I think we have a big chance to reproduce (or even surpass) NXT initial success
Nxt small number of stakeholder turned out to be advantage in manipulating prices (in nxt favor), as number of coins in circulation (on exchanges) is lower than it could have been with wider initial distribution. Add the fact that there are 4 times more Nem (and many more people will be trading on exchanges) I am not entirely sure how high would one Nem go. Plus things have changed with all crappy altcoins around. People are burnt out with buying alt clones then prices go down as developers dump big amount after initial pump. We will see how it goes, but I am keeping expectations low. I would be cautiously optimistic. Hopefully, Bitcoin and general crypto scene would be in a better state than it is now when we launch. It looks like that at the end of April to the middle of May, things will turn around quickly. So, starting in four to five weeks a dramatic shift should occur.

All this talk about forging and running nodes and this and that and unfair and that.....
And here I am running some nodes just to strengthen the network.
I do it because if the network is successful, then we'll all be succesful. Although if I could forge more it would be a plus.
Same here, i have seven nodes, but I think it is important to eventually reach a point where we do not need them. Often I have seen the same node forge block after block. This is not unfair, but it would be better if smaller accounts could get something too. That is the appeal of dogecoin. Little guys can get a return, not just the big ASIC miners as is the case with Bitcoin. Maybe more blocks per minute, maybe enforce a waiting period between forged blocks for each node? Maybe something else.

I dont see how this would increase forging with smaller account. unless I am missing something. If you have one NXT and 999,999,999 others have one nxt, your chances of forging a block are pretty small. forging is important, it will keep the network decentralized.
The idea is simply to make it more likely that even a forging account with 1 NXT has a pretty good chance. This is important to accomplish. I am just not sure putting limits on forging accounts is the answer. what about more blocks per minute? Or perhaps a timer, if node has forged a block it must wait for N blocks before it can forge another.

CfB thought I might want to make my suggestion for a possible different future of TF clearer. What I am advocating would mean that the % chance to forge would effectively be the number of "forging accounts + IP addreses" you have (for most average people that is going to be 1). So rather than having to get 100K or more NXT to forge you would only need to purchase 1 "forging account" (say 1 NXT?) to forge. I hope that explains it better (unfortunately sometimes I just *assume* people understand my ideas). So basically everyone could forge even if they only have 1 NXT??That would be really something for a fairer system- if we make distribution fairer all clones (and not only) are dead... What if many big stakeholders do many smaller accounts? I dont see how this would increase forging with smaller account. unless I am missing something. If you have one NXT and 999,999,999 others have one nxt, your chances of forging a block are pretty small. forging is important, it will keep the network decentralized.

I updated the client from the git repository
now it says that "market" is invalid
C:\Windows\System32>C:\Python32\python.exe c:\counterpartyd_build\run.py market usage: counterpartyd [-h] [-V] [-v] [--force] [--testnet] [--testcoin] [--unsigned] [--data-dir DATA_DIR] [--database-file DATABASE_FILE] [--config-file CONFIG_FILE] [--log-file LOG_FILE] [--bitcoind-rpc-connect BITCOIND_RPC_CONNECT] [--bitcoind-rpc-port BITCOIND_RPC_PORT] [--bitcoind-rpc-user BITCOIND_RPC_USER] [--bitcoind-rpc-password BITCOIND_RPC_PASSWORD] [--rpc-host RPC_HOST] [--rpc-port RPC_PORT] [--rpc-user RPC_USER] [--rpc-password RPC_PASSWORD]
{server, potentials, send, order, btcpay, issuance, broadcast, bet, dividend, burn, cancel, callback, balances, asset, wallet, pending, reparse, rollback} ... counterpartyd: error: argument action: invalid choice: 'market' (choose from 'server', 'potentials', 'send', 'order', 'btcpay', 'issuance', 'broadcast', 'bet', 'dividend', 'burn', 'cancel', 'callback', 'balances', 'asset', 'wallet', 'pending', 'reparse', 'rollback')
The market command was removed in an earlier update. For now, it's best to use blockscan in its place, as the GUIs emerge. Is there any possibility of getting it back? The command line works OK in lieu of a gui. I'm not interested in using a central exchange, and was surprised when people flocked over to one, when the purpose of XCP is a decentralized exchange. See this discussion. thank you
