1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trust Index - The Original Developer Verification | Free For Next (48hrs) on: August 28, 2014, 09:05:14 AM
Good job, are you a Gvt agency?

Lets take all names of Devs and pass it onto the US Gvt, GTFO town clowns.  The whole point of Crypto, it IS pseudo anonymous

Sorry, but anyone signing up to these kind of things are just asking for "legal" trouble
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 19, 2014, 10:04:31 AM
Why are any of you still using Mintpal?

They are lazy and by the 80's level of security they had, don't care about you losing your coins either..... Think about it, Gox me once, shame on you, Gox me twice, shame on me
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 18, 2014, 02:20:26 PM
With the UTC multipool down where will you mine with them that will support UTC?

There is the millon £ question.  I can't anymore...........  Undecided

I would probably be willing to run a UTC P2p node on the other box, Crap with code though.  I don't have time, nor the inclination to start a full blown pool.

Ally, unfortunately, I can't code, it's just promo stuff, sorry, I should have been more clear /ducks for cover
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 18, 2014, 01:27:08 PM

I know you are all doing all you can to make this a success but it does not work like this, you are not doing anything different than any other vulgar coins is doing now, I wrote a few times the same, you need to do something nobody else is doing, make your coin unique!

But are you sitting on it, or spending it? to create volume and liquidity, it needs to be spent, as money is, not stashed away fornever to see the light of day?

The biggest thing anyone can do with it just now, is show retailers they need to have that coin listed as a currency, simply by actually using it to buy something

@Rapture, nice to see that post btw, I have my other work clear for now, so, I'll make a start on the wallets n stuff Monday, hung over today and setting up my baby Zeus miners this weekend.  Anyone else can easily offer, to help, Rapture is doing all he can in the background to keep things moving in the best way he knows how atm.

Step up and donate a few hours, it may even help your "investment" price  Tongue

See, I can be positive if there are positive vibes coming at me......  Wink
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 18, 2014, 03:36:47 AM

no crypto is a a dead end pyramid scheme pipe-dream full of scammers and runners which is why in the end .. it will likely fade away .. kind like pog's did when i was a kid.

Don't think so, if that's what you think, you should seriously ask yourself, "what am I doing in crypto?"

Your "Insert national currency here" is the biggest Ponzi in human history.........

If you can't see there is a future in a system that is pretty much fraudless (bar the human component, exchanges and fools believing any old crap just like they do in reality) then WHY are you here? Sure, there are idiots, on both ends, (sheep farming at weekends on BTCE anyone? hahaha, lots never learn) giving away and those taking.  Instead of calling it a "dead end pyramid" shouldn't you maybe take time out and reassess your own actions?  No one has twisted anyone's arm to do anything, therefore, whatever has brought you to that conclusion, is your own poor judgement?  Greed attracts greed.  It's hilarious to watch.  try thinking for yourselves? Do your own research!! Stupid me, what a crazy notion pffff! You are the sheep, to be farmed, "shorn" you never kill your sheep, only fleece them, again and again...........If you blindly chase after anything that moves, like most of you do, hell yeah, you can expect everyone to be standing there arms open wide to take the shirt off your back, but only if you're stupid enough to allow people!

Crypto is a baby, flipping hell, to see how much it's grown since I first started mining is insane, moves SO fast.........but the principal is the same now as it's always been is it not? that is what you're looking for, you're looking for blockchains with conviction, belief, the whole f***ing reason Satoshi gave us the "greatest social experiment" in history to date.  We were handed an implement, a tool, what we choose to do with that is only limited by your imagination, or your negativity.

As long as the way the world is run as we are told it is now, there will be discontent.  Toe the corporate line or do something yourself if you don't like the way others do things.......logic? anyone?

