Yup, if you only mistype one character or so, the address will become invalid.
1506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: theoretically stupid, but bound to happen ... on: March 29, 2013, 12:41:59 PM
If you mistype a character, then the address will be invalid and you would not be able to send the bitcoins.

But if you send the bitcoins to a valid address for wich the private key is unknown... yeah well, byebye bitcoins

1509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upgrade bitcoin.org on: March 28, 2013, 11:02:30 PM
I agree that the download page is a bit unclear right now.

The clients are "hidden" under the symbols and all these ? ? ? looks like clients still to unveil rather than important warning (under mobile wallet at first glance i suppose that bitcoin wallet is ready and there are 2 more clients still to unveil while under web wallets there are 4 clients to unveil)

Yeah BTW, what would you put instead of the ? to bring people attention to them so that they hover with the mouse, see the warning and click to show them?
Nothing, i would just put the warnings there, without having to hover/clic anything.
I would put everything directly on the page. The clients descriptions and the warnings. The descriptions and warnings are short so they won't make the page too long

1511  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The correction? on: March 28, 2013, 07:34:56 PM
so basically if there is a correction, coins will be forcibly knocked down in price?  i admit i have a lot of learning about economics to do.
No no no! You are a bit confused about that!

When people speak about the correction they mean that the current price is so high that eventually people will sell a lot of btc and the price will drop. And that is a correction  Smiley
1512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin passes one billion market cap. on: March 28, 2013, 07:25:38 PM
The number of people participating in the Bitcoin ecosystem has definitely increased dramatically in the past few weeks.  My node used to see 25-60 connections; it has 120 now.  I had to double the bandwidth of the connection in order to accomodate the traffic.
Don't the number of connections depend on your bandwidth?
