The LEPAs have 18 AWG PCIE cables or 16 AWG?

The Lepas are multi-rail  you will need to be careful when you hook them up.

here is a review

I concur.  They are temper-mental due to not being single rail but quality and performance none the less.
182  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Open frame rig on: March 09, 2016, 04:15:11 PM
Keep in mind with 6 gpu you may need 2 power supplies.
Really try p.v.c. and 2 hours of your time.  It will take a couple days to work all the kinks out of the rig and software.
183  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling mining hardware tips? on: March 04, 2016, 08:15:57 PM
I have a lot of experience selling miners on eBay.  It comes down to this:

If in US; don't ship outside the continental US.

Don't sell to anyone with bad or low feedback.

Anticipate every possible failure a new miner might have and explain it in your description.

Take actual pictures of each miner including serial numbers, and miner gui screenshots.

List each miner as rated at what GH it typically mines at; not the retail rating.

Clearly state you do not accept returns.

Clearly state your shipping and handling time; and always ship within your handling time.

Include lan cable and jumper switch if possible.

Clearly state what type of PSU is needed, and make recommendations.

MOST OF ALL; know that the best time to sell is also the most likely time you will get screwed.  Choose a price that gives you a small profit or is an even trade; and reasonable miners will buy from you.  Choose a high price and you will only attract scammers and delusional noobs.  If you want to sell miners as a business; make your own website and don't accept PayPal.

Barring the S5+, the S7 is probably the worst miner to sell on eBay; due to its 10x pcie, specific power on sequence (with multiple psu's), need to be set to a manual fan speed, voltage sensitivity, lack of a front fan grill, propensity of individual heatsinks to fall off in shipment, and most importantly high individual unit value.

Agreed.  EBay buyers usually will pay more but shipping can kill you. . be careful.  C.L. is good, no shipping, but harder to sell for what asking price is.  The forum knows the going price and will always try to make a deal in their favor.  It just depends on what are you willing to sell them for to find where to sell.
184  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] 2x Raspberry PI 2 - 1Gb Quad Core on: March 04, 2016, 06:23:19 PM
Why the Pi2, the Pi3 is out for the same price from MCM electronics.  64 bit and twice the performance.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 03, 2016, 08:45:49 PM
Wow... Increasing by a dollar+ a day is huge, surpassing Litecoin even more.  It has a strong backing and since it's gpu based many larger companies won't hop in.
186  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Used and dead laptop or power tool batteries on: March 03, 2016, 08:12:42 PM
Great and much appreciated post.  I will check, may have a few.  I hope your venture makes some smiles to the kids.

Why not build your own out of p.v.c. for $15-$20 at your local hardware store.  Videos on YouTube for help.  I've built 3 took about 1 hour with paint.  Easy money.

I don't see the relevance of your above post since we are dealing with the original op.  But good to be aware of mispelled names I suppose.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Etherium mining concerns on: February 29, 2016, 08:16:35 PM
I tried to get solo up and running but found pool setup to work without issues.  Nano pool does fluctuate with extreme spikes, thought it was my settings.  I find Ethereum to be a challenge due to scattered bits of info and guides that are too general.  Much like any new crypto I suppose.
190  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Community Miner Design Discussion on: February 26, 2016, 09:55:11 PM
You know these open talks with Bitfury sure is refreshing.
I had my mind made up that they never again would engage the community.
191  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar array starting to look good. on: February 26, 2016, 08:16:39 PM
Enjoying the progress...  Drool.....
Too bad the weather doesn't permit this every where in the U.S. to make it worth it.
What is worth it.... The inevitable move!

Look forward for more.

Unless I'm mislead ( depending on initial costs and utilities ) it is very profitable right now.  Yes I know difficulty and price fluctuation always play a part but hey that's the name of the game.  Sure blocks were easier awhile back but if you already have the rigs... why not?  Is there something I'm missing?
193  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Community Miner Design Discussion on: February 24, 2016, 06:18:13 PM
A little late to the discussion but very pleased to hear Notfuzzywarm and jstefanop are in talks with sidehack.  Great pool of minds and collective..   Wink
194  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Single Red and Black wires w/ connector on BITMAIN's AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU on: February 24, 2016, 06:31:21 AM
If I can remember correctly it was used to power the controller for the hashing boards when I used it on my S4.

The best $100 spent in some time.

196  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BitFury has the No. 1 Crown for Now... on: February 13, 2016, 02:04:06 PM
Why has Bitfury been behind closed doors for so long?  Is it because it was profitable to self mine and support product to other data centers.  The halving and difficulty must play a part in this, oh and can't forget the cost of the new chip development.
I'm not a basher, I am extremely excited to have this come to market.  I just hate the fact they left the home miner without any options to buy their product until now.

Will be waiting to see if they will indeed sell chips to Sidehack.  That's the game changer.
197  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jan 11 to Feb 11 Sidehack Compac Stick pool new 30 day run. Club to close Feb 12 on: February 13, 2016, 02:45:28 AM
Thanks for your continued efforts and support.
I agree it made it that much more fun being part of the group, albeit the flashy light thingies.
" When your Cool the sun shines on you 24 hrs a day", may this be true.
I await the next projects that may pop up.
To that I say adieu!
198  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: CWM - Project cancellation datawarehouse...lack of funds...400 S4s For Sale on: February 10, 2016, 08:22:17 PM
These are $50+ to ship just across the U.S., $60-$80 to Canada from U.S..  Could only assume shipping costs from you to North America would be almost equal cost to the actual unit itself.
Try and find a distributor to buy in bulk or your going to have to keep them on your continent.
6 months ago or more would have had more opportunity.
199  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The New SHA-256 Asic Miner 14nm B-ELEVEN on: January 30, 2016, 04:35:09 AM
True but as we can see the price per gigahash is now half of what it was from that thread.

A system where your Internet Reputation™ is essentially your financial reputation? This hardly sounds like a trustless model to me anyway.
It needs to start sometime/somewhere or are you satisfied with the safety and trust of the btc community and internet?
