Probably. We'll see on Sunday  I am not actually sure what it is, but what actually happens after masternode is implemented? Anyone who owns an operational masternode will be paid a share of every new Darkcoin that is brought into existence through mining. and to own an operational masternode requires 1000 darkcoin? how long will it stay operational for a user to own a masternode? As long as you keep that 1000 DRK and your server up and running. |

BTC price up a fair bit today, and DRK is still rising against BTC. DRK already sucked out almost every BTC buy walls of other altcoin's, so DRK can only grow (by significant amounts) by utilizing BTC which wasn't part of the altcoin market before, meaning people probably need to buy BTC by fiat to invest into DRK (at least until a big enough fiat/DRK market emerges on a mainstream fiat/crypto exchange). |

If we talk about stealing the coins from "servers" if you have nice long strange password you can sleep well.
Oh yeah. So when kids (literally) steal $ million worth of codes (source codes of products, customer account or even the credit card informations) from huge companies (remember Valve, Sony, or recently Ebay?) with several professional security experts onboard then there is always only a weak password to blame. I guess Karpeles also had a weak password then.  |

What if people who want a MN have already bought? Will we see a weekend run? If someone wanted a MN wouldn't they be buying now instead of the weekend when/if price rises? I suppose if MN payments start working as planned people will see the value and may rush to buy.
I think they did and some of these things might follow: people start selling their first MN incomes (mostly those who could barely afford 1000 DRK and want a little BTC back asap), some "servers" running MNs will be hacked and the DRKs will be instantly sold, some people will realize this MN business is not their thing (because they give up setting up their node(s) or they read about the first stolen coins) and they will go for the quick profit instead (may be in a small panic when the buy orders are evaporating even faster than sell orders are placed). Or none of these... |

Wow. It seems like Darkcoin is a vampire which sucks out every single drop of blood from every other altcoins. May be I should be ready to pick up some DOGE and LTC when their hearts will be almost stopped, dump them after they get resurrected and then buy back that 1000 DRK I once had but can't afford anyomore. |

What's the point of placing a 8000 DRK sellwall, risking driving everything down and then just buying it yourself. Doesn't that just have an ambiguous effect at most ? I am not sure. I had a feeling about what might happened in the last ~12 hours but on a second thought that doesn't seem right. That's precisely the key, one sign of manipulation. Theory: The markets, while volatile in the short term, will self correct to find the right price. Example: I want as much drk as possible, I refuse to pay all the way up and get drk. Instead, let me shake it from weak hands. If I post a big enough sell wall, I hope people will begin to sell, while I begin to buy those orders. This happens everywhere there is 'free' markets. Yeah, I know that tactic. But it either miserably fails or it's never intended here. It's more like a guardian angel (a specifically programmed trading bot with virtually infinite ammo) is always picking up those threatening walls before they could cause panic. And it's a good question what happens to the coins but it doesn't seem like it tries to feed them back in smaller chunks at a little higher price (at least not in a few hours). I think it tries to stabilize the price around 0.014 - not higher, not lower but right there with a +/-0.001 breathing range. I wouldn't dare to guess if it's a preparation for a big pump or a huge dump or this is the only and long term purpose (to establish stability - or very slowly more that point higher). |

I've just worked out, that was a 115 BTC buy (Mintpal). There have been a hell of a lot of these huge buys at all time highs the last few days. Basically someone bought the entire 15 sellwall in 1 order. That would usually take hours or days to eat through, especially after a big rise like we've just had. What's going on ? Why are people ploughing 115 BTC into it at the all time high ? They also did this at the last peak of around 8 I think it was. Negative Theories: - it's the NSA planning to monopolise the masternode network Positive Theories: - it's bitcoin whales hedging themselves against the new wave of demand for anonymous transaction blockchains It's make your mind up time  Alternative theory: The seller and the buyer are the same person/entity. |

I think you're right. I suck at trading. But in my defense, I am looking to buy darkcoins for a good price and hold until the 25th at least.
You don't suck at trading. You're just inexperienced. Sh*t, I'm inexperienced and I've been doing it for months. I still find it very difficult and stressful to day trade even though I understand the charts. The thing is, that's not enough - you need to know about what's going on in the background, what type of market it is if it's slow or fast, pump and dump or long term growth, all kinds of things. It also ruins your family life because you've got to run from the dinner table to your PC just as the 1 hour averages look like they might be crossing over or whatever and all lights are green on your dashboard. Not a great hobby if you're in a relationship. Do you know the best way to learn ? Just accept the fact that it's going to cost something and trade with a tiny amount that you PLAN to loose. Just get into the market and see how long you can survive. Then do it again a week later and see if you can survive longer. All the time just trading tiny symbolic amounts. I did that in the Dogue market with about 0.05 Bitcoin, I managed to grow it to about 0.2 (500% gain) and then blew it all in a single bad trade. If I had been doing that with my full holdings I'd be out of cryptos. So best to go to nursery first. Ah yes. I thought I learned my lessons since December and I did relatively great lately but now I managed to make 850 from 1050 DRK in 24 hours. I sold a little too late during the last panic sell yesterday (the server repeatedly kicked me out when I tried to act), and thus I tried to wait too long to buy back slightly lower (lower than my original target before the sell problem), and then I joined the panic buy today when I woke up and looked at the charts from the bad on my phone. And then I panic-sold again with the rest of the sheeps while preparing my morning coffee, thinking I shouldn't have done that panic-buy from the bed. And then I started to realize I completely got out of control but I was still a little fuzzy, so I tried to buy back slowly as much as I could but that 700 BTC mocking on Cryptsy didn't help. So I ended up with ~850 This was one of the stupidest things I have done since I am dealing with crypto if we consider the price. Now I need to work out a solid strategy how get back to 1k with a relatively low risk of losing even more. (And they withdraw all and hide the password from myself. ) |

They are unable to count to 11 (you know, DarkCoin's algorithm is labeled as X11 for a reason and they listed less than 11 algorithms) and they think it offers PoS which is false. May be these wouldn't be that big of a deal (may be the PoS, the number the algos doesn't really matter) but how could I believe in their professionalism after recognizing these obvious errors? |
