We already have it - any account with 1 NXT can forge. Odds to find a block is another question.

The purpose of my proposal is to "change the odds" (in favour of the small stake holder).

For example, with 2358 Nxt I can forge the next block in 345 days.

and I believe that the reward will be 0 nxt, in my opinion it is not right  this is not EQUALITY  Undecided

I do not understand. You create only 1 block per year. What exactly do you expect? 1000 NXTs for that?

I recently pondered about the discussion of inequality. I think it only stems from a perceived stagnation of the value associated with the amount of NXT a person has.

Let A be amount of NXTs and t1 and t2 two different timestamps. Humans cannot clearly see why A@t1 and A@t2 is a different value (in terms of goods one could buy with them). They just see A. They'd rather have a higher amount in their account (like interest in bank accounts).

One should teach people that NXT is deflationary (will they understand?). The increase in value is achieved indirectly and not by changing digits of the account balance.

No , but i expect at least 10-20 Nxt .. i'm helping the community and when i forge one block and the reward is 0 Nxt... i'm so angry  Grin

SWARM NEEDED

Here is the reddit post, please everyone sign up at Bittrex.

Hello NXT community,

I solicited feedback on another thread about which coins we should support on our exchange before our public launch. NXT was overwhelmingly recommended.

Before we make the final decision, we're providing a special invite code for NXT users to experience our site first hand. Go to https://bittrex.com/Account/Register and use SUPPORT_NXT as the invite code. This gets you past the invite code queue. Place some trades, enabled 2FA, or try any of our other features to help us stress the site before the final launch. If you find a bug, we're handing out bug bounties as well. Having a great exchange helps us but also helps the NXT community.

If we get 100 signs ups using that code and active on our site, we'll add NXT before our public launch.

Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback, Bill

Just a reminder for everyone who hasn't already to please sign up for Bittrex.  Will also update everyone on Atomic Trade soon.  Thank you

68 signups as of this mornings, we need 32 more people to sign up at Bittrex, please do so if you have not.  Thank you.

Done  Wink .

In ~8 hours I'm planning to reload the testnet, balances will be reset.

Hi Cfb , at the moment I still have 30k  TestNxt in my account :   4940924250576724047

And the most important feature:
The network can detect which miners don't take part in block generation and act accordingly.

The last point deserves to be described with more details.

Imagine someone is going to do a "51%" attack against Nxt and he owns 90% of all coins. The adversary must stop generating blocks for legit branch coz he won't be able to compete against 100% mining power with his 90%. So he decides to "skip" his turn to generate a block. The rest 10% of the network detects this and penalizes the adversary by setting his mining power to 0 and distributing it among other miners. Now the network is back to 100% power coz everyone got 10-fold increase. The adversary can mine other branch in a secret place but it won't be able to replace the legit branch. Of course, the 2nd branch will have 100% "hashing" power tied to it as well, coz the attacker will get his 90% bumped to 100% but this can be counteracted by some mechanisms of advanced consensus (still not revealed).

As a 100% PoS currency Nxt is protected against a government wealthy entity that could buy/produce a lot of ASICs, with the transparent mining it's protected even against someone buying most of the coins.

So, what does make Nxt a really next-gen currency? Not those nice features like decentralized exchange, or decentralized DNS, or decentralized app store. The transparent mining algo does, and this is only the 1st part of BCNext's plan...

So the idea is, that the above is nonsense?

the thought of CFb is right,  it must be said that those who have few nxt is still penalized.

Again, Nxt is not about mining mentality. If you like mining go to doge. Even the initial stakeholders invested 1 bitcoin to get 50 mill Nxt (I so jealous)

And everyone since had to BUY or earn Nxt. So we are valuing nxt in its appreciation not in mining rewards. How many times does it have to be said?

Forging is more of a civic duty to protect the network because you love and believe in nxt if not for the protection of your investment. So you

have 2k nxt why should u forge as much as someone with 2 million? Prudential is paying a dividend of 53 cents on March 20. If I have 100 shares

I will receive 53 dollars. The guy with 1 million shares will receive 530,000 dollars.  So according to your way of thinking it is not fair and I

should receive 530,000 dollars for my 100 shares. The sooner the few existing and brand new nxters understand this the better.

For the record I got into nxt late (imo) and bought as much as I could afford at various times between 4-7 cents. I have 300k nxt. To me that is not

nearly enough for me but is all I can afford. I'm working on buying more as soon as I can. I have been forging everyday and have only forged less

than 10 nxt. And I couldn't be happier.

edit: Thank you very much mysterious 7017504655955743955.

So what are the nextcoin? if you can not forge what they do?
10339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 23, 2014, 03:50:41 PM
Is it some kind of giveaway? Smiley
Yes it's a secret.

I like secrets Smiley Maybe there are more secrets? Looks like that all this comes from unclaimed coins divided to 3 funds. Is it?

That nxt coming from one of the 73 stakeholders
10340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 23, 2014, 03:49:24 PM
I doubt it also - but I do think we can address the Sybil attack vector much as with "hallmarking".

I am only trying to *help* but for sure my idea might not be the best one.

In the end we'll end having 1'000'000'000 IP addresses coz a guy with 5172 NXT will create 5172 accounts. So in the end we'll come back to the beginning.

Edit: A good name for this project has just come to my mind - Uroboros.  Cheesy

so what is the best solution?
