301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 07, 2014, 06:09:17 PM
ok ladies and gentlemen, im officially out and done with all of this. if the rocket was going anywhere it would have already blasted off. no blast off means we are still going down. rip in piece xbt. should have known, to good to be true. i shall remember my bits fondly.

i have come to the realization that it's time to cut my losses. my hard earned money wont be losing any more value when it is sitting safe and sound inside my bank account at chase National Bank, in fact it will be earning interest!

i strongly recommend you all do the same, put your money in the bank where it belongs, or else the whales, banksters, and corrupt governments will end up with all the value of your coins, and you will be left with worthless digits on your computer, you will be forever ridiculed by family and friends about magic beans and ponzi schemes, and you will eventually be forced to join the military and fight and die in wars you don't understand and definitely don't agree with, or find yourself locked in a prison making license plates for twenty cents an hour.

Yes but.....Who  are you?  Grin
302  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we ask bitstamp who is that seller? on: October 07, 2014, 12:53:44 PM
Does it matter who or what placed the order? I see it as some sort of price manipulation by someone or some group. If they are serious in selling that much, they could do it quietly in trenches.

I keep hearing (well, actually: reading) that reasoning, but it just shows a fundamental lack of understanding in short to mid term trading, imo.

There was a clear and expected bounce from 275 forming. A large player who really *wanted* to get out, fast, and at the best possible price, could have done worse than putting it up as a big wall. Maybe there would have been more sophisticated ways (e.g. splitting it up over exchanges), selling it in smaller chunks, but let's be real as well: 9M USD worth of Bitcoin were sold with zero slippage, in a rather illiquid market. That's not half bad.

Now, if we assume that price will go to the moon next, sure, it was a bad decision. But at that time we're not arguing anymore whether the whale made the right decision in how he sold, but whether his outlook into the near future or our own is correct.

tl;dr Sell wall into rebound from capitulation bottom isn't really the dumbest way to get rid of large amount of coins, if you want to get rid of them.

quiet you! nobody wants to hear rational explanations Wink

Not to mention the crazy idea that if I owned 100k coins that I bought at $100 each, I'd definitely not cash out 30% of them at a 200% gain to give me a cost basis of zero on the other 70k!!!

Draper, time to average down. I suggest wiring 10 million to Bitstamp and buy him up. Cheesy

Lol

I think we will start chewing into that massive wall if it doesn't get removed sooner or later

Might take a few days though

I'm thinking he might of screwed up. He took it down to the previous ATH when he should have just plowed through it while there was no buy support around it. Maybe he was hoping the market was going to take over. Now it's filling in and going to be more difficult to get it down there.

Not to say... he doesn't have the BTC to still do it or anything like that.

If he leves the wall as soon as get eaten he removes it out at warp speed. Guarantee.

TH1 continues to be over-valued. The price is up over the past 10 days - when it should be declining each day.  The difficulty outlook is good (next increase might be 0%, but I'd expect 7% increases afterwards).  I expect a sharp correction within the next 0-40 days.

I started a TH1 speculation thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=802718

BTC is slowly falling and approaching the year all time low.  I think it's a great time for a new investor to buy.  It's a decent time to buy if you are fine with increasing your BTC asset allocation.  For me, I'm just sad about all the money I'm losing.  As another user wrote, the fundamentals are good but the technicals are bad. That said, I prefer to use fundamentals - so I'm optimist.

LTC is doing well given these circumstances.

Do you think BTC will have a dramatic mini flash crash (high volume, loss of 5-10% in maybe 1-2 hours) before it reaches the bottom?  Or will it just have a small bounce that reverses the long-term slow decline, and then turns into a slow recovery?

Lately it's really hard to predict numbers. I think there is a mining reason why price is dropping. Large capitals got into mining hardware so because of ROI and also because of who has large mining farm wants somehow to keep price low to keep others out of the game, they are dumping.
But as you said, fundamentals are great and I, like you do, don't day trade but look for good positions.

BTC, LTC and DOGE in my opinion are the best three horses by now.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Xiaoxiao's trading/forecast blog on: September 15, 2014, 09:57:37 AM
Folks, since all my predictions in this thread has been right... here is my next prediction:

We are headed over a long stretch of 3-9 months down to about sub $200.  Perhaps as low as sub $100 in 6 months time.

Final capitulation (as falllling says) i believe is coming in 3-9 months

best case scenario:

This week however: 500-400

trades: none... waiting to short if it goes below 440.

You draw this triangle chart at your pleasure, man lol

no nay, you better study a bit more .... Grin Grin Grin

Never! If you look at the charts you can clearly see BTC is on a nasty downward spiral into oblivion!
Difficulty raises are less... Coin price decreases... Its doge all over again!! Wink

Here comes another one........

I am in doge also but you my friend should stop smoking what you are smoking  Grin

Lol very funny! This place always is full of clowns. Do you have some magical sphere?

