At this time forging is set to random! So just by being online, you are able to generate a block!

It will take us a couple of weeks to fully integrate the PoA algorithm in the client!

Check the functional part in the white paper!

The PoA forging algorithm is really interesting, kinda innovative. But I have several questions:

1. Will I have to send ANY amount of Nodes during 24h (as stated in a whitepaper) to forge something? Or is it just a feature adding some points to my Nodeheight?

2. Does the network track and record somehow the IP address of each node besides its Nodeheight? I think there might be a vulnerability:
What stops us from cheating the system by creating several wallets with different addresses on our machines, turning them on and wait until each of them forge something?
It can be easily done by creating several virtual machines each having their own wallet switched on...
So in this case the Nodeheight will be determined for each wallet separately. Am I right?

You just deleted the Skillroad's post, can I ask why?

His account got hacked, so no reason to keep them!
Can you prove that? Why should I believe you?
If you are together playing some farce, you will really hurt your investors.

ok, i have no reason to lie, how would you like me to prove that???

TheRealSilk - his new account!

Ok, I guess it all started at NEM discussion thread: too many accounts have been hacked recently by visiting phishing site ...bilcointalk.org.. so SillkRoad was a NEM stakeholder?
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - 2n Gen. CryptoCurrency build from SCRATCH on NODE.JS - Brand NEW! on: September 15, 2014, 02:14:46 PM
@koop4u at least release the whitepaper just to get some confidence from investors. if it is hard to translate release it in Russian.

Sorry guys!

I know, from your point of view a translation is no big deal! But it went back and forth due to some minor by time consuming issues!

Mostly by miscommunication!

Please bear with me, a little more time is needed!

Thank you for understanding!
А можно хотя бы одним глазком подглядеть, что уже хотя бы было написано по-русски? PM me a link, I won't show it to anyone, I promise  Wink

I want to sell some coins @70 sat. PM me if interested.

Why, what is happening ?

Nothing, but I need some "pocket money"  Grin
but as well, did not understand
now we have to guess if:
1. the account got hacked;
2. devs want to drop the price by scaring stakeholders  to buy some cheap coins (look at the whale at 50 sat. at bter);
3. he didn't mean anything bad, but really wanted to sell some 'cause he got lots of it and really doesn't care about the price;
4. worst scenario: project is abandoned and there's nothing more to do here...

My guess is n. 2. Will hold my stake anyway  Tongue

Bro, be patient.
SillkRoad has said they even worked at weekend.
I think it is time for them to have a full weekend now.
And they are preparing for the whitepaper, they first write it in Russian, then translate it into english.
Sad
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Crowdsale has begun[Updates & Discussion] on: September 14, 2014, 01:46:55 PM
Can someone help me please. I'm not super tech savvy.

I've trying to access my NXT wallet for a couple of weeks to no avail. Before logging into my account I get the following message...

A new version of the Nxt client is available (1.2.6). Would you like to update?

When I click OK, I get this message. The hash of the downloaded update does not equal the one supplied by the blockchain. Aborting update.

Then if I log in it just downloads the block chain for hours without me being able to do anything within the wallet.

Anyone else having this problem?  Thanks in advance for any help.
I had the same problem before I completely uninstalled the wallet and installed a newer version Smiley

I was also PMd a phishing link from Zahlen (seems hacked) with "Important news about NEM Open Alpha" which really looks like leading to bitcointalk though:
1. the site was unsecure (not https://);
2. bilcointalk.org (not bitcointalk.org).

damn scamers Angry

Devs, you said the whitepaper is coming out soon, but I want to know one thing: is it possible right now to forge only through the online wallet? I'm asking because the offline one seems not to sync at all after you enter your passphrase. And does the forging looks the same as in NXT: the more coins you have the faster you earn new ones?  Huh
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - 2n Gen. CryptoCurrency build from SCRATCH on NODE.JS - Brand NEW! on: September 14, 2014, 11:25:34 AM
There's a 15% promotion fund.  Promotion is key so I hope the development team takes this into consideration and/or readers keep this idea fresh.  NODE developers should try to feel more ambitious, maybe they're sitting on the next Yandex.
How much can the development team put aside for a give away on VK / Vkontakte?
VK's users are mostly (i guess not less than 80%) from Russian Federation where the cryptocurrency status for now more not legitimate than accepted. Many shops supporting bitcoin had to exclude it, exchanges closed or moved to other countries due to the pressure from the power structures.
So I bet VK won't support it in any way.

