But sometimes the price of Cryptsy, is not well received, it is not clear why. Probably it depends on a combination of operating system, DLLs and external conditions.
At least that maybe I understand why ... external reasons. The server that is used for Cryptsy API is: pubapi.cryptsy.com This name resolves to two different IP, 50.7.135.34 and 192.240.97.90. At this time, the 192 responds with a "502 Bad Gateway", while the other works. So if your machine has cached the first ip, your wallet shows the listing, otherwise obviously does not update. Bye Bye

When will masternodes arrive?
My question is perhaps a little more complex: What are masternode, and what tasks they will do? Under the same generic definition of masternodes often are indicated machines that perform very different tasks, so it would be interesting to find out what is the recipe that the DevTeam intends to prepare. Looks like the API for Cryptsy Live Market values is broken in the QT client. At least my version (v3.0.0.0-UT-ZAH) isn't displaying proper amounts. Can anybody else confirm?
"seems" to be working for me. (same wallet) last price is 1 point off but i don't know how often it updates? I do know that if you start the Nav wallet sometimes the crypts one is blank for a few minutes but seems to start a bit later (a few mins). The prices of the markets, an accessory function, are required every minute, as far I recall. But sometimes the price of Cryptsy, is not well received, it is not clear why. Probably it depends on a combination of operating system, DLLs and external conditions. For example at the same time a wallet on XP does not receive, while the exact same binary wallet used on another machine with Win7, in the same subnet shows the listing regularly. And some hours later both work regularly again. However, if you place the mouse over the first column with the name of the exchange, it is shown when was the last update received. PS: I reloaded the zip of the latest version, and I would like to remind beginners that the file navajocoin.conf is only an example, it should not be used as it is. So it would be a useful thing and wise change in the actual file, the values associated with rpcuser and rpcpassword with values difficult to guess. Bye Bye

Here is the new chart, the data covers a month from 2015-08-04. At the moment the average interval of the blocks is about 13 seconds, but varies widely. Some progress on this front? Bye Bye

Perhaps it is too coarse for a precise analysis of cause and effect,
Very small update: The previous graph was unsatisfactory for me, too coarse, and missing data from the last hour. This new has a resolution of one hour, with the values that are calculated on frame of previous 24 hours, and covers data from 1.4M up to block 1,679,912. The observations made in the previous message seem confirmed by the new graphic. Bye Bye

Regarding your idea of a greater number of active users in staking, it is an interesting hypothesis to explore, but before I could answer, I have to analyze an intermediate file of 73 MB, now I do not think I have time. My hope is I can give you some data tomorrow.
As promised here is the new analysis on the number of addresses that generate block, day by day. The method by which it is carried out influences the results obtained, so here's a brief description of how it was conducted, sorry to be a bit boring. The files of 73 MB of which I wrote yesterday, is a list of the blocks produced by block 1.4M up to 1,669,266, the last block of the day 26/07/2015 (UTC time). The blocks of the next day accounted for only a part of the day, and then I have not included here. The file has been sorted for the block date [1], and every day, were counted the blocks (from which to derive the average block interval), and the addresses which have generated at least one block in that day. The extracted data are fairly coarse, their resolution is in fact a whole day, but I hope that makes the idea, consider them only as preliminary data. Perhaps it is too coarse for a precise analysis of cause and effect, if you need a more precise let me know. In this period of time, the number of addresses that have generated blocks is varied between a minimum of 124 and a maximum of 162, also quite a few after all. The number of blocks produced daily was between 3532 and 8298, far too many, considering that should be 2880. The average interval between the blocks is gone from a maximum of 24.5 to 10.4. At first glance, there may be similarities between the tracks, but if we look carefully we can see that the block interval in some cases has been dropped even when the number of users was practically stable, or even decrease. Perhaps it might be more likely an inverse relationship, I mean, when the block time interval and PosDiff fall (see chart from yesterday), then the addresses which typically fail to get into the game, producing a few small block more often. And so shortly after the fall we see the effect of an increase in the number of addresses. In summary, your hypothesis that a greater number of users has resulted in an acceleration of the product cycle of blockchain not seem sufficiently supported by data, but this is just my interpretation of these coarse data, not necessarily the correct one. [1] Small note: In early attempts to process the data, I did not do the sort of lines based on the time of the block, and I got strange results, such as "days" that contain only 4 or 5 blocks, followed by other blocks belonging to the previous day, then some of the next, and again the previous one, and finally a series of consistent data. This odd behavior at the edge of date change, I would have expected for 1-2 blocks, but 4 or 5 jumps one after another seem far too many, abnormal, rather symptomatic. As an example you may try to control the sequence of blocks between 1652846 and 1652867. This oddity is evident during the date change, but I think it also occurs during the rest of the day and days. Bye Bye