Anyway I guess we'll see a spike soon.
313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crash to $0.5 imminent. All bets are off. on: August 02, 2014, 06:05:50 AM
I follow btc since 2011 bubble but I bought some in September 2012 at 10.20$

Then I switched to LTC at .012$

The only way for both btc and LTC is up. No matter fluctuation in short time, if you watch the picture in middle time (1-3 years) it will go up and up. How high? Difficult to say. But this is why I'm sure about it:

- mining difficulty grows fast, it's more and more expensive to mine them both;
- international crisis (defaults, wars, banks crisis....sigh, reading my words makes me feel bad, but this is the world we're living in)
- wider adoption

Being used for fast and cheap medium of exchange and as a value store makes them the best choice as an investment.

Oh, I'm an hodler.

Except for those I used to buy two cars, one house (in Berlin, not here in Italy) 6 ASICS (Titan, I still have to receive them. I know, don't tell me nothing. But I did it because I was curious), and found a start up as incubator and crowd funding portal (which I hope will be online in October)

i wish a knew Chinese to read their chat when they saw that btc-e dump  Cool

Forums? Where? I tried to check what people were saying period but LTC talk is dead Tongue

They have their own trollbox @btc-e
Did anyone notice that LTC/BTC skyrocketed while LTC/USD tanked (and by a much larger factor?)

wtfff

Yes it' amazing my sell order at 0.0145 totally filled! Why LTC/usd was going to 2!

Something is definitely going on.

I bet we'll see something soon. I guess in up direction. Warning: it's JUST a feeling! Do not take it as an invitation to buy please. This crypto world is already full of trolls and I don't want to be compared to them.
Thank you.

So you sold at 0.0145. Did you manage to buy back way cheaper by going through USD?

No I sold some LTC because I need cash. I transform LTC in btc then. I send btc to bitstamp and sell there because a SEPA withdrawal with them takes 2-3 days. I am holding with the rest.

We are ready to go up now? The FBI bids has ended so the manipulation of the market has ended.

Nah, we have to wait till monday evening when bid will be open, before that nothing will be change.

So we will see change in the first of July, new month, new price fight. How much bidders has entered to the FBI auction?

It seems there was:

42 bidders
186 bids received
BTC quantity bid 48,013

As Barry Silbert (Second Market CEO) twitted.

317  Economy / Economics / Re: $50k to Invest - Convince Me! on: June 19, 2014, 01:04:41 PM
Seem like everyone giving you advice think bitcoin still go up many folds over the foreseeable future.

Beside dotcom bubble which make a small number of early investors extremely wealthy, I can't think of any investment that will go up exponentially for late investors.

Bitcoin market cap is 7.7Billions it could reach hundreds of billions of market cap of today's dollar considering the potential

For exemple, Paypal valuation is 40Billions

Bitcoin has many other competitors out there more than Paypal. And governments around the world are doing everything they can to discourage its usage.

Lots of people think that Bitcoin is great to do payments. I'm not sure if payment-protocol is the perfect use-case for Bitcoin.
But what I do know is, that Bitcoin is great in what it was intentionally ment to be. Good for hoarding. Good to put your savings away.

Costs you 0.- to hold it over years, compared to other commodities

The clue is that bitcoin needs to attract people, but it's only attracting people if the price is right.
And the price is only right if the chart is right.

The difference between the .com bubble and the Bitcoin bubble is that the .com companies burn money every day (because they have to pay bills, employees..... ).
The Bitcoin value doesn't get burned away by just sitting there. It only goes down if people sell and quit with Bitcoin. If more people leave than enter.

I'm here to stay

Nice argumentation, I agree

318  Economy / Speculation / Re: What the heck does "Wall street is going to 'move in'" mean? on: June 18, 2014, 10:28:43 PM
I think I know,  but I'm tired of hearing this catchy phrase. IT sounds like spam or a cheap sales pitch. Could please define a little more about what 'move in' means?

Is an exchange going to open?
Is bitcoin going to open on comex?
Are a bunch of guys with suits and ties going to dump their stocks and decide they need to bring bucketloads of cash over to bitcoin so they can join the speculation and holding circle?

Exactly what kinds of things will occur and companies and players will be involved.

To me it means an exchange opening in New York of Chicago.  The Winklevii ETF and Second Market are still just speculative investors.  I'm very excited about David Byrne's comment about listing Overstock.com as "new type" of security that rides on the bitcoin protocol.  Not just shares purchased with bitcoin, but a new type of security.  Revolutionary.

Okay. But it's Patrick Byrne. David Byrne would sing songs like "Burning down the house " and "once in a lifetime" together with the talking heads  Grin

TERA we spot you. Go create another account, this one is broken baby.
Actually I keep coming up with the solution to simply stop posting here,  since I spend all this time doing all this free TA and analysis only to be ridiculed and trolled. I've left a few times now. However, I can't seem to stick with it for more than a week. What usually ends up happening is come here just with the intent of reading whatever news is going on during a big movement and then some thread compels me to respond to it and I get caught up with this again.

Thumbs up for Tera! I regard myself as a bull, but it's just sane to see the "risk" that Bitcoin goes to 5,000 only next year.

Forum members can be divided up to the following:

- People, who have a faint idea what they are doing: Tera, rpietila, Adam, and the like
- Obvious trolls (like fonzie)
- cheering idiots who don't accept anything but Bitcoin to da moon tomorrow at the latest
- plain idiots (like me)

Maybe. Or maybe TERA is a troll.
