1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum gas problem to be resolved in July on: February 23, 2021, 09:44:50 AM
I know there are a lot of things regarding what Ethereum 2.0 could bring to the crypto world. It shouldn't be dismissed immediately with all the fuss. As long as it's going to improve the network and help crypto members, like me, to get a decent transaction fee that wouldn't hurt. Shocked

I haven't considered the part where people changed coins and probably switching up to BNB for the fees or something. Could that be the reason for it's multiple ATH recently?
For BNB? Yes it is, even fee projects on erc20 have move to binance smart chain, a little drop of water can make a mighty ocean they say, ethereum gas fee is way too high for small time investors who have no thousand of dollars to invest on crypto projects, if few thousands of people invest just 100$ per each person on a project it's already huge money but high gas fee will ruin everything
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your bull run profit 2021 on: February 23, 2021, 09:27:04 AM
I got 12000USD Profit.  Investment was 990 USD.  I hope all you got profits. share experience even losses , we can get experience from it and then ready for next bull run.
Wow, haven't make anything close to 2k dollars since the beginning of this year, I guess I'm holding shitcoins, the 1000$ gain I got was from bitcoin and that's it, I was too quick to take my profit though if not I would have made more from bitcoin but all hopes are focused on my altcoin bags
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Great miners in the house, your help is needed! on: February 23, 2021, 09:20:03 AM
Run your OS from a pendrive and not HDD to cut down power consumption, also get rid of that core i5, it consumes up to 75watt at idle and God knows how much it will draw at 6 to 10% load, motherboard consumes up to 40watt on its own, I guess your calculation is correct, my advice is get a wattmeter to fully understand what you are doing
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how many GPUs will this board support for mining ? on: February 13, 2021, 11:35:04 AM
Hi guys,

i found out my X99 Deluxe actually has 5x PCI full size Slots and one Small PCI-E Slot,

https://dlcdnimgs.asus.com/websites/global/products/WodJPah7ECKFSsxv/img/hp/overview/overview-full.png

my question here will this board support 6x GPUs for mining or just 5x ?...

can a gpu be hooked up through a riser to the Small PCI-E Slot or not ??...

thanks,
Six slots are available on the motherboard so why asking how many gpus it will support? The PCIe slots are very close to each other though and I think that's a bad idea for mining, you will need to get risers to mine safely on that motherboard
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Defi can compete with BTC? on: February 13, 2021, 11:32:55 AM
Bitcoin will keep it's hype forever and it's a stable hype but with DeFi everything is different, almost every week one DeFi project must be compromised or hacked, many DeFi projects will go down once this bull season is over because that's what I believe, only very little DeFi projects know what they are actually doing
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4 x 3060ti build on: February 13, 2021, 11:19:22 AM
Mining have to become a part of you to really really embrace the whole idea because it's fun for real fans and when bear market takes over it still won't make many difference to real mining fans, they will keep mining and hold their coins till the good time to sell, to me there is not much difference between mining and investing
Not everyone mine coins for the fun of it, people only care about making back their return of investment only, what fun is there to gain if you can't make good amount of money from something you spend thousands of dollars on? Mining is all about your ROI
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EVGA Geforce 1660 super SC Ultra Low Hashrate (20 MH) Ethash (SOLVED!) on: February 13, 2021, 11:14:06 AM
I have the same issue 20hash. I tried the memory and clock at anyway and still doesn't work better than 23.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers,

Can you confirm is due to the 452.06 version?

Regards

I have 1 1660 super with hynix memory (MSI ventus xs) and i can get it run to 32 Mhs using -502 core and memory at 62% power limit. The driver i am using is the 446.14 version and it's stable for mining since june last year if i remember correctly. If you think it's driver issue then you can try to download another driver version but are you sure you have the hynix memory? not micron or samsung?

Right.. My memory is Kingston as far as I know and its 4 Gig. And the 1660 super version is the EVGA.

