601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 07:09:01 AM
Will you provide a direct option to purchase CRYPTI without using the escrow services that require 1% fee ?

Please provide a DEFINITIVE answer to this^^^ before the official pre-sale starts...  it won't be fair if such option is introduced later.

Having two different escrow channels, I don't expect we will introduce a direct one as it will both complicate post-presale calculations and cause some wariness in the community.

You not right about NXT. NXT code has not been obfuscated, in at least in December-February.
I decompiled NXT, changed the code and launched its as own version of NXT for various experiments.
NXT was in fact open-source.

I have question about Crypti client.
1. Can you describe how difficult it is to run it?
Can I run it in one click as bitcoin QT? Do I need to install any dependencies?
Can I launch it using binary launcher?
2. What size of setup file?

I remember that that some users did not like the way the NXT launch (by jar file), they had some problems with it (for example with version of jre).

I'm aware of it, and you could actually try to do the same with Crypti code, once the Crypti node is released to download after the pre-sale ends.
That said, a de-obfuscated version should be hard enough to work with, still giving competitive advantage entry against clones.

We working to make it a one-click install / launch operation, so you just could download an installer (probably NSIS based) and be good to go.
Further details will be provided onwards.

Thanks for answering my questions.

It seems that dev team will be successful in raising a relatively significant amount of BTC with this distribution model.

Will this all go into an visible account where the investors can see the movement?
Who will actually have control over this?
What is to stop anyone from taking it and dropping the project?
What is there to incentivize the dev team to carry on developing if they get paid upfront?

Do you have a solution for the devfund safety that I have missed?

It's a very good concern, as we all got burned by such "IPO"'s, our first priority was to ensure Crypti will be a long-term operation.

We have studied other successful cryptos models (NXT, BC, XCP, etc...), and the solution is having a strong Foundation, having members both from the launch team and from the community, that controls the decision making, the raised funds and the developers vested Crypti, and is committed to the cause of evolving Crypti to become the leading eCommerce crypto, implementing the right product, technology and marketing decisions.

Once Crypti pre-sale will be over, all raised BTC and vested Crypti's will be moved to publicly available accounts that everyone can monitor.
The Foundation will begin with the election process (based on part on the public voting) to fulfill the roles. The Foundation will have the right to replace the non-performing members or/and developers, thus always keeping the buyers best interests on top of the priorities.

GreXX actually is working hard on the Foundation charter document, and we hope to present it to the community reviews in the coming days.

What is the reasoning for only releasing wallet or code after the presale?
What is the reasoning for giving bonus for early buying?
I dont understand.

Why cant we see what we investing in and why try to force people to invest early without this knowledge?

Wallet is already available, you can check the test version, which is constantly being improved.

Code will be released in quarterly milestones, in order to give competitive advantage against clones (this actually how NXT did as well).

Bonus is given to encourage people not to wait for the last minute and try to catch a bigger piece of total stake (as we see it happening many times).
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 05:51:36 AM
The bonus works for bter too?
As i know yes, but i need SyRenity to accept my answer too.
Can you please confirm BTER early investment bonus ASAP.

Yes, it is.
606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 05:49:21 AM
There will be 5,000 BTC volume on bter, there will be no profit for investor, on doubt.

As explained earlier, CRSALE are just sale tokens and won't be trade-able, hence there is no "volume" per se.
The number was set completely arbitrary to make sure we won't need to expand the sale order in the middle of the run.
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 05:47:09 AM
After got the meaning of bter's announcement, my suggestion, stay away from this coin!

And what meaning exactly you got that caused you to reach this conclusion, if I may ask so?
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 05:44:48 AM
Will it be a dedicated client (something like a QT) that completely operates locally or will it just be a local interface that communicates with the web wallet?

It will be a full featured Crypti node with the web-wallet bundled, that you will be able to download and run from your computer or server. It actually intended to be used that way, so you could get transaction fee rewards according to Proof of Time.
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 05:40:16 AM
As best I can tell the way BTER has set up the escrow and pre-sale is to equate 1 CRSALE to 1 BTC so that it will log the amount as exactly what you invested.

So if you invest .5 BTC, that will get equated to your stake of the pre-sale total.

Once the pre-sale ledger is available, you will be able to see exactly where you stand in the rankings as far as invested amount & what it would currently get you in the pre-sale.

For now, when you invest with BTER, the amount of CRSALE you have will be how much BTC you invested in the pre-sale which will be calculated after the 30 days to see what the final distribution to you will be based on your percentage of total investments.

