1201  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - a new thin client on: August 21, 2012, 11:28:12 PM
Maybe something like this will work better:

1202  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - a new thin client on: August 21, 2012, 11:24:39 PM
I'm not sure if those thin orbit lines are good for small scale logos or icon.
1203  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Stratum] Overlay network protocol over Bitcoin on: August 21, 2012, 10:40:09 PM
Is anybody aware of any java implementations that are using the Stratum protocol?

Open source preferably ...  Smiley

There are python, php and JS implementations, but I don't know about working Java binding yet Sad. But please publish it on github if you'll make one Wink.
1204  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitcoinSpinner on: August 16, 2012, 10:05:54 AM
Ok, my friend see the full balance now. Thank you for your assistance!
1205  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitcoinSpinner on: August 16, 2012, 09:38:48 AM
What happened in your friends case is probably:
1. For some reason BS could not reach the server after a clean install (displayed "unknown" state)
2. You send coins to the address that the BS instance uses
3. The server does not track the transactions sent to the public key associated with the BS instance, as it hasn't made initial contact.

The fix is to not let BS display its bitcoin address until it has had initial contact with the server. I'lll look into that.

Yes, that would explain that lost 1BTC, actually I expected similar scenario. But friend didn't received those 0.01 BTC which I sent next day, when he already had "0.0000000 BTC" balance. But I'll tell him afternoon if blockchain reload will help him.

1207  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitcoinSpinner on: August 15, 2012, 06:58:08 PM
Another bug report:

Friend of mine installed BitcoinSpinner, but reported balance was "unknown". I remember that I had "0.00000000 BTC" on freshly installed BitcoinSpinner, so this catched my attention. Then I send him 1 BTC, but nothing happen. Next day the "unknown" balance changed to "0.00000000 BTC", so send him another 0.01 BTC, because I thought that it may be some caching issue on the server. Unfortunately, nothing changed again.

It is few days now and he still don't see his balance. I tried his key (using Backup / Restore) on another device and balance is still 0, although there are two transactions on that address on blockchain.info (http://blockchain.info/address/1JMLBfckLq6WPQm1NzebS5MGgzJR8Xgw8d).

Can you please elaborate? I know that Spinner is using some light accounts on server side, so maybe he created his wallet in time of some outage. But I'd like to have that 1.01 BTC again...

Bottom line - today I met another guy who still have issues with "bitcoins on the way". So it's obviously not fixed. One transaction was from Satoshi's client, second one from mtgox, so that bug is not related just to Spinner-Spinner transactions...
1208  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Abe 0.6: Open Source Block Explorer Knockoff on: August 08, 2012, 01:38:59 PM
Any chance to update PYPI, please?
1209  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitcoinSpinner on: August 08, 2012, 01:36:26 PM
I'm confirming that it happen when I was sending coins between two BitcoinSpinners. Thank you for the patch, I'll check it on the evening.

EDIT: I can confirm that it is OK now.
1210  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1094 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); supporting p2sh! on: August 07, 2012, 02:08:01 AM
Do we know if the pool is functioning properly?

Yes, everything is working fine.
1211  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitcoinSpinner on: August 06, 2012, 09:53:48 PM
Yes, I also remember that it worked few times for me, but now it happen to me everytime. If you want, PM me and I'll send you my keys so you can watch the logs.
1212  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitcoinSpinner on: August 06, 2012, 08:51:28 PM
Is the bug that unconfirmed transactions doesn't appear in the BitcoinSpinner known? It still shows "0.000000000" for me, then suddenly the "confirmed" balance bump up.

I see that bug on two phones, HTC Desire, HTC Wildfire. It is pretty annoying, especially when I'm introducing someone to BitcoinSpinner Smiley.
1213  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1094 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); supporting p2sh! on: July 31, 2012, 01:00:15 PM
AFAIK cgminer needs / on the end of URL. So try http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332/.