UTC has made some mistakes, though I do believe, that Michael (Bumface) has learnt a LOT from his experience and for that alone, UTC has been a worthwhile experiment, Bumface? shit it's what it's about aint it? none of us are perfect, none of us have the answers to 42, we are makinbg this up as we go along, don't you get it?  If you people want this coin to succeed, get the pools sorted ASAP, more the merrier, decentralisation ideology brings in more than a centralised system ever will.  Unless like most, all you give a shit about is how fast you can make that profit? (chase those untouchable squirrels, go....run faster....) and complain cause you did fuck all to actually support the system except buy a few "coins" How much interest do you make if you left your money in a bank? not much, is it?  So, even say you made 5% a year on crypto, it's more than the banks will give you.  Though my thirst for gold/silver is picking up, especially IF it breaks that $700 mark (which I always buy using crypto)  Nor does my crypto ever touch that dirty FIAT stuff, conviction, belief.  I buy food using it too, can't pay gas/electric to quit using FIAT altogether yet though  Angry

a dreamer created this world and it attracts more everyday.  Mining, ability to actually spend your "money" Nah, it'll never catch on, I mean something called cryptoCURRENCY /facepalm

It's hilarious how people see this only as "investment" you all miss the whole point.  A very fortunate few, have made "money" but for the people who want to make this work, it's not about the money, only fools think in those terms, it's very limiting, honestly.  I will take full advantage of what I have to work with and if you believe that UTC has a firm grasp of what they are doing and what they are achieving, power to you, support it by doing something, i.e. spending it.....  Have you tried asking your local shops if they accept UTC? You have? Good, keep asking, ask more shops, question everything, there is no logical reason why they shouldn't other than exchange rates, which they can fix per day, 1/2day, whatever the exchange allows them.

Despite this wall of drunken blether, I'm still waiting to see the new managements cards.  One thing this world has taught me, patience!

Stop looking for someone to blame, and instead, ask yourselves, how can I help?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 17, 2014, 12:57:40 PM
Is this the new all time low? I cant believe ppl are dumping at this price..

Miners are the coin, no pools, no miners, no coin.  This is the biggest priority atm, restoring mining confidence.  Pools are screwing UTC, people have been screwed by a pool, not by the management.  This'll be the 3rd time of asking, anyone able to setup or have any script ready to roll to setup a p2p node?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 17, 2014, 12:03:44 AM

Today, my wallet does not synchronized Sad UTC Sent with http://ultracoinpool.info purse but they did not come Sad
Guys, what's happening?

1: have you updated wallet this past week?

2: Blockchain explorer WAS http://bitgo.pw:3731/chain/Ultracoin if it was working, you could check the transaction on the chain there, but I don't have any other links to check but that one, if you can check the transaction ID, you'll have your answer
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 16, 2014, 10:29:51 AM
Ok, All now satiated upon the fact that exchanges are the weak link and the biggest crooks in crypto? good, hopefully we've all learnt something.  If not, congrats on living under a rock.

Question is, who's going to make the first UTC ATM, or trying to land the biggest shopping outlet? (anyone outside the Dev team?)

The communities "race for the moon" seems to need refueling?  Tongue
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 16, 2014, 01:45:12 AM
And the golden rule remains - only leave your funds on an exchange for the minimum time - trade and get out.

There is just a small alarm bell related to the vulnerability of central control by a malicious dev or other group - for any coin.

The first point is a great piece of advice, so many people get lazy and just leave coins on exchanges, until someone creates a truly decentralised exchange, buyer beware *cough*Gox*cough*
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 15, 2014, 04:44:37 PM
Someone give us a script to run our own nodes then.  Surely worth it if you want to maintain network security? especially if you can't get a hold of pool owners.....
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 15, 2014, 01:18:31 PM
Rolling back the block chain seems like a very dangerous idea for a coin... That disenfranchises a lot of people. Could you imagine if you are a business that was accepting VRC before a roll back? That just puts such a negative taste in my mouth.