This is correct, CRSALE is basically a sale token which will be used to distribute Crypti once the pre-sale is over.
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 05:35:24 AM
As far as I am aware, bonus % will be provided no matter the method of investment based on day and time of investment. BTER logs the date and time of purchase so they can provide us with that information to calculate bonus % before distribution.

This is correct.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 05:34:36 AM
What about SSL?

Will be added soon, note that you can generate the Crypti address anytime before you withdraw / claim the Crypti's after the pre-sale.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 10, 2014, 05:22:13 AM
If for some reason BTER has started taking investments already, and not all of you can get on BTER right away to invest, or would like to wait for Maxmint as an escrow agent, I promise you we will make sure that everyone who intended to invest on day 1 for the 30% will be granted the proper bonus.

I apologize for the confusion as this all kind of fell into place last minute. I know that the last day has been a bit of a whirlwind and we will make sure that we address any issues.

I confirm, it appears that Bter somehow missed my notification to push the pre-sale start by 24 hours, and started as originally planned at July 10th 00:00.
That said and as per the original plan, we will start counting bonus from July 11th, 00:00, (basically just giving bter users two full bonus days).

We apologize for any confusion this might have caused.

On the bright side, 46 BTC sold within 5 hours is very encouraging, and we are excited to look forward to how the sale will proceed.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 09, 2014, 07:40:58 PM
No, they will just treat your BTC like it is the amount you sent + x%. (at least that is how I would do it)

So, if you spend 1 BTC in the first week it will be treated at 1.3 (30%) BTC.

At least, that seems the easiest way to make the math work. It won't change the total that is distributed and none will be held back.

Correct, and the bonus will linearly decrease by 1% every day, allowing for an easy estimation.
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 09, 2014, 07:23:21 PM
well BTER is a last minute announcement. And it will cost me 1.4% to withdraw now. So, I guess I'll just buy Nxt with it.

Also, do you think the CRY will be free to withdraw from BTER? I expect they aren't doing this out of the goodness of their hearts.

Sorry to hear that, we are still open to Dgex, if they decide to re-join the pre-sale.

Bter clarified that the withdrawal will be 1% + 1 Crypti, we will update it in the OP.
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 09, 2014, 06:27:00 PM
...and dgex. Thanks, I clarified my post.

Actually dgex has elected not to participate in the pre-sale for the moment, however we agreed together that they will be able to join any time they want, both to pre-sale and to post-sale trading.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 09, 2014, 06:24:27 PM
Last pre-sale updates

  • Pre-sale start was schedulled to July 11th 00:00, to give an additional preparation time for the buyers
  • Cap per investor was set to 2% of total raised
  • Dgex has chosen not to participate at the pre-sale for the moment, however they may join later on

The ANN op will be updated with these details and pre-sale instructions soon.
We also now sending announcement emails to everyone who registered on the site.
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 09, 2014, 06:20:23 PM
They would put it into your CRYPTI balance on the exchange I assume.

So, they have the amount you spent on CRSALE and the date you made it. Crypti DEVS send 100% of the CRYPTI coin to BTER's wallet. BTER then distributes to your CRYTPI balance based on that information and the IPO info provided to them from the Crypti devs. Then you withdraw the money to your wallet.

Very true, the only remarks is that Crypti will divided between Bter and Maxmint, giving buyers both options to work with.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 09, 2014, 02:40:18 PM
Sorry if this was answered here, but are you going to cap the IPO to 500BTC ? or is it going to be unlimited ?

After multiple discussions, we decided to leave it uncapped to avoid blocking latecomers, and to ensure a good initial distribution for Crypti.

There will be a cap per investor (currently 10% of total volume, we are discussing to lower it further).
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 09, 2014, 02:38:18 PM
BTER is based in China.   Bitcoin is illegal in China.  You risk having your BTC locked out by the China Firewall or confiscated by the Chinese National Police.

Nor do you have a recourse if your coins are stolen.

BTER has had many coins stolen.  they want you to use GOOGLE two factor authentication, which you will have to installon yor smartphone.

And still the top exchange is China based...

Any evidence to Bter "stealing" any coins, before you throw these accusations?

Also, two factor authentication is actually a very good security measure, and practically is a standard today.

So, after agreeing to publish the pre-sale start time 1-2 days in advance, you turn right around and give us 14 hours notice.

Between that, and all the delays, this whole thing is turning into a real shit show. I've been following this from the beginning, but I'm really starting to second guess my interest in this coin.

Have you read the following:
Quote
aiming to start the pre-sale at 10/7, 00:00 UTC, final date will be published later

We are still considering this, and will take any community wishes into account (as we always did).
