9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where to sell tokens? on: July 28, 2018, 03:10:49 AM
first of all go to the announcement topics and check where you can sell them. there is always a link there. and also there are sometimes people there selling and buying coins and tokens in each announcement topic underprice if there is no exchanges available.

other than that you can go to https://coinmarketcap.com/ search the name of your token and check the market tab to see the list of exchanges having the token you want to sell.

Good advice above, i find binance the easiest and feels the most secure due to being the biggest.

It really depends on the coin and where its listed so check on CMC but kucoin i find list many of the alts i trade.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some insight on ADA coin/Cardano on: July 23, 2018, 09:31:31 PM
"It’s great that you guys are interested in Ada and the Cardano project! My name is John O’Connor and I am Head of Communications at the Cardano Foundation. It's a very exciting time for us right now as we publicly launched Cardano on Friday and today began trading on Bittrex. I would however like to address some posts in this thread which suggest that Cardano is a ‘scam’ and/or ‘pyramid scheme’.

Firstly please take a look at the press section of IOHK, our development partner. Multiple articles by mainstream media have been written about IOHK. To name a few, Business Insider, The FT, Forbes, Bloomberg and the Nasdaq Magazine (links to all these articles can be found on https://iohk.io/press/). IOHK have a global team of leading scientists, academics and researchers working on the Cardano project.

Cardano’s PoS, Ouroboros stands out as the first proof of stake algorithm that is provably secure, meaning that it offers security guarantees that are mathematically proven. Ouroboros is also the first cryptographic protocol to be peer reviewed at the world's top cryptography conference, Crypto 2017. Forbes wrote an article on Ouroboros being accepted at Crypto 2017, you can read it here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/amycastor/2017/08/23/at-crypto-2017-blockchain-presentations-focus-on-proofs-not-concepts/#35d474f67b70

The project has adhered to strict compliance standards, and there is a wealth of information available under the transparency tab on the Cardano Hub website. https://www.cardanohub.org/en/home/

I invite any users who have any questions about the project to actively engage with our community channels where Cardano staff will be on hand to answer any further questions.

Regards, John O’Connor"

More:

"Cardano is being built by IOHK, who are an extraordinary technology company. They have brought together an international team of leading experts, academics and cryptographers to build Cardano over the the past two years, inspired by the best features of existing cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ripple and Ethereum. This are many articles in the mainstream media that support this.

Of its many innovations, Cardano is the first blockchain to use a provably secure, proof of stake algorithm - the only one to have been academically peer reviewed by leading cryptographers through its acceptance to Crypto 2017, the world’s most prestigious cryptography conference. It was even covered in Forbes. Cardano has also been written from scratch in Haskell. It allows the use of a high assurance technique called formal verification. This produces evidence that code is correct and could have helped safeguard against the flaws that lead to the DAO hack.

This is a very serious project that aims to build a blockchain on a foundation of peer review, and academic research. If you'd like to learn more, you can find a wealth of information at the Cardano Hub, or feel free to review the code."

I bought 30.000 ADA, I trust this project.
Looking for I nice return in a few weeks/months  Roll Eyes

thanks very much for the info! i think these next couple of years will be big for the alternative platforms and cardanos looking particularly good to me, waiting for my next pay check!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull Market on: July 23, 2018, 09:27:33 PM
Is the bear market over?  With BTC hitting $7700 is looks like we are primed for a big altcoin season.  What do you think?

i sure hope so, ive been waiting long enough and seen my portfolios value drop hugely in the meantime lol. definitely feels like theres a good amount of positivity in the space again
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3 signals that the crypto rise will stick on: July 22, 2018, 09:58:19 PM
Cryptocurrency owners will no doubt be relieved and delighted that the market is going through a turnaround and green arrows are showing for the major coins. Most significantly for some experts, Bitcoin’s rise to above $7,000 on 17th July, gaining $600 in 30 minutes, highlighted the possibility of the start of a strong bull run.

Of course, there are always those who urge caution when optimism seems to be getting too much of the upper hand, but according to Coindesk, if you look at Bitcoin over a longer time frame there is reason to be cautiously optimistic, as a politician might say.

Coindesk also points to three tools investors use to analyse the markets in order to establish whether a trend has staying power.

Exponential Moving Averages (EMA)
An EMA provides insights into the asking bid and the momentum of a trend. They can be used to confirm or deny a trend change by analyzing the position of the EMA in relation to the current price. It involves use of the Fibonacci number 55, and for example, from May 11 to July 16, the 55 EMA for bitcoin was above the price acting as a barrier or resistance to any major moves past $6,860. However, since 17th July, the EMA has fallen below the current price, indicating a significant breakout, at least for the mid-term.