I won't be touching Mintpal with a barge pole.  Both of them are completely dishonest IMO.  Mintpal got robbed due to their poor security, no one else's fault.  VRC are as bad for allowing people to be ripped off, clearly they have Exchanges priorities over the Investors.  But like Gox, no one will care till they lose it all
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 15, 2014, 12:31:50 PM
Hey guys, I decided I would post some pictures of what I consider very very rough drafts of the cards I was planning on making for Ultracoin. These cards could be useful for handing out to friends and family, with personalized wallet information on them. You could even use an online wallet software to create a BIP38 or SSSS key on one, this way I won't have to know the password. The back of the card can have helpful links to different websites affiliated with Ultracoin. Of course, obviously I am not the best at graphic design, if their is someone that wants to hop in and be my assistant, I can offer free cards and some Ultracoin/Dollar compensation. The picture quality is actually pretty bad, and I didn't use High Res images for printing, but you can get a general idea of what can be done with these cards. They can also be great wallets as well if anyone wants to again help with the designs. The QR codes I are easy.

Cryptsy is nick named Cr@ptsy for a reason, notorious for losing coins and delays on deposits, chill, contact Cryptsy support and wait for them to reply clueless as usual.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 13, 2014, 09:57:06 PM
Please stop focusing on price. We need adoption which will increase price & volume naturally.

Hurrah! More common sense!  Grin

Edit:

@Rapture did you get anyone for the card design you were asking for? If so, any previews yet? bit of fun

How many of you people are playing with ATM's and the like? any of you ordered the Skyhooks? completely open source, can configure any currency.....*cough*UTC*cough*

These are real world applications, this is what brings end user demand.

This is what UTC needs right now, approach companies with mad ideas, just do it, buy some raspberry PI's and make something that can utilise UTC in some way, promote the little things like that, it's what creates "framework"
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 12, 2014, 02:13:19 PM

Well written, dissapointing there are now just two of us to pick up on it though Huh

2) Price does not equal value; without real long-term solutions to increase demand,

Ultracoin will suffer as a currency.

That, is one of the most important factors for ANY product, that's where the problem lies, not in the Blockchains.......
The more services that accept UTC, the more liquidity the coin will have.  Liquidity means people are spending it, this is the goal is it not? To create the value from a usable commodity called "money" backed by TRUST over Nuclear weapons, is it not? to have it accepted and be able to buy items, or do you all just prefer to put your heads in the sand and shout "LALALALALALALA". How many of you know how fractional reserve works and understand it, and how it derives "value"?  It only has as much value as people believe, it has no inherent value (other than your greed and slavery to it)  Stop caring about price for a bit and care about how to set up business accepting it and you have something with real value, it will naturally find it's own market price.

I trade coins, but no where near as much as before, I have given up on chasing squirrels, it's stupid and you never catch them, if your lucky you'll manage to grab a few hairs off the tail as it runs past!  What I do look for now, is the support, any infrastructure, services, accessibility, so I can actually use what I mine.  What is the point of sitting on thousands of £'s when you know it's value is constantly dropping because you have none of that in place, how much can you stand to lose before you call it "ENOUGH"?  That''s the game you're all playing just now, and until you get it in your skulls that it requires more than "buy walls" you may as well open the window and throw your money out of it.

I understand you get it Rapture, but most people seem to completely miss the point.  CECVW gets it, get that guy on the team! he swears less than I do  Roll Eyes  I have been saying this forever

I have already spoken to devs for SOE (Sony online ent) they can't even understand what Bitcoin is, never mind how it works, I gave up after 90 mins.  They have no interest at this point, in fact when I explained how they could create a real world commodity in the likes of EQ2, they laughed.  The reply I got was "we have Station cards" completely missing the entire point and refusing to understand crypto has one single benefit to them.

In conclusion.  Keep chipping away with small firms if that's the way you want to go (i.e. Minecraft is a good start Bumface) but it seems there is still a LONG way to go before even guys who work in their dream geek jobs manage to even comprehend crypto and it's benefits of how they can use it to their advantage both inside and out of games.

What are the thoughts/opinions of the rest of the UTC team/community?

