Upcoming altcoin project funding by janos666 (as investor) to Mesterlovesz (as current project owner and manager) according to the deal sealed in private conversations on the prohardver.hu forum. [A notice for transparency purposes.]

As you can see:
1: this have happened before the coin announcement
2: it was in fact a private deal
3: I left this public note in case we decide to reveal this information (or to be found by curious people who care to look instead of making demands)

- it has a rock solid technical basis. very fast transactions, a perfectionist dev, a great Mac wallet (always a test of completeness)

Well, about that... The Windows wallet should be a static build (instead of packing the mingw gcc dynamic library files into a zip with the executable).

I took your advice and bought a few millions of this coin.
P.S.: LOL. I did intend to trigger a little frenzy if possibly by pumping the price up from 45 to 50 on the road... but 57 67 already? Shocked Nice. I didn't even finish buying as much as I planned. Grin

How does IPO work? Who can buy?

IPO is closed now. I asked my friends whether they fund my coin and I offered them an IPO. 3 of them interested. They are the IPO holders now.

Got a couple of queries for you here, why have you sold the IPO before mining even started? The ANN says it won't be sold for five days, or until daily volume equals the IPO amount, presumably to prevent dumping? So why has it been sold already?

Also, how does selling it to your friends benefit the community and the coin? Your Initial Private Offering does nothing to ensure a fair distribution, just the opposite in fact.
Less than 275,000 coins have been mined by the whole community at this moment, and your three friends have 700,000 between them. Not good.

And how much was it sold for? What was the price per GRE, how much BTC was received in total, and where is that BTC? Will you supply the address for the community?

In the interest of transparency, I thank you in advance for your reply.

So, first question, I do not understand. IPO supposed to be closed when mining starts, cause IPO is for inverstors who want to support the project, and they get coins for their trust and money. 2nd and 3rd question, makes no sense, IPO is not sold already cause we are on an exchange for a couple of hours, volume is so low that selling the IPO is impossible.

4th question: I made a Pre-Ann a week or 2 ago and all I got was negative comments, saying scam, begging letter and other not really nice things. NO ONE THOUGHT I TRUSTWORTHY ENOUGH, which is not understandable, because I gave my full name and some data about me! So as NO ONE wanted to fund my project, I asked my friends and as they know I am honest and trustworthy, they gave me the funds. So selling the IPO to my friends, was the greates help to the community, because that helped me to bring this coin to life!

5th question: The BTC and FIAT I got from my investors was exactly the amount I needed to launch this coin.

So it has it been sold to your friends then? Yes or no?

If yes, how much for? And please don't say "exactly the amount I needed", what was the IPO price for 1 GRE? If you are hoping to build a currency backed by a reserve of gold, any potential investor has the right to know ALL the details concerning the acquisition of the gold, INCLUDING how much BTC or fiat was generated from the IPO. You've proposed something quite different to the type of coin usually seen on this forum, and to succeed, it has to be transparent.

Why should he tell you how much BTC I paid?
Should it be possible for me to ask a random exchange administrator about your lifetime trade history and receive a detailed report (if there is anything in there database)?

I'm sorry, I didn't realise it was such a sensitive issue. It's a simple enough question, how much was the IPO?

It's not that kind of a sensitive issue. It's just something what reasonable people do not usually share with random strangers on the internet without a proper reason.
It's similar to asking someone to publicly post scans from their bank statements. Would you do that if I asked you? How much did you pay for your car, or your house? Can I ask the dealer on your behalf?

Did I ask for your bank statement, or the details of your mortgage or car repayments? I don't think I did.

No, just the price of a coins Initial PUBLIC Offering, information freely available to people browsing these forums for any other coin you care to mention. Information that is necessary for investors to make informed decisions. Information you seem suspiciously reluctant to share.

At the minute, with your unwillingness to answer the most simple of questions, there is no proof that you paid your friend anything for the IPO.

Oh. So it's a very simple misunderstanding then. It was an Initial PRIVATE Offering rather than an Initial Public Offering.
But wait... This was already mentioned in a post we keep quoting! In fact, you already used this word (private) yourself. So, you understood it was a private offering and yet you kept trolling me as if you though it was public!

Otherwise, the information you seek is in fact publicly available (it have been before the launch, it's just not advertised here). But I won't help you finding it.

There is no misunderstanding on my part I can assure you.

You refuse to reveal the price.

If the information isn't made public, i.e., the price of the IPO, and the address where those BTC are held, then its a scam. If everything is legitimate, then the dev should have no problem providing this information.

And where is the dev? Are you speaking for him? It's probably best if he responds, rather than his friend.