I will try with the drivers and let you know guys , thanks for the tip.
Lol mate there is no graphic cards with kingston memory, kingston is ram memory, use gpuz to check, download GPU-Z and launch the software it will give you the name of the memory your gpu is using not your ram stick, haha
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can driver affects miner performance? on: February 13, 2021, 11:10:34 AM
Can driver version affects the performance of a mining rig to the pool? I was using a old nvidia driver and I updated to the latest perform then I noticed better performance when using NB miner, reports of hashrate on pool is more accurate, strange 🤔🤔🤔🤔
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is It Still Profitable To Mine Cryptos In 2021 on: February 12, 2021, 02:06:25 PM
Currently mining and my ROI is far away, if bear comes very soon it will take me longer to get my ROI back but I'm in for long and short term run though, whatever happens I'm ready, also electricity costs is something you must look into before buying miners or gpu
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cvc,Cardano or Polkadot? on: February 12, 2021, 02:03:28 PM
If there is possible bull runs in coming months Cardano and Polkadot are insanely good, also avalanche is very good too, you mentioned the best projects already mate, what matters now is risk management, make sure you invest only what you can afford to lose, if bear season starts at any time you will be in loss
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best option? 2 little psu or one big on: February 12, 2021, 01:57:53 PM
Well the evga super nova is in usa amazon maybe the op can not buy from the usa amazon

 https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Supernova-Modular-Warranty-220-G5-1000-X1/dp/B07WMTD41Z/ref=sr_1_1?

the pcie cables are 8pin and 6p which needs an adapter to work for 3070

the seasonic 1000watt is 259

https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-GX-1000-Full-Modular-Application-SSR-1000FX/dp/B07WVWJW8N/ref=sr_1_1?

the seasonic 850 watt is 129

https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-Semi-Modular-Systems-Warranty-Application/dp/B084TSBB2R/ref=sr_1_1?

semi-moduler

2x the price for 150 watts is a rip off.

I do think you found him a 1200 watt they is good if he can buy it.

https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Toughpower-Modular-Warranty-PS-TPD-1200MPCGUS-1/dp/B00LZVOK18/ref=sr_1_3?
@philipima1957 so 6pin to 8pin cable do works? Why are people taking about fire here and there then? I knew 6pin connector is cable of powering a 8pin gpu with plug extension, pls confirm this for me, am I right or wrong?

this cable may work

https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-2-Pack-6-Pin-Adapter/dp/B01DV1Z32Y/ref=sr_1_3?

may not.  I give it 95% on a 3070 if you set watts to 150 or less.

I would never use it on a 3090.  As they can pull tons of power.

I never melted gpu pcie cables of any psu mining if attached to gpus.
I have melted pcie cables attached to asic miners.

I have melted pico adapters attached to server psu's mining with gpus
I have melted sata to riser cables mining with gpu's
I have melted molex to riser cable mining with gpus's

been mining with gpus for 9 years (hard to believe it is that long)

If I were op I would look for the  thermal take.  but I very likely would just run 2 mobos  rather than 1 six card.

the money is in the 3070's the other stuff is less important.

I would do a 850 watt seasonic focus 2 gpus 1 mobo

I would do a 1200 watt thermal take  4 gpus 1 mobo

rather than muscle a six card mobo.

Logic is cards are safer in 2 rigs from a total disaster.

As we all know getting cards is crazy hard to do.
I guess the cable will work perfectly ok on cards that draw less wattage like gtx1660 Ti or super, I won't dare use it on a big card like RTX 3080/3090, not safe IMO I believe this can really make the fire wish come true 🤣
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Benefited from AME Token? on: February 12, 2021, 01:41:48 PM
I still not even benefitted by Ame token. As the market is high now so everyone should hold. Holding is best rather to sell. I heard it would be moon so soon. So I am waiting for that time,
What else can we do? If you aren't ready to hold for AME tokens then you are ready to pay expensive gas fee to send tokens to exchange, as much as I feel like selling my amepay tokens the gas fee is killing the idea off my head
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I get started with mining, when I don't need to pay electrical costs? on: February 11, 2021, 03:41:21 PM
Hey, I'm a student located in Germany!

