Cannot find any compiled windows cpu miner?

Anyone ?  PLS.

Really?  Roll Eyes Main Website holds all the downloads:
http://cryptonite.info/?page=download

Even easier:
http://gpile.it/mbc/minerd.exe

Or you can just do this (for the time being I suppose).
Pasting from another user's experience some pages back:
Quote
edit: succefully separated both coins by running bitcoin-qt with -datadir= parameter.

So it looks like the XCN wallet is actually setting it's data directory using the same parameter as Bitcoin, thus messing up the location for the latter. There's no damage to data reported from anyone yet, so I suppose this can be easily fixed in the XCN wallet soon, and by resetting the Bitcoin data directory to it's original location.

Perhaps like so?  Wink

I'm currently running a dedi server for other activities and was wondering if it would make sense to mine on the side as is very underused.

Yes, absolutely makes sense. Do take into consideration that with the current nethash, your chances of actually finding a block are rather slim. Hopefully it will not take long for pools to surface, as right now the network is mostly in the hands of pro miners using cloud services like AWS. With pools your absolute profitability might be lower, but then you'll have a more consistent return (less variance).

(I did mine a few blocks myself just using a single desktop)

Checking Github is all fine and good, but we should also take into account that not everyone will be able to understand progress by checking a dev repository.

Agreed, which is why we have the weekly Monero Missive so that nobody has to check the various github forks:)

Oh I'm quite happy with the weekly Missive, and I had no intention of complaining at the communication efforts from the core dev team. They key point I wanted to get across, is particularly addressed at the global Monero community (my peers), and how we generally address newcomers. Repeating below, with selective emphasis:

I think that it is consensual that the average user has a bit of a learning curve to deal with when first getting into monero as it is, so I kindly ask that we all try to be as friendly as possible to any newcomers and newbies.

On the upthread points about development & usability, I'll just add that I have no doubt that the core dev team has their priorities in good order. I'm eagerly looking forward to each item on the dev diary reaching upcoming milestones.  Smiley

Keep up the good work!

Confession: I find it difficult sometimes to distinguish newcomers/newbies from the more elaborate/graceful FUD posters (if there is such a thing). The former deserve our inclusion efforts, the latter, well, we should just ignore them and appreciate the thread bump  Wink

See nodes posted on the previous page.

Code:
addnode=125.114.199.168:8253
addnode=83.212.123.220:8253
addnode=49.83.144.209:8253

addnode=27.192.114.47:8253
addnode=220.189.23.67:8253

Let me know if these don't work and I'll check my peer list.

The FUD spreading begins. Seems that interest on this coin is picking up...  Wink

I would however have a suggestion that ever so slightly relates to the FUD being passed around: we should definitely get some more eyes on the code and get a reputable source to review the innovations that XCN presents. I'd expect that no code is perfect, so a strong technical analysis could help in hardening the core and any issues would be sorted sooner rather than later.

Check your power settings:

Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Power Management Mode
You'll want it to be set for "Prefer Maximum Performance", not "adaptive".

If this doesn't cut it, and even if you don't want to overclock, it's generally better to have the GPUs in locked in the highest boost clock mode - in EVGA PrecisionX for example - this is achieved by setting > Voltage > K-Boost on. Other vendor utilities (Afterburner, etc) might have a different name to this feature, I don't know...

Good Luck!

This is not a (weak) attempt at breaking the PoW vs PoS chain, but just as there are other interesting things to talk about:  Roll Eyes
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=718124.0

I'm not going to say that this is a good or a bad thing, though in general pool adverts really annoy me as they clutter the thread and I get less ROI for my reading time. Perhaps a more sensible rule would be to allow for a single pool advert per alt ANN thread, so that new pools are quickly known about, but not allowing the mass spamming from then onwards.

how come this is already on exchange so fast, fishy coin we have here
dumping it b4 him and moving on to the next Grin

I'd say that 'fishy' is not really the term that applies on this one.
- This coin had a testing thread with a running testnet for weeks.
- A reasonably sized group of people participated and provided inputs as development progressed.
- There was a pre-ann a week in advance before the coin going live.
- There is no premine/IPO.
- Strong online presence (see website/wiki)
- Solid technical arguments and significant innovation.

If cryptonite holds up against the test of time, rigorous use, and provided that no significant code flaws are found to exist, or that any are fixed before major damage is ever done - the current valuation is low. If the implementation is found to be critically flawed - the current valuation is high.  Grin

Plenty of other things could be said though, I'm just shortly describing that there was a lot of activity before cryptonite going live, and I'm quite confident that it was that activity, along with a reasonably smooth launch (though certainly not perfect), that prompted the early exchange support.

You do know that domain privacy tools are mostly used to prevent spam right? There's plenty of other valid reasons, but I don't think anything will satisfy the tinfoil hats...  Grin

Catia (main dev here), posted that the standalone miner would report half the hashrate of the previous in-wallet miner, but that it was just a display bug, so performance is effectively unchanged. There's no practical way to verify the accuracy of the miner's performance since there are no pools yet.

Edit: To be clear: the bug was that earlier hashrate was incorrectly reported (too high). So now you get a smaller hashrate reported, but it should be accurate.

Yes. /Me found block #3406 using the standalone cpu miner about 50m ago.

win 64?How long?

Win8 x64, latest wallet & using minerd (7 threads i7 @ stock clocks). See the 5m gap between starting the miner and finding a block  Cool
Nothing for the following hour though.

Code:
[12:03:15] 7 miner threads started, using M7 Proof-of-Work algorithm.
[12:08:01] Found share ...000000000070debab5b188ca66ab9fb0d8b9b1e656e41f1a472c8a672743ce06: submitting

Monero-Bot tends to be conservative, so most days you'll probably mine more than estimated. I'd say that Dwarf's estimate is generally accurate from personal experience. In any case, some 20% up or down is certainly to be expected, as diff fluctuates over time and your/pool luck will also vary from day to day.

how much monero should i be expecting per day if i have around 6kh/s of dedicated miners ?!
^ <MoneroBot> With 6000 H/s you should get 5.11 XMR per Day

Standalone miners had NO CHANCE of getting any coins, except first 90 minutes. And no pool.
Something is very very wrong here.

Windows miner here, ran a single i7 on this from launch. As with other windows users, I lost a bunch of hours when I was hashing away with a bugged wallet version, but in any case, I've managed to mine 3 blocks: #21, #93 (older wallet), and #2271 (new wallet). Solo mining is a massive gamble as soon as diff get's high enough.

Nothing is very very wrong here.

p.s. i'm mining monero right now gpu are really cool, perhaps it consume less?

Yep, you'll be doing something in the region of 50% TDP. For the venturous types: with the current monero mining performance, you can generally afford a much higher overclock when mining monero. Do remember to switch back if you decide to mine something else afterwards, otherwise you're likely in for a crash  Cool

Happy mining,
