where can i check for the dev address with the huge premine of 800k decred? is this amount still there? i don't want to get another "vitalik dumping because he deserve it bullshit"

You seem to be another one of those dumbs who speak badly of a 4% premine of the total coins, but don't stop to put millions of dollars on any ICO scam that appears.

You also seems to be one of those who see no problem in the instamine of millions of dash or in the billionaire instamine that Satoshi Nakamoto did on bitcoin before abandoning the coin and ran when the first security problems appeared on btc.

About the 840k premined coins, a lot of was used to pay for the work of third parties from the community, contracted in a clear way when decred wasn't worth much and it took thousands dcr to pay for a designer or other professional, only the left over of it was divided among several devs from company 0.

The main and most difficult feature to be implemented, is already working perfectly, which is hardfork voting, with the decision taken by the community being implemented automatically in blockchain.

The Lightning Network is just being implemented in litecoin and other currencies through bitcoin suite developed by Decred devs.

I'm sure no dev will dump all his coins because they are also needed so they have power in decision-making.

Hundreds of thousands of coins have also been distributed free on the airdrop for thousands of people around the world.

Before spreading fud about a legitimate work, look for your answers here https://docs.decred.org or here https://forum.decred.org

I have downloaded the wallet. What is the difference between "Decred" and "Paymetheus Standalone" app?

How long is the minimum staking duration? Can I cancel the staking any time?

You should click on "Decred".
"Paymetheus Standalone" is for those who already had the wallet without gui installed.

EDIT:

Quote

From 24 hours after the purchase, your ticket can already be voted. About 50% of the tickets are voted within the first 28 days, allowing the purchase of another with the same coins next and thus multiplying the profit within 1 month.

It isn't possible to cancel the stake or sell the ticket. Your coins are blocked until it's voted. It can take from 1 to 142 days. It all depends on luck. About 50% are voted within the first 28 days, 80% within the first 2 months and only 20% take longer.

Elephant= decred (can vote)
People= bitcoin (can not vote and can not make an agreement)

And the people for being more concerned in fight, can not see an elephant on the side, which is the solution to all problems of governance.

What path does Paymetheus store the blockchain at on Windows?

user\appdata\local\dcrd\data\mainnet

Shit...the contents of that folder is quite different than from
Code:
\AppData\Local\Dcrd\data\mainnet

Paymetheus is taking forever to sync. Is there somewhere I can download the blockchain and then paste it over to Paymetheus path?

try to close the wallet, delete data folder and restart.

This will download a new blockchain and synchronize.
If you realize that it's stucked, just restart

Hello everyone,

Today the project would like to announce the launch of dcrtime and the introduction of blockchain-based timestamps to Decred. This is phase 1 of 2 in Decred's rollout of a censorship-resistant proposal system.

For a detailed write-up of dcrtime, please refer to the announcement blog entry. You can find the first dcrtime tx on the DCR mainnet here: https://mainnet.decred.org/tx/9af946f599e09d68b4590ced2e046c3f883411e1f06e199c073efa621af18d93

If you're interested in blockchain-based timestamps like dcrtime, also check out OpenTimestamps. Props to Peter Todd for his great work! Please also join the discussion on a dedicated forum thread if you want to leave persistent remarks or questions about dcrtime.

Sincerely,
Decred Project

Shocked This is very, very amazing!

Now the Decred blockchain can be used to register documents, properties, certificates, inventions, everything!

With each passing day I love this project more and more <3

Why is this thread, so... dead?
You will find more info on our Slack Wink I will try to update people here on the upcoming news as there are multiple Vcash threads here on bitcointalk.

Hey, where can I find the most recent thread? I am following about 20 coins and I need to go to each one and single forum, I'd go crazy Sad

So does anyone have a price prediction as to where DCR could go? It surprised me so far, this coin is a decent one

I believe when the 2017 roadmap is completed, with Lightning Network, smart contracts and anon implemented, Decred can easily reach 0.1 btc or more.
Because there are less than 6 million units in the market, around 40% in the hands of holders and in stake.
With the new ticket value calculation algorithm chosen on this first community vote through blockchain, the ticket price will stabilize and the fees will decrease, the expectation is that this number will increase to 60%.

is this true that decred network has more hashrate than ETH?
How much is inflation ?

The inflation is very similar with bitcoin in first 4 years although the reduction of reward is steadily on decred
You can follow it here: https://dcrstats.com/subsidy

I want to create  new wallet in Paymetheus. After hitting continue when Paymetheus first starts, I get a popup saying "Connection could not be established with 127.0.0.1" Any suggestions?

You must click on "decred" and not on "paymetheus standalone"

Using the cli, is there a way to get my seed for an account I own?

I'd like to start using the Paymetheus wallet. I've always used the CLI wallet so far, so how do I migrate those accounts/wallets to Paymetheus? If I choose the restore option, it asks for a seed. How can I get that seed through the CLI?

Bump!

If you lost your seed when you generated the wallet, it's no longer possible to recover it.

You can move your coins to webwallet, create a paymetheus wallet from scratch, take a photo of the seed and store it in a safe place and then make a transfer of your coins to paym.

You can also copy and paste the wallet.db file from the cli to paymetheus, but it isn't recommended to use a wallet that you no longer own the seed.

Thought I'd drop a link here if anyone is interested in watching the Decred Assembly tonight. Pretty excited because it's going to be Bitcoin dev Jimmy Song and the Decred project's own Bitcoin dev Dave Collins! Figured you guys might want to tune in live at 6 PM EST (10 PM UTC), or catch it later if you're not around. Should be some good BIP 148 UASF and DCR discussion!

I also believe in 0.1 btc at least, when the 2017 roadmap be almost complete.
Decred has only about 5 million coins in the market today, while eth has 100 million.
