Can someone clarify why voting on 1 is such a great idea (and so aggressively promoted here)?
Voting low will decrease the coin supply, and once you have a price set, lower supply gives more time for demand to build up. If you pair that with good development and promotion, demand raises, beats supply and that pushes price up. Thanks for the clear explanation. Do I need to keep the wallet app running for that, or enough just to change and save?

Congrats for getting into coinmarketcap, and great first 24h volume on mintpal!

2. This is not something that users should have to deal with - there needs to be a cleaner solution - the wallet should just work out of the box without users needing to tweak with other software installed on their system.
Just a quick suggestion (I was involved in development of desktop app for a mass market in past, which also had same considerations) - please consider using SQLite. It will give you same capabilities, minus all the distribution and installation headache that SQL server compact will introduce. You only need to bundle a single DLL to make it work, and there is also an ADO provider (which seems to be useful in your case): http://system.data.sqlite.org/index.html/doc/trunk/www/index.wikiHTH.

A new post-based distribution? Count me in .

Just saw a chat with RS on MCXNOW, and I don't think we will see XCP there anytime soon, if not ever. I won't even copy / paste what was mentioned, that was brutal.
Who's RS? RealSolid..owner And was so bad about XCP, that he didn't want to include it?

By doing so, another 10 BTC can be injected into the pool, and hence fairer distribution, without having to add more BTC value to the pot and diluting it further.
Will these sales update the distribution charts here? http://heavycoin.github.io/ipo-calculator.html

Good news, everyone!
The hacker (a bit of a misnomer, as he has pointed out) returned 50 BTC, and I have just distributed it to affected users. Looks like the other 65 will be sent, too.
Awesome news! Seems you can start considering about lowering those fees back to normal again .

Well, you gotta give people heads up before launching the IPO. It's fair that way.. Or else, there will be many accusations of you benefiting your close friends and your inner circle, instead of a public offering. People need time to convert usd to bitcoin/dogecoin. Some exchanges take a few days before the credit shows up
+1!

Just wondering, but why not use an established full service provider like MediaTemple?
Unsure about their BTC policy, and really don't want to be suddenly booted out during the launch.

Actually my goals are much more modest - just keeping an ASIC store up and running (the payment will be handled by coinbase or bips anyhow).
I do want to take into account a possible DDos attack (you never know who you might get angry these days), but I presume that with CloudFlare I should be fine?
What you would use - AWS or VPS (DO or Linode, who appear go give a much better web site response times)?

Anyone can advise?
Also, what regarding VPS providers, such as DO or Linode?
Thanks.

Ok but so what is the end result ?
I guess a BTC crash on near-term, and stabilization on a long term.