Hey has anyone noticed that the NODE logo is pretty much exactly the share icon on youtube ?
I hope there's no lawsuit incoming Smiley

Hope so either. On android devices the "share" button also looks the same.. seems like it's google's logo..
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 19, 2014, 11:19:20 AM
What if some dark hacker makes a bot to create fb accounts,emails and simulates autoclicks?

Then all this becomes injustice, he could get hundred of thousands stellars
It won't work, newly created fb accounts are not eligible to get free stellars. The facebook account must have some friends, photos, and should not be new.

Also should be phone verified. facebook has really strict restrictions about it's phone verification.

You are right at some point, but look at that: a guy (everettworth)  who has already collected 2 million stellars using "fake" accounts.
Here's an article (in russian): http://xakep.ru/news/stellars-mechanical-turk/
In common it's about he was using Amazon Mechanical Turk service to do that by
placing a task and reward for completing it.

The task was quite simple:
1. register on stellar.org;
2. verify your unique account via facebook;
3. get 6000 stellars and send them to his adress.

The reward for completing the task was 1-2$ which means he paid for it approximately from 343$ to 685$. And now 2m stellars value is 4230$, so he made profit  Smiley

...
end offtopic
Check the message above first.
My identity is revealed: facebook account+e-mail+nickname.. well, no problem. Hope just they won't give or trade my personal data somewhere else...
I'm worried more about their distribution model, though I believe in this project's success.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 15, 2014, 06:52:42 AM
after waiting for a week I finally get the stellar,
and the stellar amount is ......... 75 coin haha  Angry

I got 125 stellars for facebook account and e-mail verification... It's worth 0.3$. Soo... I'm rich!! Yeeehaa! Gonna buy Bentley now.

It's not 10$ anymore as it's said here:  https://forum.stellar.org/t/stellar-updates/1026.
Just revealed my identity for FREE. Nice job, devs...

Well the intended goal for the facebook verification is to get users to test their system, 100 stellars is enough to do that.. then if you are so worried about your identity and you valued it in 10 dollars then you have a problem
Actually I don't care about identity.. The problem is that devs are hiding something (or even cheating). I will explain why:

1) They claimed to distribute 50% of all coins (that's 50kkk), but for the moment it's just ~1kkk. And it seems they stoped the distribution for some reason ('cause only 5 ppl left in the waiting list). So, how do they suppose to distribute the rest 49kkk? Sell it? If not and they continue the distribution by giving exactly 125 stellars, they will need 392 millions of people! Lol?   Huh

2) 125 stellars is really enough to test the net, but it's not 10$ as it was supposed to be, so I feel cheated..  Angry
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 14, 2014, 06:50:09 PM
How do you think,stellar rises up,or exchange to btc now???
It will. My guess is that it's gonna be somewhere in the top 10 coins list with a market cap of 10kk - 30kk$.. with a price for 1 stellar from 0,01$ to 0,03$ in the next 3 months.

@ Announcement

Due to a flag from our community members https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=590421.msg8233107#msg8233107 , we decided to cancel the voting - as it is compromised! And there is a reason to believe that people will recur to TOR in order to get more votes, as it did happen with the puppet fiasco!

I guess we wore naive, to believe that people won't do such kind of moves on a voting platform to just select a slogan!

The voting platform is cool, but cheating is not!

So we call off the voting!

Glad I was heared  Wink

NODE - Your money, your way

The most important thing about it is that it captures the essence of Node.
I like it, very good one Cheesy

6% Node simple and safe payments.
This tells me what I could use NODE immediately for. If I want to pay online, I can use NODE. Maybe "NODE - simple & secure online payments"

I like this one. It really shows us what Node is.

5% NODE - Be your own bank
5% NODE - Become your own bank

The goal of a  bank is to credit someone or give interest to those who make deposits there. And it's definitely not what Node platform does.

Devs, I would really suggest you to take a slogan, which can tell us at least something about Node, a slogan which will give us a motivation to use it, some push, it must be simple and easy to remember, the slogan, which will give us emotions. Not just "Best code".. well, I don't know, sounds too arrogant, I think, because you know nothing is perfect... or "NODE - It's DONE"... ok, "it's done", so what's next?

Besides I guess that some slogan makers can cheat, I mean they can go to a voting site and give themselves indefinite votes (to win) every time changing their IP by using Tor, for example, so I woudn't believe those votes... btw, when I was writing this, I tried to do it myself and guess what? It works! So stop it, please, and choose a slogan by yourself, the one YOU like the most  Wink.