Mesterlovesz is probably sleeping right now.
I am not speaking on behalf of anybody, I am speaking for myself.

It's been a habitude of mine to buy and hold altcoins at the beginning, when they are very cheap. I have had nice profits already Wink

You just reminded me that I still have ~15 XPM which I mined with the small CPU of my GPU rig back in december for fun. So, I checked it now: it's price went down to ~1/8 an continues to decay. LOL. Tongue

I am baffled that price hasn't skyrocketed since confirmation that Masternode cold/remote setup works like a charm.
Darkcoin Devs are ahead of schedule, but are cautious so new date was set.
This is the biggest news anyone who understands what Darkcoin is about would like to hear.

This is peanuts market-cap once Darksend is released.
I just hope it hold 'till Tuesday so I can munch on this lovely price!!

I don't intend to spread any FUD but this is what I think will happen unless any significant external or internal force steps to the picture before my predicted point could be hit.

However I am not sure how people will behave as we get closer to the next hardfork. The last one failed which can cause some fear about the next. But there could also be some last-minute panic-buy before masternode payments start (however, that's also a perfect time for dumping if one feels like the need to do so...).

Valid question. Need response from dev if he is not pump and dumper.

dev and his comrades

I will let Mesterlovesz answer most of your questions but on my part I will honor your request for transparency:

Code:
GMCA4KpVbRLBYJzTPHWGxgyQTCkeBQqPfi

This address belongs to me (janos666 @ bitcointalk).

IKq+1KlOEzucKbV7wtgKm5hM2V2OkOyGCOtpgqCMQ0T6xO03MpO7A5Mi/oGwbYSS8SVDZ4TPR9+I5EL5o7dvL0A=

(You can use the GoldReserve wallet's File \ Verify message... function to validate this message which proves that I control the IPO #1 500000 GRE coins.)

I am sure you agree that Mesterlovesz did the right thing when he let me decide if I wish to reveal myself or hide my identity.
But I also prefer transparency and I understand you frustration about the IPO coins (Yeah, I have been there!), so I won't hide this information.

And I don't think neither me, nor Mesterlovesz should feel obliged to tell you how much BTC I payed him before the launch (I tend to think it's better for everybody if we keep this information between the two of us, at least for now) but I hereby grant him the right to reveal this information in case he wish to do so.

I know Mesterlovesz in person (we met face to face in real life) and he assured me that all the BTC I have paid will be fully spent for coin development.

I don't actually care about any made up rules but I assure you that I won't sell my coins on a public exchange (and I don't plan to spend them in any other way) before the time limit declared by Mesterlovesz in his opening post.
I am not stupid, I won't destroy the coin which I funded. I wish to see it developing, both in functionality and market value over the coming months and years.
I won't dump these coins for a few quick BTC and I will never sell them in a way which would significantly hurt the coin (e.g a classic dump).
I will probably never sell the entire IPO amount, only a part of it and only slowly over time, starting long after it found it's natural market value and the daily volume allows me to sell without significantly disturbing the price.

Unfortunately, I don't know the other two person with their 100k coins, but I trust in Mesterlovesz and he knows them (he assured me they won't prematurely dump those coins).

Let me know if you wish to know anything else from me and if you found my answer satisfying to your question regarding the IPO holders. I will be around.

As I say, I don't want to detract from the real business of this thread which is the coin development and can understand the frustrations of those that get sick of all this price speculation, but I feel it's important to try to bring some perspective to the debate that professional "shark" traders usually keep held close to their chests.

I don't think there is a problem with how things went through in the last ~30 days.
Crazy market movements and public price talk are both powerful tools to attract attention in the altcoin market in the early stages of the coin when raw volume is more important than quality.
More over, I think these are inevitable anyway, so what's the point in forcefully muting these topics?

And I think it's an unprecedentedly nice thing that those who often read this forum and learned which topic regulars are trustworthy and who are notorious manipulators (also useful if identified as such) receive educated advices which can help them in making better trading decisions.

we've got to separate out market stuff from development stuff (which is why I agree with the appeals for a separate "speculation" thread).

But I agree that development, price talk and general marketing should be separated topics in the future (not entirely and forcefully but they should find their own baselines and flow with that).
Of course, the marketing should still highlight development news (as I see, this is both a technical and marketing feature of DRK and I don't think that's wrong) but shouldn't be fixated on and/or limited to that and should generally ignore the price talk (even the positive ones unless it's extreme or significant and long term, like a >10x spiking or a "yearly/quarterly report" kind of analysis as a part of some publications).
