How split tickets.

Kudos to Decred Brazil for the ingenuity to have found a useful solution that everyone needs! I wish someone who has already tried it would blog a review, with step by step instructions. Haha.

Other stake pools should follow soon.

Kudos to Matheus Degiovani who is the decrediton dev who developed the split ticket.

The decredbrasil stake pool, was only the first pool to trust on the project and contribute in the alpha and beta tests.

The beta test has been going on for 4 months with no flaws. A lot of people are participating.

Does anyone know how long a live ticket takes to get voted through a pool?

max is ~3 months, i seem to be averaging about 6-7 weeks lately

The average is around 28 days

In 16 hours the votes to approve or not the marketing companies will be closed.

Both options are excellent and with each ticket is possible to vote in both of them for a more complete campaign.

Exercise your power of decred management. That's the main DCR difference!

EDIT: just one and a half hours

Did Decred developers, or did the community pay for the listing fees? I heard that Binance makes a lot of profit from it because they are very expensive.

No one paid.
CZ tweeted that it was for our strong community  Cool

After cointelegraph publish an extremely anti-ethical article about this subject, not citing Decred and making it appear that this was done on ETH blockchain, the ETHnews site surprised me by writing this article giving the proper credits to DCR and teaching some cointelegraph "journalists" what is an impartial and ethical text. Congratulations for the ETHnews attitude.

https://www.ethnews.com/brazilian-presidential-candidate-announces-plans-for-blockchain-tech-in-government

"Fernando Haddad, the Workers' Party presidential candidate, has put his plans and statements on a blockchain platform.

The Brazilian presidential race is heating up, and the candidates have different ideas about how to use blockchain technology.

REDE party candidate Marina Silva used the Decred blockchain to create an immutable and transparent record of donations made to her campaign. New Party candidate João Amoêdo stated that if he were elected, he would implement a "Digital Government" and give Brazilians an electronic identity that could be enabled through blockchain technology.

As the Brazilian presidential race heads into its second phase, Fernando Haddad of the Workers' Party has decided to use blockchain technology to discredit what he is calling "fake news" reports concerning his ideas, polices, and personal life. According to Haddad's website, his proposals for the presidency have been altered and changed in an effort to manipulate voters. To combat the manipulation of his ideas, Haddad decided to put his 13-point government plan on the Decred blockchain to create an unalterable record unable to be used for malicious purposes.

Hadad's use of blockchain for this purpose mirrors a larger trend to leverage the technology to counter the spread of false information. In February of this year, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin suggested that a prediction market be added to social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook wherein participants staked Ether and voted to decide whether a post was a scam or legitimate news. If the consensus were that a post was "fake news," those who voted in favor of the post would have their Ether taken away as punishment and vice versa for the posts found to be legitimate.

A few companies are already trying to use the technology to fight misinformation, too. Verasity and Civil are two blockchain companies hoping to incentivize users to participate in policing the legitimacy and ethics of media content.

The hurdle, however, to create an effective distributed enforcement mechanism to identify misinformation is that it would rely on people, and the public has proven that it is not very good at differentiating between fake and real news. Additionally, people would have to care enough about getting rid of fake news to risk their hard-earned money to prove or disprove a certain post or news article."

Calling someone popular in Decred, please make a proposal for the ability to buy less than a whole ticket. I have some Decreds left that are doing nothing. Hahaha. Cool

Ticket splitting is already possible in 2 pools.
But it takes a minimum of 5 DCR so that the income isn't consumed by the fees.

Politeia is going live!
As of today, all Decred stakeholders have the power to vote on proposals via https://proposals.decred.org
Through this platform they decide which proposals get funded by the project treasury.
The future of Decred is fully in the hands of those who HODL  Cool

Amazing article from Coindesk:

"BREAKING: Decred is handing control of its $21 million treasury and all aspects of the protocol, from consensus through staffing, over to token holders."

Haddad, a presidential candidate of Brazil registered his plan of government in the decred blockchain using www.originalmy.com

In the article on his site speaks only in blockchain, doesn’t quote decred, but just click on "foi registrado" and below on “Serviço” > “certificado” and will be led to the blockexplorer of Decred where it was made. https://www.obrasilfelizdenovo.com/haddad-blockchain-bitcoin-plano-governo/

Brazil are already in the second round and the dispute is between him and the ultra right-wing candidate Bolsonaro

Here are the infos about the registration of the government plan in the decred blockchain https://originalmy.com/bitregistro/088e82f064705bd7d33fe708c1084b43898d5739fe7a5ff6bff14a9c0a889853

Holy shit! New Decredition update (1.3.0) brought some awesome changes to the gui. Looks beautiful, nice job devs.  Cool

Latest wallet have more professional looking layout and new implementation will make it more reliable and user friendly. No doubt the team is putting their all best efforts on this project to make this next big thing.

after upgrading from 1.1.3 I seem to be stuck at:

Discovering addresses...

...any suggestions, or I should I just let it run for a few more days ?

close and restart

thank you for reply again nice community here...
I like Decred but I am new with lots to learn and read for myself.....Decred the coin for me....after seeing this coin for the first time on Kucoin maybe more like be will join Decred....

what is the best Decred pool for newbie to start and learn.?

You're welcome

The official pools are these. You will find with higher and lower fees, but as the fee is applied on the ticket prize and not on the total value of it, the difference is not so great.

I particularly prefer decredbrasil, not only because I am brazilian, but I know the owners, I participated in its creation, it's the pool with the largest number of servers spread around the world and in strategic positions that decrease latency.
When your ticket is drawn and your DCR is unlocked for the purchase of another ticket, you receive an email advising.

why is they a limited number tickets ?
thanks for reply.....I looking to get 100 I think this will cover me to buy tickets to stake

Explaining in a simple way, each block can generate from 0 to 20 tickets.
This quantity is demand-related.
Each round of POS takes 144 blocks (~12 hours) ie can be created up to 2880 tickets per round.
The ticket's price is calculated through a complex formula that takes into account how many tickets are or were "live" in the latest rounds.
More tickets the price goes up, fewer tickets the price drops.
100 DCR is enough for you to buy a ticket at this time and there are still a few coins left.

hi I new to Decred can I ask please why does the price of staking decred rise in price. thank you

the price may increase or decrease. It depends on demand. There is a limited number of tickets per round.

What is the origin and meaning of the name "Decred"? How is it pronounced?

DEcentralised CREDit

Pronounce: "Decred (/ˈdi:ˈkred/, /dɪˈkred/, dee-cred) is an open, progressive, and self-funding cryptocurrency with a system of community-based governance integrated into its blockchain. The project mission is to develop technology for the public benefit, with a primary focus on cryptocurrency technology. Decred, as a currency and as a project, is bound by the following set of rules, which include guiding principles, a system of governance, and a funding mechanism. These rules have been established in an effort to create an equitable and sustainable framework within which to achieve Decred‘s goals."

Lately i've noticed a big drop off in my staking rewards, like maybe down 30-40% from the number I was getting 3 months ago, has there been a large increase in the proportion of coins staking? Has anyone else had a similar drop? I'm using a staking pool, so my tickets are online all the time.

Maybe the pool you use has reduced the number of servers.
I use https://stake.decredbrasil.com which charges a "high" fee, but the quality is excellent.
Recently they increased the number of servers and the users are commenting that who has 10 tickets has around 1 ticket voted every 1 or 2 days in the latest weeks.

This pool is already  working with ticket splitting

I don't see how the # of servers has anything to do with winning a ticket. I would think they just need high uptime so you don't miss any tickets if they win.

More servers positioned in the right places decreases latency
