There has to be the same amount of GPUs on both rigs to get an accurate comparison of performance.  especially on windows systems and especially with teamviewer running.

All of you regulars know of it of course, but many new investors and miners only know of the Gox.

Join Coinbase .  Hassle free, no waiting to verify.  Purchase Bitcoins instantly and get deposits to your bank in 3-4 days.  No hassle, no fuss!  And yes they've been around for a while and are perfectly legit.

627  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Residential Limit 15amp or 20amp? on: February 11, 2014, 03:16:55 AM

Thanks man I very much appreciate your help.  When I move I am just going to get the 400amp right off the bat.  I was wondering one more thing though.  I am staying in a townhouse right now and the owner said I can have a few changes made as long as I have it put back before I leave.  So for now I need more juice.  I uploaded pics of my box.  Are you able to tell how many amps it is?  And also, are those double breakers 240v? if not would I be able to have one of them switched out one of them for a 240v?  The baseboard heater I never use and it has dual 20s.  What do you think?

Yes the Double breakers are 240v.  Do you have a clothes dryer or electric stove in your apartment? Unless you want to set the equipment right below the panel  I cannot tell you exactly how many amps you have serving your panel.  The best I can tell you is you have at the most 100amps.

Yeah, there is washer/dryer and all the appliances, everything is electric and we are able to run everything at once, washer/dryer/stove/dishwasher/water heater/all rooms/etc.  The breakers in the box add up to over 250amps.  There is a double 40, two double 30s, a double 20, a double 15, and then then standard lot of random 15's and 20's

I say we lessen the block reward.
IMO 4.000 block reward and that gravity thing to retarget the difficulty, we should get our opinions and do some vote! call the dev's!!!!
This coin is dead and the dev's are gone too.

Stealcoin, go somewhere else and troll please.  The Dev's are alive and working on some major projects -> as they should be.

Concerning block reward and 1 block re-target:

Kimoto Gravity well is not a bad idea.  The re-target time is already quite reasonable, however, and I am not convinced that such a drastic change in order to appease the current miners makes sense.  But what do I know? Smiley

I am against a change to the block reward.  I think there is a slight disconnect in how this all works.  In the beginning of a coins life, measured in months and years, the coin goes through a period of inflation.  This is necessary, as the total money supply that the entire user base will ultimately use is minted during this period.  At this stage of the life-cycle, there were no exchanges and you couldn't buy a toothpick with Bitcoins.  This is the time period when real wealth is created in a crypto; the problem is that this wealth isn't measured by the current exchange rate.  The coin doesn't enter the period of deflation, and large-scale adoption, until much later in the coin's life-cycle.  Long after the speculators have left for what seems like a greener pasture, minting will naturally slow and the coin will begin appreciating in value.  It is then that the dedication of those who have mined the coin since the beginning profit.  This is an investment that lasts years, not days.

That makes good sense.

Ok here is what Goldcoin did when they lowered their block reward from 500 to 50.  A couple weeks later instant surge to the moon.  Of course it dropped back down aftwards but the new baseline was still 10-30x higher.  Mind you, this was with a coin most of the community hated.  Everyone LOVES Digibyte.

I'm confused why the OP can't see that this isn't ignorant, condescending and accusational:

Quote
seriously? so how are you different from all the other scammers out there selling stuff that doesn’t exist?

how about posting when you have them in hand

OP, you REALLY need to work on your communication skills, because they SUCK.

My inquiry was ALL of these things, this is part of how the business world works, asshole customers are every where.

Any real business professional would have jumped at the opportunity to gain another customer by outlining who they were and how they did business.

This isn't walmart, newegg, or amazon.  This is special market with very special rewards.  The makers/sellers of these products are essentially handing out gold.  If they don't like your attitude they have every right to tell you to piss off.

Bitcoin is crashing! read it https://www.mtgox.com/press_release_20140210.html and buy some DigiByte as fast as you can!!! hold all you have and sell your BTC's

Bitcoin isn't crashing nor is it going anywhere just because of Mt Gox.  Mt Gox takes way too long to transfer cash and people should be using Coinbase or the likes anyway.  Mt Gox really has jack shit to do with the value of the coin.  The value is in it's service, accomplishments, and everything that is in the making and planned for the future, ATMs, wider merchant acceptance, etc.

The millionaire pump and dumpers of bitcoin haven't been able to push it below 600ish since the rise.  Which says a lot in terms of the volume of buy orders waiting to be filled.

Bitcoin is here to stay.  And believe me, you want it to be.  Afterall it is what we sell our altcoins for.  I do look forward to the day that some alts can be traded for cash though.
i do know about what bitcoin is or can be but MtGox are claiming that BTC has a flaw in its software and  had frozed all BTC withdraws, something caused by double spending by some users who discovered the flaw into BTC code and theyr exchange...

Yes, just be careful with your words, we want to refrain from scaring people thus creating a bunch of panic sells causing it to really crash.  Smiley

That is a lot of info, and exactly what I was looking for! Thank you SO much!

Agreed!  Thank you DeathAndTaxes.

I was wondering something really quick and also goes with the note of starting smaller.  If I get a house that comes with 200amp service, lets say I want to setup a subpanel and run 3 30amp breakers, would turning that subpanel box into a 240v be a complicated or rather simple task?  I will hire a pro to do it of course, I just want to get an idea if I could easily run 3 30amp 240v breakers for a bit right off the bat without many complications before eventually upgrading to 400amp service, etc.

If you install a sub panel, It is going to be 240v.  I have never seen an electrician install 120v sub panel.  you are going to need to run 100amp sub panel. Not a difficult task, however some panels are not made to install a 100amp breaker in them.  If that is the case you will need to replace your primary panel or install a 200amp "sub"panel and feed it directly off the meter (if your meter has overcurrent protection, otherwise you are looking at a new meter can), although it technically wouldn't be a sub panel then.

When you upgrade to 400amp are you going to feed more power to your sub panel or add an additional one?  A 200amp service should be able to run 4 or 5 30amp twist locks and the rest of a house pretty easily. (unless you have one of those electric instant hot water heaters).

What is your long term plan.  I would hate to see you waste alot of money for something temporary.

If someone called my business a scam I wouldn't want them as a customer because I would consider them as being a possible pain in the ass in the future.

We all understand where you are coming from.  Just saying.

If it was me, I would of stopped replying, way better than telling him to go away.

Pretty much.

640  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PSU requirements for a cheap GPU mining setup on: February 09, 2014, 11:06:02 PM
Why does the risers molex have to be on the same PSU than the mainboard?

Problems can sometimes arise if you don't.  The mobo draws that power normally without risers, so when you use risers it is suitable to continue that task for the mobo psu.