Hi Remy,
Thank you for bringing your thoughts and ideas as well insight to NavajoCoin , I m currently investigating this particular scenario and closely watching the Blockchain , I would like to name this effect as "Close to Light of Speed Effect" , with all the names that it has been given with. Rest assured we are monitoring the situation and act accordingly , in the mean time you are most welcome to send us your thoughts and ideas the same.
I believe for a fact that we are having an increased amount of users staking their wallets and as I said earlier , I'm currently monitoring the situation so is the team , I m sure as always we will find the cause and provide a fix if the need be.
I am very pleased to know that you are now investigating the matter. BSPlus and I reported the problem as early as 21 July, as you can see here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=679791.msg11936102#msg11936102And was repeatedly placed under the attention of the DevTeam, in fact on August 9, Strugg wrote that the DevTeam, we would be kept us updated, and we are still waiting. For your convenience, here is another graph of Pos Diff and the interval between the blocks, starting from 2015/07/02 (block 1.4M) until a few hours ago. But I do not think that this is the source of the problem, only its effect. Regarding your idea of a greater number of active users in staking, it is an interesting hypothesis to explore, but before I could answer, I have to analyze an intermediate file of 73 MB, now I do not think I have time. My hope is I can give you some data tomorrow. Bye

The blockchain is approaching the speed of light! It seems to be over double speed lately, like a block every 15 secs. That is probably why staking has increased too
Yes, you are right, but is even worst. If we look at Explorer Block, and we set the block 1666855 as reference, we can see that its Unix time is 1440604876. If we look at the block 1665855, 1000 blocks before the reference above, we can see that the its time is 1440594764. So, the time difference is 10112, divided by 1000 blocks, we have the block average time interval is of 10.112 seconds. One third of what it should be. Concluding, IMHO with this type of speed the NAV can only go in three places, the "24 Hours of Le Mans", to "Indianpolis 500", or to encounter to trouble. Bye Bye

I m a Technical and Development Adviser as an individual and some individuals consult me , with related to development matters and I help them with what I know the best. You might have noticed this many many times in my life as a Developer and in the CryptoWorld. Before working on NAVAJOCOIN , I used to help a lot of 1st generation coins and their communities to get their coins back on track and helped them with their development matters as well as their core developers with my knowledge. So please do not fall for any rumours or related that say otherwise.
Well, I would like to avail myself of your great experience, and kindly ask you a few things: A) What do you think about of this acceleration of the block chain? B) What do you think it could be the cause? C) What steps have been taken by the DevTeam so far? D) You have identified some sort of remedy, direct or indirect, or even temporarily, to be put in place now? I hope you will be so kind as to answer as soon as possible, because never as in this case, "time flies". Bye Bye

I thought the main purpose (at least of bitcoin) was decentralization. This is what set it apart from historical currencies, not efficiency.
[...] Only specialized data centers will run nodes and mining operations. And when that happens, they will realize that they can cooperate and enforce whatever they want.
I did not mention decentralization, because I consider it virtually already lost, since the difficulty to mine block has become so high to require specialized equipment and the use of big pools, and hash farm. For what concerns the "when", if you have time, take a look at: https://blockchain.info/it/pools?timespan=4daysThere you can see that the first 4 BTC pool, control generate 65% of the new blocks, and being the pool who form the blocks, then I think only they can exercise the right to vote. Blacklisting addresses, limits on transactions or holding coins hostage, all simply by controlling what transactions are approved. Before you know it, you have a centralized currency controlled by the elite. Now THAT is a defeat of purpose.
I agree. Of course this kind of concentration of power does not take place only in the POW, but also in the POS and is for this reason that sometimes I remarked how the money supply "active" (the staking address) is concentrated in a few addresses. @HashForce101 on "Fast transaction times" Yes, i too prefer a fast block, but... Even an interval between the blocks too fast involves costs and risks, which are not always obvious. For example, with a time twice the normal, just to make a veiled example purely accidental, also the size of blockchain increases in an exaggerated way with time, as well as the necessary resources to manage them (RAM, HD, cpu use), and these disadvantages remain for always. Another risk that may go unnoticed are the "blocks orphans", which in theory increase significantly with the decrease of the interval between the blocks. (I am still waiting for details on this speedup.) HashForce, I understand that this is not what you want to read, but go look for the defects of others, without looking first to the ones we have, it would be at least unfair. @djselery on "pretty dark picture" “Anything one man can imagine, other men can make real.” ― Jules Verne, Around the World in Eighty Days Bye Bye

