'One of the day’s more passionate speakers, Coinsetter CEO Jaron Lukasiewicz portrayed a confidence and focus onstage while seeking to debunk the common industry mantra that bitcoin can compete against credit cards today.

“Credit cards pay people at 1.5%. Bitcoin costs the consumer 1.5%,” Lukasiewicz said. “That's the competition, and as an industry we need to be looking at where bitcoin competes.”'

1473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it possible that 1 BTC be worth $2,000 by the end of 2015? on: January 17, 2015, 08:37:06 PM
...2014 is behind us and that 2015 can be the official year of the bitcoin moving forward.

Price ~35% down already, and 2015 isn't even a month old.  Starting "The Year of Bitcoin" off with a bang Smiley
1474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 17, 2015, 08:31:35 PM
...Since the weak hands won't be there to dump into a rally, it will be stronger and more sustained. This is why large reversals follow large crashes, and vice versa.

So...  The worse things look, the better they actually are?  I think I'm starting to understand.
1475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye to sub-$200 cheap coins on: January 17, 2015, 08:03:47 PM
The price is steady, just below $200 right now.  $199.58 on Bitstamp. Volume is low. There are no walls. It's very quiet. Maybe some big traders took the weekend off.

People got bored and moved on.
1476  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 17, 2015, 08:00:07 PM
Bulls can't even keep the price above 200.
Weak.

You mean

bears can't even push the price below 200  Huh

Don't want you tasty cattle to get spooked and run away, we bears have cubs to feed...

The most profitable bitcoins I ever mined, were the ones I mined when it was unprofitable to do so.

You'da been richer if you bought coin back then, instead of mining it.  And didn't "reinvest" the profits into [now worthless] gear.
Oh wait, it was "the fans" who paid for the worthless gear...
Nvrmnd, carry on.
1480  Economy / Speculation / Re: idiots dumping the price on: January 17, 2015, 05:49:19 PM
if the banks wanted to they could crash bitcoin to 0 in 1 second they have the control its the fiat thats backed by taxes, labourers and government I see the light and my addiction is finally over...

i've been brainwashed by alex jones, andreas antnooctupos and others its time to gain self control

and the banks would crash bitcoin how exactly?
they would need to make me rich first by buying bitcoins to the moon to get any reasonable stake at this game.

No, they would not need to make you rich.  Other than the obvious (illegalizing it & watching the price tank), think of all the nearly bankrupt megamines  that could be bought for a nominal fee, to fork Bitcoin into irrelevancy Smiley
