Then you need a second diamond for the password  Cheesy
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Private Keys engraved in Diamond on: May 07, 2013, 02:05:58 PM
Uh? If you engrave the key then of course you know it and you can record it!
1124  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Got to be an Easier way to buy Bitcoin on: May 07, 2013, 01:48:15 PM
Bitcoin exists exactly because the current financial/economic system sucks. If safely buying bitcoins would be easy, then we would already have a working system and we would not need bitcoin  Cheesy

Instead we have paypal, credit cards, chargeback fests, banks etcetcetc
1125  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-05-07 Business Standard: US regulator mulls setting rules for digital... on: May 07, 2013, 01:34:54 PM
Ahahahah they are trying everything to attack bitcoin

Let me understand, since bitcoin is digital gold then:

"If you're buying Gold and you are hoping that their value increases ... and you could purchase something with them in a day or a week or a month or a year, that is clearly a derivative of the actual Gold"

Mmh... so now gold is a derivative contract?  Roll Eyes Yeah sure and oh look, an alien starship  Roll Eyes

I'm speaking about the fail logic of pekv2.

Go check and study ALL the results of F@H then come back, not open a troll thread "omg why f@h still didn't cure everything omg"  Undecided

You can all thank Erik "Tony Hayward" Voorhees for polluting the blockchain so badly that this has come to pass.

Thanks for "stress testing" us to a hard-fork, Erik (again). You're such a champ - at taking people's money. I'd also like to thank all the mouth-breathing fools that thought Satoshi Dice was a good idea. You're also at fault too.

Great job, Erik - you profit-first douchebag.
Nonsense, bitcoin is about profit and free market, if a single person is able to do so much damage then it is bitcoin fault

Hopefully the moderators can ban the IP and stop these criminals from trying to scam users.

Wtf? Why this change? This is nonsense, why forcing this?
1133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A possible unexplored reason for no iPhone wallet apps, and a solution on: May 05, 2013, 06:16:23 PM
Interesting thought - but I suspect Apple's reasons for banning bitcoin apps lie elsewhere.

If they were concerned that their poor security would be exposed - which essentially is the meat of your thesis - then why do they allow banking apps (from BoA, etc.) in iOS?  And why don't we hear about endless and unstoppable hacks into users' bank accounts?
Because people want these apps, tons of people!

While a bitcoin app is used by few people.  Wink
1134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Israel accuses Syria of act of war... demand for bitcoin to rise? on: May 05, 2013, 06:12:49 PM
A collapse of the syrian regime is not "instability" in my opinion. Actually it can mean moar people able to use bitcoin
1135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Israel accuses Syria of act of war... demand for bitcoin to rise? on: May 05, 2013, 06:09:27 PM
Syria is a bit like Libya

If Israel attack Syria then the Assad regime will finally collapse.
1136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cpu-only mining on: May 05, 2013, 05:49:36 PM
Did Satishi expected GPU / ASIC mining?
Yes  Wink

ASIC mining will always happen, there can't be a "non asic" currency  Wink
1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A possible unexplored reason for no iPhone wallet apps, and a solution on: May 05, 2013, 05:48:19 PM
The problem boils down to the fact that apple can control what you can and you can't install on your phone. And that sucks. Solution: go get an android phone
1138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gaming, What is already there and what is yet to come. on: May 05, 2013, 12:29:40 PM
In Wurm Online you can mine ingame money with the CoinLab miner

http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/61990-coinlab-faq-how-to-earn-silver-coins-with-your-graphics-card/

You sign in, get the miner, enter the name of your character and you mine. The ingame money will be directly received ingame as you mine  Wink

Note that Wurm ingame money works a bit different than ingame money of other games like WoW or EVE.
1139  Economy / Speculation / Re: holy shit, china is going parabolic.. on: May 04, 2013, 10:59:55 PM
BTC's problem as a world currency if some of the country do not have a flowing currency exchange rate

It is not really a problem for bitcoin, it's a problem for the "fixed rate" currency.
Bitcoin will only show the "true" value of the RMB.

that would be an incredibly interesting thing to watch.
there's currently only 1 cny exchange (as far as i know), so i'd also be concerned if it could be state influenced.
not sure where btcchina its located, but i'd like to see cny exchanges in shenzhen and hong kong

just registered with btcchina to check it out and what i found absolutely surprising is the "mainstream" funding options currently available to the exchange:
  • alipay (equivalent to paypal)
  • tenpay (equivalent to i dunno facebook credits?)

and there seems to be an exit to EVERY national bank
(i'm actually trying to fund my ccb account now)

so basically in china, bitcoin is accepted and just works???
none of that aml, kyc bullshit???
if this remains china's "official" position, HO-LY SHIT
talk about too good to be true
 Shocked

Or, simply, it is like in the beginning of bitcoin, when people still accepted paypal and credit cards. Maybe the same will happen in china, they will discover that these systems are NOT ok to sell bitcoins.
1140  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GPU Heatsink exploded/blew up on: May 04, 2013, 10:15:32 PM
He was running the card 100% load 24/7, how does that warrant an RMA? No card that it used for bitcoin mining should be entitled for a "free" replacement. How many lies will you tell them to get a new free card?
Bullshit, a card is made exactly for that: TO BE USED

Or do you buy cards as ornaments?
