Hey guys, I decided I would post some pictures of what I consider very very rough drafts of the cards I was planning on making for Ultracoin. These cards could be useful for handing out to friends and family, with personalized wallet information on them. You could even use an online wallet software to create a BIP38 or SSSS key on one, this way I won't have to know the password. The back of the card can have helpful links to different websites affiliated with Ultracoin. Of course, obviously I am not the best at graphic design, if their is someone that wants to hop in and be my assistant, I can offer free cards and some Ultracoin/Dollar compensation. The picture quality is actually pretty bad, and I didn't use High Res images for printing, but you can get a general idea of what can be done with these cards. They can also be great wallets as well if anyone wants to again help with the designs. The QR codes I are easy.

Rolling back the block chain seems like a very dangerous idea for a coin... That disenfranchises a lot of people. Could you imagine if you are a business that was accepting VRC before a roll back? That just puts such a negative taste in my mouth.

Oh wow that looks great! I am loving the QR codes as well. Well, if you wanted to do help me create a wallet design that would be great, in return I will give you and your friends + family free quality wallets for life. If that sounds good to you shoot me an e-mail at steven@ultracoin.net and we can get the ball rolling!

I won't be touching Mintpal with a barge pole.  Both of them are completely dishonest IMO.  Mintpal got robbed due to their poor security, no one else's fault.  VRC are as bad for allowing people to be ripped off, clearly they have Exchanges priorities over the Investors.  But like Gox, no one will care till they lose it all

So what's with the Multipool payouts.  I haven't had a payout since July 10.  Seems there are others and the message on the pool has been up since before my last payout.  Is this related to the transaction issues with exchanges?

Hello community,

Sorry for the late responds but Paul and Myself are abroad and the internet is very poor here!!

Problems with wallet/exchanges
We checked the new wallet and for now it looks like all the problems where exchanges and not UTC.
We tested mintpal, cryptsy ( dont send big amounts yet ) and wallet to wallet etc... everything fine

Blockexplorer
We are busy with the blockexplorer and hopefully the Mysql error message will be gone soon

Multipool
We think there are meby problems with the multipool so please switch to the normal pools ( PLEASE watch that the Hash is spread nicely )

We cant reach Hayden ( multipool dev ) and Thiago ( normaal pool DEV ) is also on it!!! so lets hope that he isnt M.I.A

Overall
We are busy on the background with the minecraft plugin and getting information for the best way the new wallet will be coded!
- Full POSS
- Dark gravity
- Stealth Transactions
- Etc.

SO STAY TUNED!

Just a thought: when you post a new wallet and update the original post with the new link and version number, it would be helpful to also include a date for the update. Thanks.

Someone give us a script to run our own nodes then.  Surely worth it if you want to maintain network security? especially if you can't get a hold of pool owners.....

Probably. That is the reason for all problems we had lately. Soon I'm going on vacation as well Smiley It's time to take some rest and not to worry about UTC, stock exchange, work etc. Cheesy

Friends, I have two questions:
1. How do you see your transfer operations in blockchain? Can you describe the sequence of actions? I will be grateful.
2. I wrote earlier but no response from the developers and was not. At version 1.0.4.0 purse and 1.0.4.1 in Mench were observed following problems - purse works for 5-10 seconds, then freezes (not responding) and so constantly. Because of this synchronization process becomes very long, and in the wallet really nothing you can do, because have to wait for 5-10 seconds until it will work again.

"Coздaть ceнcopнyю ceть гopoдa - этo нe дopoгo, нe cлoжнo и пo cooтнoшeнию зaтpaты / эффeкт для гopoдa - нeoцeнимo! Seriously, what IS going on with the MP?! Going on almost a week without a payout, and this is after the message that payouts "hopefully" would occur on a normal schedule. I understand that *people* take vacations, but businesses/multipools do not. Please get it together guys.

Cryptsy deposits of UTC and other coins are delayed.

All deposits are being done manually as a security precaution - until it is known exactly how MintPal was hacked.

My deposit of UTC 8 hrs ago recd at Cryptsy  - but 0 Cryptsy confs while 1200 blockchain confs

It seems MintPal had weaker security than the average private user - too many coins in hot wallet, no trigger for additional verification of significant withdrawal amounts and no adequate password security, no SOP for staff to follow for managing limits in hot wallets (and required transfers to cold wallets) and significant SQL vulnerabilities.

