Little summary for the average joe like me who will need to make nrs ready on windows7, please complete if needed : * download last NRS (message 1 page 1 of this thread) * unzip * install last java client if needed * create .bat file with notepad++ code: "c:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -cp nxt.jar;lib\*;conf nxt.Nxt *install this .bat in the main nrs folder unzipped earlier * double click on your new .bat file * wait a bit * in your browser, enter these adresses: http://localhost:7876/admin.htmlhttp://localhost:7876/alias.htmlI know it seems a crap step by step but it may be usefull to some, there are clients but people need to understand a bit how to use Jean-Luc work. BlackCoin claims to be the first pure PoS coin.
However NXT is around a bit longer and also purely PoS, they also took the effort to build a whole new client (is that a good thing??)
On the other hand, BC is doing something well regarding the prices.

We need more testing. The first of the testing bounties:
antanst should get 10000 NXT for crashing testnet
l8orre should get 5000 NXT for making freerider that will help others crash testnet
Thanks! Actually, if there would be a bounty for developing a complete test framework (including tests like the one that crashed the testnet) that continuously built NRS from latest version and showed the tests output in a nice web interface, I would potentially be interested in building it. People then would even propose tests and we could be adding them one by one. +1 |

All right people please explain this to me;
Is it possible that some criminal have an automatic bot that all day long is guessing the secret passphrase for NXT accounts. If the bot found a passphrase that GOT some NXT in it, send it to one allocated account and if there is NOT NXT proceed to next guessing. If you do this with very power computer / bot for a long time this will have success. How long will it take that the NXT accounts are all discovered?
Can we build something to prevent this?

for the nxt mining pool maybe create a large bounty for it? i dont think much will happen without a bounty?
I'm working on that now. I'm drafting bounty for Nextcoin.org. I'll post that link, at that time. I'll start by donating 20k, and I'll post a donation address. Please note, I'm not running a client (I keep my Nxt in exchanges) so I'm installing it now to generate a community donation address. If you donate 20k, too, that will be a 40k bounty for the first exchange that implements this. my total holdings accoutns to 80k nxt.. that would be 25% of my holdings lol il donate some but not 25% lol What is you (test) address number ? |