P.S:  Have taken wallet offline just now seeing some of these posts @UTC team, is there any issues or is everything cool?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 10, 2014, 08:23:53 PM
UTC Team react now while it's possible!
Go full POS or reduce the number of coin per block

Bit of a knee jerk reaction? that's why coins get in a mess.

The blockchain aint going nowhere, patience, if they're as committed to UTC as they say, they'll, fingers crossed, manage to build up some infrastructure around that to support it  Wink

Then you'll be worrying about price (as it climbs)
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 10, 2014, 01:53:52 AM
Still need more hash power?

Sounds as if Thiagos end needs reset if he has all the hash power, something there sounds like it's causing a fork, screwing the rest of the network

BTW: UTC team nice decision to postpone POS, more facts you have at your fingertips the better, I still think the way it works just now is fine, increase block times maybe, but that would affect network speed?

Edit: Are there any P2P nodes I can hook up to, spread hash even more?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 08, 2014, 10:57:14 AM
Blah blah blah

And you are the biggest troll of them all in this thread  Roll Eyes you sir are going on ignore, you have nothing to say other than starting fights, grow up you pathetic little man, some of us are trying to actually have a discussion without being trolled.  Yes I have calmed down, yes I have apologised.  Try doing the same.  Every time you're involved there are nothing but pages of insults and anger, you alone do more damage to UTC than anyone else combined

I'd love to see Feathercoin supported on your platform. Smiley

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 06, 2014, 12:06:55 PM

Also, I'm not that sure that no one gets it. Good arguments are being made and THAT is exactly how to convince people. And I think that (as already stated multiple times) the devs do consider everything being said here. So, probably the decision is not final yet and if people care about UTC and have important things to say to prevent it from dying, that's actually a good thing. That's at least the way I see it.

It is nice to see people here who have the ability to actually think for themselves, unlike the some of the "BAN THE TROLL" regurgitators! give it a rest, it brings nothing to the table except ignorance and creates anger.

Discussion I often get very angry with, so I apologise, but I do not suffer fools gladly and there are a lot in "crypto land"

Bumface, please let Rapture handle the PR.  Your attitude shows as detrimental and comes across as very childish, please, for UTC's sake, stop replying, let one of the others on the "TEAM"  Even if you believe it's warranted

YOU guys are selling the product, not us........

I do hope the Devs listen, some maturity around here would be more than welcome, and I do include myself in the "immature" by some of my previous posts. @Rapture, thankyou for the response, I would, but stupid forums keep screwing up my registration (though what happened to the first, deleted from inactivity?) will try again later

Does anyone else find, the people shouting "troll" the loudest, actually have the least common sense or understanding/information of what they are actually dealing with to look at this objectively?  Pure out "attack" IF I was to do so, trust me, you would know.  I trust no one with blind belief in anything and there are plenty of those here.  Ignorance is dangerous, at least now I feel there is a little more openness around here, even if it's not all positive.  All coins are in the same boat (or will be) if not, the other coins will get to this point sooner or later, unless they have millions of £ behind them, which only one coin really does!

If you don't understand how the POS works, I suggest learning some basics before shouting "TROLL" https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_Stake

Example:  FTC, look at everything they have going on right now.  ATM, the point of sales device, the new algo (soon...ish which is merely asic resistance)  Epic amount of stuff going on, no one shouts about it,  They have one of the second biggest ((almost) decentralized) blockchain infrastrucures.  Yet it's struggling, sure the price may fall, most other coins are all shouting with no substance, nothing to back their claims of being "money" No support

Until UTC learns to forget about knee jerk Algo changes that help no one and concentrate on the infrastructure to spend their "coin" it's doomed to fail, sorry guys, but it's the truth, same as every other coin out there!

There are a few small projects in UTC that are great.  But that is only the first step to creating an "economy" because unless you're a scam artist, that's exactly what you are trying to create, is it not, to support use of your "money"?

 Cool
