blablablah shit
shit shit shit blah blah
blah blah blah shit

1- If you want to talk to any of the devs, look for them where they all are. On official forum and on slack

2- In what way asics harm or prevent the Politeia from existing?
The dev team has no connection with any of the asics manufacturers.

3- The blake algorithm was chosen and improved to decred, because it's more modern, secure and with numerous advantages over others who already have asic, such as sha256 and script. That is why it is not enough to just make a hard fork to one that already accepted asic and is inferior in security. duh  Tongue

4- Go and study a little more about crypto currencies before talking so much shit

5- I suggest changing your name to grinch.

Where to buy tokens?

Poloniex, bittrex, bleutrade, shapeshift, inside of exodus wallet, changelly

Does Exodus have a fee for using it? I know it has high fees for trading but do not know if there is a fee for storing cryptocurrencies in there.

The exodus doesn't charge any fee.
Maybe the network rate can be set to a high value for the transaction to be fast. You can change this on settings.
The fees for exchanging currencies are those charged by shapeshift that is used to do this work.

Which one would you recommend exodus wallet or wallet.decred.org?

if you aren't stake I prefer exodus.
It's an amazing wallet.
If you think about doing POS mining, then decrediton is better.

I've already seen some similar ICO, why are you different?

There is no ICO in Decred.
ICO is scam, people pay a pre-set amount off the market for a promise written on a piece of paper that has not even begun to be developed and which usually will never be.

The funny thing is that these same people often criticize a premine, where devs need to work to make the market value the coins that will serve as their payment.
All the similar projects you saw are copies of Decred.

Decred is a project that finances itself through its own mined coins.

With each block 60% of the coins are destined to the POW miners, 30% to the POS miners confirming the POW mining, avoiding that a concentration of hashrate can determine the path of the coin and 10% are destined to the development fund.
At the beggining, a premine was made to finance the currency until the 10% of mining reached a reasonable amount for that.

Contrary to what the fudders say, the premine doesn't go all for the main devs.
8% of the total coins were premined, of these 8%, half were distributed to thousands of people around the world through airdrop.
Of the remaining 4%, about 1% went to the initial development fund, paying for marketing, design and also other devs. Still leaving an amount that continues in this fund.

Only around 3% were allocated to main devs as payment for all the work done since 2013, including the development of BITCOIN SUITE, which today is responsible for enabling ATOMIC SWAPS and is a fundamental basis for the development of LIGHTNING NETWORK.
Work recognized and consecrated by other currencies devs and also by LN developers. 3% divided by more than 10 people.

Ethereum was coded using the bitcoin suite developed by Decred devs.

https://themerkle.com/decred-will-receive-lightning-network-upgrade-by-late-november/

Decred Will Receive Lightning Network Upgrade by Late November

"Lightning Network technology will introduce a completely new era for cryptocurrency in general. Most people associate this technology with Bitcoin, although Litecoin will have its own version of the Lightning Network as well. As it turns out, Decred’s developers have been working on a similar solution. In fact, any cryptocurrency with SegWit activated on the mainnet can benefit from this technology.

DECRED’S LIGHTNING NETWORK IS COMING SOON

There have been multiple discussions regarding the Lightning Network over the past year. In virtually every case, these discussions have pertained to Bitcoin’s implementation of LN in the future. In order to bring this technology to Bitcoin users, we first needed Segregated Witness to properly activate. That has been a monumental task, as most people are well aware. However, things are progressing nicely in this regard, even though there remains a lot of work to be done in the coming months.

Bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency to have activated Segregated Witness over the past few months, though. In fact, the world’s leading cryptocurrency was pretty late to the party in that regard. Litecoin activated SegWit well ahead of Bitcoin, which allowed the former’s developers to create their own version of the Lightning Network. Dubbed aptly the Litening Network, it will allow for micropayments with Litecoin in the near future. It will be interesting to see how different cryptocurrencies “compete” in this regard over the next few years.

It now turns out there is a Lightning Network in development by Decred as well. Even though most people may have ignored this altcoin over the past few months, the currency is quickly making a name for itself. That’s not only because it can be merge-mined with popular altcoins, but also due to its own activation of Segregated Witness. Moreover, Decred’s developers have been working together with the Litecoin team on cross-chain atomic swaps. It is this latter development which will open up a lot of new and exciting doors in the future.

According to a recent Reddit thread, the Decred Lightning Network should be coming to market at the end of this month. That is rather ambitious, although not impossible to achieve by any means. Some of the features were developed on the Decred network with the latest Thunderstruck update, which involved some changes to the consensus mechanism. More specifically, a new vote ID was introduced, which can be set up through the main wallet or a stake pool’s website accordingly.

It is evident that Lightning Network technology is of great importance to the cryptocurrency industry as a whole. Not only will it introduce micropayments for popular currencies, but it will also show the world that instant payments with cryptocurrency are a very real thing. Up until now, even the most popular cryptocurrencies suffer from confirmation delays now and then. Those currencies with much faster block times haven’t succeeded in gaining major traction yet. More competition in the crypto world can only be seen as a good thing, as Bitcoin isn’t perfect by any means.