Fibonacci extensions
More of that Fibonacci sequence that traders use to identify major resistance or support. What you are looking for in an extensions and retracement chart are any major moves above the neutral Fibonacci extension at 0.5 as these would help to confirm the bullish view of the market.

Trading volume
Traders also look at trading volume and they will be looking at the total volume of Bitcoin that changed hands in a 24-hour period. On 17th July, Bitcoin volume reached a three-month high, and doubled the volume traded on 16th July. As volume increases, the price strengthens, because there are more buy/sell opportunities and greater liquidity. Keep a sharp eye on the volume as it is one of the best indicators for determining the strength of a particular move in relation to the amount traded

its hard to even try to guess how the market will perform price wise but im always suspicious of any upwards movements until price holds for a week or so. lets hope the good news keeps comin
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Your Money Safer In Crypto than at the Bank? on: July 22, 2018, 09:35:01 PM
i realise how volatile crypto is but to be honest i love knowing that i actually ultimately control my own funds, and i dont trust the banks one bit! i only keep what i have to in fiat
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will you sell all your coins in Bull market? on: July 21, 2018, 10:33:19 PM
Many people are waiting for the market recovery to sell their coins but I bet you,as soon as market recovers ,they will feel reluctant to sell.

if you sell all the you are out of the game, and i dont think many of us who are truly in the space mentally will ever hold zero bags. of course many might take a healthy profit after this bear!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suspicious transactions on Myetherwallet! on: July 18, 2018, 04:54:27 PM
Suspicious transactions on Myetherwallet!
On one of my purses today appeared tokens (-2500 [Suspicious link removed]/nicetokens), which I never had and someone brought them out?
Someone knows what's the matter?
What's going on with the myetherwallet lately?!

ive had loads of random tokens, usually theyre just spam tokens promoting some kind of project. pretty sure theyre never anything to get excited about but theres no danger when receiving them
16  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or ledger nano s? on: July 17, 2018, 10:55:01 AM
I am thinking of buying one of hardwallets:
- trezor or;
- ledger nano s.

I like ledger more due its cool design, but my concern is about its durability. Trezor looks more durable.
I would appreciate any of your comments and past experience.
If you own any of these wallets, please write what time do you own it and what is your experience with it.

Ive got both and to be honest theyre probably just as duarable as each other, its more about personal preference. I prefer my trezor as I like the user interface better, but they each work just as well
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will you sell all your coins in Bull market? on: July 17, 2018, 10:31:42 AM
Many people are waiting for the market recovery to sell their coins but I bet you,as soon as market recovers ,they will feel reluctant to sell.

i agree, its easy to be negative and say youre going to sell your cryptos in a bear market, but when the bull market comes around and theres loads of hype i reckon people will be too reluctant to see all their coins, maybe some but not all. its too exciting in a bull market
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has Bitcoin reached its goal? on: July 12, 2018, 10:25:53 PM
I'm not referring to the price of Bitcoin (we all know it's going to be $250,000/coin by 2022), but the goal that it would be a legitimate alternative to inflationary government fiat currencies.  When the altcoin market is examined, it is inextricably linked to the price of Bitcoin.  Where Bitcoin goes, so does the rest of the cryptocurrencies.  There's even somewhat of a dismissive attitude toward other crytpos in some investment circles; strangely this was a similar sentiment held by those "respectable" investors when Bitcoin was in its infancy.

What do you think?  I'd love to hear from some crytpo veterans.

im not a veteran by any means but i think the market will mature over time and coins will begin to be valued more independently in the same way as stocks, it has to happen sooner or later or the market is always going to be irrational
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will you sell Bitcoins ? on: July 11, 2018, 03:32:56 PM
10 to 12 times profit is 14 years is OK. Then it stops as per normal trading in financial markets. Now stock markets will most likely see -30% fall.

$400 to $7000 in 4 years for bitcoin is 20 times profit. This could be the reason Bitcoin starts falling from $6,700.

When will you sell Bitcoins ??

i am in it for the long run, I believe in bitcoin long term and think in 5 years the situation will be incredible. you should sell some maybe to recoup losses after this horrible bear market but im not looking to sell any time soon, i believe there is huge future potential
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep safe your Bitcoin from hacker on: July 11, 2018, 03:03:34 PM
so many hacks going on these days, its insane. really important to protect your funds, Id say the most important advice is to hold funds in a hardware wallet somewhere secure. Don't even bother NOT having a physical wallet, otherwise having funds online can easily result in them being lost if you make a silly mistake, or even if you don't. get a trezor or ledger that's my advice