If 51% or your quoted 75% make the shift then a new larger Blockchain will be born. Which means faster transaction times and a new era for BTC and a revolution in Altcoin competition as well.
Not faster transactions, still 10m blocks. Just more of them, and a blockchain increasing at a faster rate with more dust transactions. I'd rather see high fees instead because I don't see bitcoin as a currency for day to day transactions. I want it to be a slow but reliable and universally accepted store of value. The gold standard of crypto. I might want to make a few relatively sizable transactions per year and I don't mind if the fees are even 1 or 2 dollars per transaction. Its a small price to pay for the luxury of transferring anywhere in the world and without currency controls. There can always be other altcoins, like navajo to buy coffee with. We don't need bitcoin for that If today you find a place where you can pay a cup of coffee in NavajoCoin, then I'll pay you a coffee. However I understand what Hashforce101 meant, sometimes happened to me to make a small transfer from a pool or an exchange, so without having any control over the fees, and although it was already created the transaction and was visible on the block explorers, there took almost an hour before the transaction was included in a block and later confirmed. In theory a bigger block should decrease this wait time in the queue, and then make the transaction a little more 'fast'. But give me some dismay see that there are blocks, loaded with hundreds of transactions almost touching the limit of the block size, and other blocks instead of transactions have 0 or less than 10. Highly illogical, even considering the flow of transactions that the BTC has. This makes me think that there are "miners" who create blocks without assembling transactions, so without doing their duty. Prior to enlarge the size of the block, I think it might be better to change the rules of reward and pay in full the new blocks generated mainly only when they carry transactions already queued for several minutes. But I doubt that this would please all the miners. Personally I do not think at the time, that a fork "hostile" is the best way to do things, there is the risk of doing more damage (even just of image) than good. I prefer the democratic path. Or alternatively create a new coin, but I realize that the way to create a currency alternative to BTC, which may also correct other structural defects of bitcoins, is very arduous. The forums are full of the corpses of alt-coin that have tried and failed, although in their own way, technically someone had some interesting points. So, AFAIK none of the survivor altcoins so far has managed to be more popular of the BTC. Finally, I agree with the fact that the BTC is considered somewhat as the correspondent of gold, and could become even more money for the elite, but a fee increase, IMHO could eventually backfire cascading also on all minor currencies. But, being a coin for the elite and with high fees, are not themselves a defeat of the "reason of being" of the cryptcoin in general? Bye Bye

It would be awesome to read what Remy_5 , Soppy or Pakage's expert opinions on this and every Crypto forum should allocate some pages to this important historical time in Crypto Currencys and it's evolution.
I pondered the question, I read a couple of sites and consulted some blockchain explorer to extract data, and I finally came to a conviction: I am not an expert. Bye Bye

AxiomCrypto: have you heard any more from the lead developer? Has he got over the lumps on his neck? POS 3.0 is a very good concept. Does he need a bounty to get back into it? We're trying to add the last two updates and the exchange to the OP but theres a problem with the btctalk database (returns an error), we are waiting on the fix soon. Hi! The POS 3.0 has been described in detail? Just curious, someone would be so kind as to provide a link?

