141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Where are you storing your miners? on: October 13, 2017, 12:33:08 PM
Luckily I have some spare rooms in my home at the moment so I have them here, noise level has been ok, electricity rate is not too cheap though, works out at 0.145 in USD/KW/h
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which equipment to start mining on: October 12, 2017, 03:55:55 PM
Thanks for your replies

What’s your electrical cost? If it’s above $0.10/kWh then it’s generally not recommended that you mine. If you have electrical prices at or under that cost, keep in mind GPU mining profitability has fallen off a cliff and ROI on most cards is now at 10 months or so. ATM cheap 1060s, 470/570 and 580/570 cards are good choices. 1070 can also be used if you find one at a good price. Prices have fallen a bit on GPUs as well, but I’m not sure if this is true in the EU.

So to answer to your question for the 12 next months i will have free electricity since i live in Saudi arabia as an expatriate so my company provides me electricty. But i don't want to use too much for me 1,5kW is enough if i can have a good equipment with this it would be perfect. I would like to take advantage of this year to start mining.

According to the answers i should target :

8 rx580 series or 1070.

1) Is it possible to find something plug and play; ready to use ?
2) Is it dangerous to do mining in appartement i mean regarding to fire hazard ?

Thank you

It would be most cost efficient to buy the parts individually and build the rig yourself but if you need a plug and play GPU rig you can checkout https://mineshop.eu/ , I have ordered off them before and they provide a good service, there prices aren't the worst but you will still be paying a good bit more than building yourself.

So I read rules on first page...lot of rules lol...I downloaded the wallet and tried to get some nodes for it, when I clicked on link it took me on website deeponion forum. Is this site mentioned in rules? I think I'll go slowly with this. By the way someone put lot of work in this Smiley

In the deeponion forum you can find how to set up your wallet to get connections to nodes.

Yes you will need to register on the DeepOnion forum and it would be good to participate over there aswell. For the wallet you can see the instructions here if you don't have it configured already: https://deeponion.org/community/threads/deeponion-tor-wallet-creating-conf-file.63/
144  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC effect on altcoins on: October 11, 2017, 01:55:37 PM
Waiting patiently to see how the hard fork plays out. Alts could get rekt as there all priced in BTC 1x.

Really at this point the safest option in my opinion is to hold some BTC and some strong well established alts to balance your portfolio out and lower risk before things settle and we know the outcome of the fork.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WHATS A GOOD FANSPEED TO MINE?? on: October 11, 2017, 01:29:41 PM
Yes as others have suggested whatever is necessary to keep the cards at a good temperature. For example on my RX 480 I have the fan speed manually set to 65% so the temperature stays around the 70 degrees mark.

Just updated to the new wallet, all working well. Thanks Devs. Price has also been doing well today Grin
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1070 24/7 mining lifespan? on: October 10, 2017, 11:28:55 AM
I try and keep fan speed under 70 and temps under 75 and all has been fine so far. Just watch out for dust build up every couple of months.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: October 09, 2017, 09:57:29 PM
Compared to most alts dumping at the moment the price is doing well, this would give me confidence for the price and project going forward.

150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Older Motherboard for DDR3? on: October 08, 2017, 09:21:18 PM
Biostar TB85 is a good mining motherboard and you can easily add up to 6 cards later.

BIOSTAR TB85 LGA 1150 Intel B85 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Motherboards - Intel - $59.95

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138436

Another good choice for a mining motherboard is the ASRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0

ASRock H81 PRO BTC R2.0 LGA 1150 Intel H81 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - $74.95

Plus one on the BIOSTAR TB85, built my first rig using it with 4 RX570

so it looks to me like a few new members have just dumped their free coins. while we should not be worried  about it, it does really annoy me. they get accepted and just dump the lot

Price has bounced back quickly. Without a doubt they will be regretting those sales down the line. I'm planning on holding mine long term! Too many exciting updates coming up to even consider selling in my opinion.