It will be interesting to see how all these Lightning Networks perform. The developments themselves are pretty interesting to keep an eye on. Once we have multiple LN-capable currencies out there, interoperability becomes the next logical step. The future is looking very bright for cryptocurrencies, especially once political shenanigans are put aside."

Where is the DAMN Politeia for the algo in use. You want to CENTRALIZE mining like in bitcoin?

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

uát?  Roll Eyes

Decred's hybrid mining was implemented in a way that centralization isn't possible.
read the docs, please https://docs.decred.org/

Can someone guide me to a tutorial on how to restore a wallet in the Paymetheus Decred Wallet?

Or help me to solve this:
The problem I have is I did some stake mining a while a ago. However all tickets have now voted (via a pool), but I still can only access (send) about 2/3 of what is displayed as my total balance.

Are you using the latest version of paymetheus?
Probably the amount you can't get is one or more voted tickets less than 24 hours.
For security reasons coins can only be used after 256 blocks (~ 20-24 hours) but paymetheus has a bug that shows them as spendable before they really are.
I advise you to install the new decrediton for windows using your paymetheus seed.

I still have one question about the pool staking. I use Decredition and I put the ticket purchase on auto. Does my wallet has to be online to buy new tickets? If not I can stay always offline and let the pool do the rest or am I wrong?

Yes, your wallet needs to be online for auto purchase.
If you close it the process is interrupted but it returns as soon as you put the wallet online again.

Decred supporters, I am thinking of investing in an altcoin but I still do not know what. I have thought about Monero, Ethereum Classic and now Decred. But first let me tell you that what I am looking for is a team of outstanding developers.

Please rate the Decred developers from 1 to 10 if the Bitcoin Core developers = 10 and shitcoin scammers = 1.

There isn't too much difference between the Bitcoin Core developers and the Decred developers technical abilities and coding skills as once they were the same team:

"The main Decred development group started as the Bitcoin developers who develop btcsuite, a widely respected Bitcoin implementation in Go that has been used by several high-profile projects including, but not limited to, BitGo, Factom, Ethereum, and the Lightning Network. Several of Decred's developers have also been contributors to the core of OpenBSD" - From the announcement

If you give 10 to the Bitcoin Core developers, then Decred's developers at least 10 as well, especially now, when we can see the division between Bitcoin Core and Segwit2X. It won't happen with Decred due to the governance system.

Really, a 10? That is hard to believe. Which names in their team have worked on Bitcoin? I believe they were only contributors and they were not part of the team of core developers.

Decred devs have developed btcsuite, which made atomic swaps possible and is the basis of the Lightning Network development, that will be responsible for "saving" bitcoin.

Without LN, bitcoin would become obsolete in a few years.

Hello, has decred already been implemented in the nano ledger wallet?

Not that I am aware of, check the Ledger website for supported tokens first.

The date set to implement Decred in Ledger was 10/16, but they had some difficulties because DCR had a different code from btc and in another language. They are working on it but still without a new date.

Hey guys. I need mobile wallet advice for decred. What do you advice? Or should I download windows wallet and stake?

there is no mobile wallet for DCR yet

at the moment the best move is to accumulate and once you have enough to purchase a ticket , join a stakepool and stake

using a stakepool means you do not need to have a computer online as the stakepool takes care of this

You can use the webwallet on mobile.
It's safe, only the blockchain and graphical interface are online, the keys are stored in your device.
Don't forget to save the seed.

https://wallet.decred.org

thank you you are my man Smiley Do you know how to use a stakepool?

Np!
To mine POS you will need to use the decrediton wallet.
Not possible through webwallet.

Make your registration in a stake pool.
I recommend to https://stake.decredbrasil.com
It has 6 redundant servers in 4 countries around the world (USA, France, Japan and Brazil) that maintains a low latency and makes it impossible for it to fall.

Then just go on tickets in this tutorial https://docs.decred.org/getting-started/user-guides/using-decrediton/

Basically you select in your wallet the pool in which you registered and paste in the field indicated the api that was generated in your registration.

Do I need paymetheus or Decrediton for submitting/claiming tickets or does it matter? I guess I'm going to use some kind of ticket pool...

You can use both.
But now that the version for windows has been released, the official wallet will be Decrediton.
I think paymetheus will not be updated.

Decred will be approached twice on V Brazilian Bitcoin Conference.

In the presentation by João Ferreira aka girino and Gabriel Rhama and also by Edilson Osorio Jr, CEO of www.originalmy.com who uses dcrtime in his company for the registration of documents, patents and contracts in the DCR’s blockchain.

I am trying to setup a POS ticket with a pool and just wanted to confirm that whilst the DCR are in my wallet, the pool cannot access it? I just want to make sure my funds are

safe before setting up a ticket, as I have never done this before. Also is for the backup is the only thing you need the wallet.db file? Or do you need more files?

Cheers mates!

Yes, the pool doesn't have access to your coins, they remain in your wallet during the stake period, you cann't use them until this period is completed. It can take from 24 hours to 142 days, it depends on your luck.
Sometimes it's possible to have several tickets bought and voted with the same coins within a month, making the profit go from ~2.5% to ~5%, 7.5% per month.

For backup you need only the seed or if you prefer the wallet.db file.
With the seed you can recover in different wallets.
With wallet.db only in an equal wallet.