Richlist is up to date again.
I am sorry for the delay, but I had to make some changes in building this list ...
Hurrah! Bravo! Glad to see someone from the DevTeam alive. For my part, I did a quick test, and the data in the list match. Of course it is a blockchain alive and staking, so there are inevitably differences, but in 98% of cases are less than 0.02%. The only two cases above, have a difference of less than 2.5%, probably a couple of transfers, made between the time when Shahim generated the official list, and when I updated my list just a little while ago. Two small considerations, individual addresses that are millionaires, as you can see are only the first 10, and hold 47% of all the money. Half of them do not produce stake, so presumably they are cold wallet or exchange's wallet, these five addresses hold 24.67% of all the money. Last thing, in the last update of the list I had made, I have not transcribed the rate of generation of the blocks: topStaker From block 1579028 (2015-08-11 10:50:40 UTC) to block 1617168 (2015-08-18 10:50:19 UTC) topStaker Found 195 Address 8 Consecutive Blk Counted 38141 Blk Last 24H 5107 topStaker Total: 48122.082693 Coin 2.526931 Max 1.261689 Average AVGTime 15.86
So in the last week the average time between the blocks was 15.86, the average time considering only the last 24H was 16.92 seconds. It should be 30 seconds. Bye Bye

i didn`t see any evidence of Taipei event so far....
You have not seen the evidence? Really ? :-O You have not been careful enough. The speech Pakege had much resonance and clear effect worldwide. Read what happened, just few hours after the speech: http://www.usnews.com/news/business/articles/2015/07/27/shanghai-share-index-dives-more-than-8-percentBy YOUKYUNG LEE, AP Business Writer
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — The Shanghai share index fell the most since early 2007 on Monday as Chinese stocks suffered a renewed sell-off despite government efforts to calm the market.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed down 8.5 percent at 3,725.56 with most of the plunge occurring in the last hour of trading. Other stock benchmarks around the world were dragged down, too.
Now you see the the evidence? Craig do not take it wrong, excuse my joke. I know is not your fault, but the coincidence was too funny. However, I saw the slide, and there are some things that I did not understand well, I do not know if they were related to other cryptocoin, or were future plans for NavacoCoin. I hope that soon you can explain them better to us. Bye Bye

Considering this, I would like a clear answer, there is someone of the DevTeam is watching on this? Bye Bye
Yes, we're looking into this! We'll keep You updated /b]
Very well, thank you, I will wait anxiously for details. Last thing for Strugg, the link to block explorer in the OP is wrong, it shows http://navajocoin.org/block-explorerck-explorer, when it should be http://navajocoin.org/block-explorerI think it would be useful to correct this mistake in the OP. With regard to the data of the rich-list that I had previously provided, now the official block explorer exceeded the reference block, and it corresponds, so, far as my data is still unofficial, I now believe that it can be regarded as real. Bye Bye

My wallet, when it created the list was updated to block 1563745, hash 4862ab7af94490c8f611ea673fe366e6995eeabb75c46d51d95de1f856ced8b5 You can check if it's the same in your wallet, giving the following command in the window help \ debug \ console: getblockhash 1563745 Unfortunately the richlist of Shahim, does not show up in that block is updated, although I asked for from the beginning. Neither the block explorer gets up to that block, ATM seems to have stopped two days ago, so we do not know if the data wrote before are updated and correct. What I want to point out, again, it is that the blocks follow each other too quickly. During the last week, the average time was 17.2 seconds, instead of 30 from specifications. topStaker From block 1529283 (2015-08-01 13:15:16 UTC) to block 1563843 (2015-08-08 10:09:57 UTC) topStaker Found 209 Address 7 Consecutive Blk Counted 34561 Blk Last 24H 5605 topStaker Total: 43528.672849 Coin 2.526937 Max 1.259473 Average AVGTime 17.18
In the last 24 hours there were 5,605 block, and an average time of 15.4, and the average interval for the last 100 blocks shows a value less than 14 seconds. Even the previous weeks showed similar figures. Considering this, I would like a clear answer, there is someone of the DevTeam is watching on this? Bye Bye

Things got a bit confusing to me in this thread so I'm asking. I have wallet v2.0.0.2, which shows me on block 116071 as of today. Here's the question...is this info correct?
Thanks for the reply
If in the wallet in Help\Debug window, you write the command: getblockhash 116078 and you get this result: f8b06880c8a35972349ec85be00f4674e322d045b4b70c700bf48a0a84b757ff You're certainly in the right side of the fork. And you can double check this on: http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/XRA/block.php?height=116078Bye Bye