I thought you could help me in finding good hardware for my needs and also what to mine.
Currently I'm living in a student appartement with several units, where I don't have to pay any extra
for electrical costs. I recently started to inform myself about mining and tried to use nicehash as a starter.
That worked quite fine, but I also know that many don't like it for several reasons and in the long term I don't
want to rely on a thrid party. I used my gaming PC for a month (rtx 2080 super) and liked the results, so I decided
to start with actual mining.

I want to spend around 1000€ (~1200$), because thats what I am able to invest without getting in trouble if I loose it all.
Because I am living in a small appartement with just one room I need my mining rig to not be louder than 40-50DB,
cost under or around 1000€ and also not beeing insanly chunky.

Is there any hardware currently available that I can get in Germany in my price range that fits my needs?
I have not decided what to mine yet, guess that also depends on the hardware I can get my hands on. I also don't
have a preference in which kind of hardware I want to use as long as it meets my expectations above.

Thanks for your help!
It's good that you are using the exact amount you can afford to lose, that's good to hear mate, since you are on free electricity it's better to use big graphic cards for some reasons like they won't contain huge space and people eye won't be on you since you don't own the house you living, start looking into RX5700 XT, I think two if these cards are enough, you will get around up to 55MH per gpu and that can fecth you 10$ per day right now
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Massive difference in results on: February 11, 2021, 03:35:52 PM
Fact about pools and miners is you won't know until you try, there are other things to consider when running on windows, the truth is windows OS is bad for mining, there are too many issues when using windows to mine and the most popular issue is low in hashrate, better find a Linux build mining OS like Hiveon OS and say good bye to all crypto mining issues
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stay away from new POW coins on: February 11, 2021, 03:30:57 PM
Choose new altcoins to mine only if they are really good and attractive, look at their use utilities if it's going to benefit the masses this is the only way to know if the coin is worth mining and holding it they list on exchanges, LOKI was damn good, even havven was good too, DYOR
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you also mine any of these coins? on: February 11, 2021, 03:18:42 PM
Guys in 2017 I mine these coins and since then I just keep their recovery seeds till date, I never went back to check and I don't even bother to follow their telegram groups, are they still running ? Did you also mine any of these coins?

1. Qwerty coin
2. Worktips
3. BBScoin
4. NiobioCash
5. Solace
6. Turtle coin
There is always a lesson to learn in crypto space, all these coins I mined also and I have large quantities of them but only turtle coin is alive right now and still worth mining, Solace is a big failure, it's meant to be a child fundraising project but it failed, that was because I have not much experience between good projects and bad projects, now I can never mine such coins
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of Ethereum smart contracts with +$20 cost of gas? on: February 10, 2021, 05:28:56 PM
Right now Ethereum aint a place for low investors because they won't be able to transfer their 50 dollars worth of tokens to exchange, gas fee is very high and out those that have large amount of tokens will find it easy to use still, the only chance people like us have is hope that a surge on the little amount of tokens we had
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / POC still have a chance? on: February 10, 2021, 05:22:45 PM
Who mine burstcoin when hdd mining was still a thing? It's like we aren't going to see any new project using proof of capacity (POC) anymore, it seems the idea behind this POC algorithm is a complete waste of time, what do you think?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Just a curiosity on: February 10, 2021, 05:20:46 PM
What will happen to Ethereum proof of work if asic miners are banished? Will the mining profitability reduce marginally or it won't affect the ROI? Are higher Hashrates better or not? Wil it affect Ethereum value ?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In which token i invest? on: February 06, 2021, 08:20:50 PM
Hello friends i have around 200$ in Ethereum. I want to invest for getting some profit. Tell me about your experience. What tokens or coins are best for invest this time.
You already have one of the best altcoin in crypto space why are you looking forward to sell for another altcoin? You are doing a big mistake here, Ethereum can easily turn 2000$ very soon, there is room to make more profits with that 200$ if you can hold, I would rather hold eth than any other coins or tokens right now