Agreed! This is definitely a long term hold for me too! Once we hit more exchanges there will definitely be an increase in value!

Yes it's pointless just selling straight away, defeats the whole purpose of the AirDrop and how it can help build the community. If you believe in the project you should just follow all of the rules and try and add value to help the coins future success. I'm currently looking at buying some onions or getting some mining equipment, at least if some do sell there onions I can get them cheaper Smiley
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Maintenance for Mining GPUs on: October 06, 2017, 02:38:58 PM
I just bought a can of compressed air, going to try and clean out the dust for the first time today. Miner has been running for 3 months. The one I have is similar to this, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cleaning-Keyboards-Dashboards-Computers-Scanners/dp/B006YT69BU/ , it was €1.50 in local deals shop.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal miner on: October 05, 2017, 11:12:18 AM
Hello i just found some baikal miners for 100 Euro  spec:
X11 X13 X14 X15 Qubit Quark

– Hash Rate : 150MH/s(±10%)

– Power : 40W(±5%) @ 0.27J/MH (at the wall , with 25℃ ambient temp)

– Power supply : DC 12V 5A Power Adapter with 2.5 DC Plug(Not included)

– Interface : Ethernet– Operation Temp : 0 ~ 40 ℃

– Dimension : 140mm(L) x 100mm(W) x 95mm(H)

– Weight : 475 g

I wonder if is worth to buy it for diffrend algo than x13?
Im making this post cuz i cannot find any coin on other algo.

Going by whattomine with that hash rate and power usage on x11, qubit and quark your looking at approx $0.20 profit a day with a electricity rate of 0.12$/kWh so it's not really worth it unless the coins go up a lot.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TZC] TrezarCoin Super-Secure-PoW/PoS on: October 04, 2017, 03:23:17 PM
Started mining TrezarCoin last night, results have been good so far. For staking do I just need to wait for the coins to mature, 1 day? I also see the .conf file in the original post, does this need to be added?

my experience so far with the deeponion wallet: at like 3k onions you stake a lot Smiley

i make like 1-2 coins a day, only by staking Smiley wonderful!

First of all, congrats to 3k Onions Cheesy Second thing is, do you run your wallet 24/7 or just a limited amount of time?

Staking rewards seem to be very good if you are getting 1-2 coins a day by staking, will definitely start staking once I build up a decent number of Onions.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DASH incredible rise in the hashrate on: October 04, 2017, 09:16:53 AM
People were warned but the some of the people didn't wanna listen and just accused people of being selfish and wanting all the profits to themselves. They compared x11 to script and said well the l3+ is still profitable so a d3 should be too ignoring the differences in available coins to mine and the fact bitmain owned the script market because of the l3+ price speed and efficiency. X11 has too much competition  now and anyone who kept their Baikals are laughing at us all now.

This. I am actually mining everything but scrypt and X11. Better coins about in Quark and X13 now that are making a move. Grin

What hardware are you using to mine Quark and X13? I'm glad now that I did not order the antminer d3 November batch with the difficulty increase.

Baikal Giants and some other old Baikal miners that people were just about giving away in the last month due to the rise of d3s... Grin

Thanks, i'm still trying to get some Baikal miners but the new giant x10 isn't in stock yet, I could get the older version of the giant but it's still pretty dear for it's hashing rate.

No updates yet on Baikal's twitter either about the second batch Sad I might try and contact them again using Skype.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Possible and Profitable to Mine Ethereum with Desktop? on: October 03, 2017, 09:28:41 AM
Yes it depends on the graphics card you have to determine if its worthwhile, I dual mine on my desktop with an RX480, use https://whattomine.com/ to check profitability for your card. At the moment with difficulty so high you won't make much profit.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Wow VertCoin +5000% in just 1 year on: October 02, 2017, 10:11:35 PM
Bought some a few weeks ago on the dip, hopefully it can continue to grow. Ledger Hardware Wallet support being added on 16 October.