Seriously - after all the issues that exchanges have had to date - there is no excuse good enough from MintPal on this one.  At least they were honest in their timely delivery of details. MintPal says it will introduce stricter protocols from now on - but its really too late - they should have already been in place. I wont consider trading with them - and a lot of others agree.

And the golden rule remains - only leave your funds on an exchange for the minimum time - trade and get out.

What I am really impressed by is the VRC developers actions on the rollback which will lead to the return of funds - perfectly justified for them to step in and manipulate the blockchain.  This is great hope for any future large hacks - and hopefully a deterrent.  I suppose though the next concern though is the possibility of malicious rollbacks and creating new transactions to different wallets as the VRC devs have done.

There is just a small alarm bell related to the vulnerability of central control by a malicious dev or other group - for any coin.

I NEVER have any issues with Cryptsy - but a word of advice

NEVER send exchange to exchange - send exchange to your wallet - then send to next exchange (exchanges manually verify exchange/exchange transfers)

I have tested in/out of Cryptsy from my wallets many times over last 5 days - all working 100% and less than 2 mins for 6 confs

Note that MintPal lost 30% of all VRC (hacked) - they will roll back the blockchain apparently to try to recover.  This was a MintPal security weakness.  After all thats happened so far - not acceptable no matter how professionally they handle the cleanup.

Can you imagine the issues with wallet to wallet transactions this will cause?

this wont be helping price on this exchange at all

MintPal is likely history - Caput

Cryptsy is often known as Craptsy - but I have never had any serious issues, they have never lost any coins (to my knowledge) AND their support is actually fantastic!

Mintpal will not be considered a serious exchange by serious investors again.

Best advice is to get your MintPal UTC over to Cryptsy - If you want to sell.

I would not even go to MintPal to buy cheap there

do not worry everybody, i have 100 BTC and i will buy 10,000,000 UTC at 0.00001

Put your buy order before its to late...

[quote mintpal]

and remember...
...
remember also Xwebnetwork his strong motto; “If you are going through hell, keep going".   !
...

I tried sending coins to cryptsy today. They show in the deposits but confirmation counter stays at 0. Opened support ticket, waiting.

Exchanges have recovered from worse and Mintpal still has a lot of support, it's a great place for arbitrage. Cryptsy is fine, but their support often has issues dealing with problems like negative balance, they also tend to disable deposits/withdrawals/wallets without notifying people, they don't even bother mentioning it on their twitter feed. Not mention the lag, although that's less of a an issue lately. Have you tried sending UTC to Cryptsy in the past 12 hours or so? I'm curious if you had any success depositing UTC because my deposits have been stuck at 0 confirms for quite a while now as well.

The first point is a great piece of advice, so many people get lazy and just leave coins on exchanges, until someone creates a truly decentralised exchange, buyer beware *cough*Gox*cough*

MintPal essentially assassinated themselves. They had the market lead, everything going for them, and...... they just threw it away. They really SHOULD have known better.

Huh? Obviously other exchanges are just as scared of the same thing happening to them. This is hardly flat out neglect on MintPal's part. I doubt they will see much of a decline in trading volume as the bottom line is, end-users didn't lose their coins (because of the dev's roll back). So MintPal will probably escape this a little wiser and pretty much unscathed. The industry as a whole will benefit from what they will learn about this security breach.

It would really suck if you traded Bitcoin for Vericoin in a private exchange. I feel that this will have a lot of repercussions for Vericoin and its investors. Imagine the poor folks buying Vericoin right now, and what about the folk who bought in right after the security breach. They will never receive their money back that they used to purchase the coin and will lose Vericoin that they did purchase do to the rollback. This is the coin devs and mintpal deciding to pick winners and losers to cover themselves, I think they should have just learned from their mistakes and moved on. Don't keep money on exchanges, if you haven't learned from Mt. Gox you might not ever.

Well, I'm glad I always followed this rule. Until now, there were three exchanges (Mt.Gox, MintPal and another one I used to trade on) which ran into problems and in at least two of those cases I would have lost a considerable amount of money if I had left my coins at the exchange.

So please, guys. Follow this advice!