Hello, I'm having trouble connecting to the pool using my current .bat on cgminer.

cgminer -o http://api2.bitcoin.cz:8332 -u myworker.namehere -p MyWorkerPass

Am I doing something wrong? I was using GUIminer, but upgraded to two 7970s today and GUIminer doesn't support those. Can anyone point me to a guide on how to connect to this pool?

Three invalids in one day? Is this another problem with the database as has happened in the past?

No, it's just unbelievable luck. You can see that all broadcasted blocks are valid, we just lose the fight in bitcoin network, unfortunately.
1215  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1094 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); supporting p2sh! on: July 19, 2012, 02:51:44 PM
Thanks to report of user runner, I found that pool mined one block and for some reason it has not been stored into pool database. The possible reason is that it happen during database upgrade, but unfortunately the logs are rotated already, so I don't have any more info about it.

Because there's not any round related to this block, I decided to double block reward in the latest pool round #13087. I believe that it's the best solution of such problem, because nobody has been noticed in advance that reward for this block will be higher.

This message is also an explanation why you see much higher block reward than normally.

I haven't read every post on here but does this work with data from Bitfloor.com?

Yes, it's symbol "bitfloorUSD" in sierrachart.
1217  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1094 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); supporting p2sh! on: July 07, 2012, 10:11:46 PM
How can I merge mining for other coins in your pool?

It's not possible use merged mining on top of share based pools (afaik all current pools are share based). If you want to merge mine some exotic currency, everything you really can do is to setup solo mining on your own.
1218  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1094 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); supporting p2sh! on: July 07, 2012, 10:10:17 PM
Hello all, I had a holiday in recent days so I was only on mobile Internet connection for pool maintenance. That's the reason why I didn't respond for forum posts here (data roaming is awfuly overpriced!).

About pool downtime - OVH had global downtime for around 30 minutes few days back. There was nothing to do on my side, but pool recovered by self when they renew network connection.

About lowering block rewards - there was some additional hashrate in previous days, probably because technical difficulties on another pools. That was surely the reason why your block rewards went down, but (statistically) the block rate was faster than before.

About DGM - it's damned project and I won't comment it more otherwise I'll go crazy again. I really needed that vacation and hopefully I'll be more succesfull now...
1219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SierraChart bridge - Realtime Bitcoin charts [v0.5] (MtGox, Intersango, ...) on: June 20, 2012, 10:08:29 AM
It is because historical data from bitcoincharts.com are not realtime. That means, there's few minutes gap everytime you'll start feed, but then it is downloading all data.

Quick fix: Don't stop the feed.

Slow fix: It is possible to mark down startup times, ask bitcoincharts for the data later and fix the file, but it isn't implemented yet. The biggest problem which I see is that sierrachart file is supposed to be a stream, so I'm not sure how sierrachart will handle the fact that file will be changed in the middle.
1220  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SierraChart bridge - Realtime Bitcoin charts [v0.5] (MtGox, Intersango, ...) on: June 14, 2012, 03:37:30 PM
two questions: i see the feed is pulling in data for all the exhanges and such. is there a way to limit it so it only pulls (for example) mtgoxUSD? not a big deal. just curious. no sense wasting the storage space or bandwidth, even if it is a tiny amount.

This is the limitation of bitcoincharts.com API; it broadcasts everything and we can only filter interesting markets for us. For this reason I decided to store everything, because sometimes it can be handy to have complete history of all markets and the consumed space on the harddisk is really tiny ... but if you don't want to store all markets locally, just use "-s mtgoxUSD" (which means "care only about mtgoxusd") option on the commandline. The default is "-s mtgoxUSD,*" which means "download the history of mtgoxUSD and then stream and store everything".

Quote
also, the volume display. got it set up under my main chart and it works fine.but it shows only whole numbers, basically shifting the decimal to the right. the feed will say 35.62 volume for a trade, for example, but the chart will show it as 3562. minor annoyance and i can of course adjust it in my head. but would be nice to change it. thoughts?

Yes, this is annoying, but it is limitation of Sierrachart data format; volume cannot handle decimal places. So this is the only way to store and display decimal places in bitcoin trading Sad.
