141  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet is save for my coin on: April 21, 2021, 10:50:56 AM
I am new to Cryptocurrency and I hear of people complaining heavily about how the loose their coin to scammers. I get scared of investing most of the times. On different count I get advice from friends to try invest in Cryptocurrency. I have gone on line to source for answer but I get confused.

I have plans of investing $400 in Crypto now my challenge is which coin should I start with, considering different coin scattered across different exchanges. I no of Bitcoin and Etherium but where to buy from and how to start is my challenge.

If I succeed in buying where do I store the coin, which of the wallet will be safer for me. I am scared of loosing this because this is my last fortune. As a girl child I want to be self reliant and independent. Some one introduced me to bitcointalk where I can ask questions and get direction on how to start up a business by buying Cryptocurrency and living it for a longer period of time by so doing I will accumulate wealth on a long-term base.

I still don't understand how this coin appreciate and how I can make profit by just keeping a coin without doing anything with it. Because I am still naive and need clarity on this. I wouldn't like to loose all I have got out of carelessness. Sorry if am too curious i'm  only trying to apply caution so I don't regret. I know this system has made so many rich thats why I decided to drop this here
Electrum. But make sure to download it from their official web page. https://electrum.org/

It's one of the oldest open-source wallets out there and a lot of reputable programmists contributed to its development. And I never heard that someone's electrum wallet was hacked.
142  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who’s more powerful? The players, Fans or Clubs on: April 21, 2021, 10:38:16 AM
The fans. Professional football is more entertainment than sport. In lower leagues or college football might be considered a sport. But professional football exists to entertain its fans. Numerous matches, events were canceled during the pandemic simply because their fans were not able to come to watch.
143  Other / Meta / Re: Please share ideas how to earn merits. on: April 20, 2021, 12:00:52 PM
Don't focus too much in ranking up, OP.
If you know you're helping/contributing to other users in here, merits will come along BUT that doesn't mean that you should expect one every time you do contribute. Wink

145  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using multiple betting accounts (Bet365 etc.) on: April 17, 2021, 09:47:55 PM
I mean, he gives money to some villagers who give all their details including their bank account ones (and even hand over their Bank stuff to that guy who then handles everything himself) and that guy pays a good amount of money to that villager for doing that.
I though we were talking about gaming, intainment. Buying a villagers personal details? Lol why would someone go that far, does your friend do that for the same purpose as the OP?
146  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ Coinmama ] is this a legitimate exchange where I can entrust my credit card? on: April 17, 2021, 11:19:50 AM
And while I'm at it, I also want to know the best way to see whether a website like that is legitimate or not.
To check a website's legitimacy I usually look for the website's overall authority: if it's an old website, do they have a big network of interlinks across the internet, how big is their monthly traffic. Then goes Reddit discussions, people on Reddit feedback on things as it is (most of the time at least). Don't forget to take a quick look at Trustpilot reviews. Also, sometimes the design of a website speaks for itself.
147  Other / Meta / Re: Get Notified when quoted - on forum feature on: April 17, 2021, 09:35:54 AM
Implementing additional features directly on the forum means there is the potential for additional security risks.
Can't you afford high-end software security engineers when you hold hundreds of bitcoins :/

Yes, but it's more likely such feature will be implemented on epoch talk (the new forum). For now, i use LoyceV's notification feature, [WORKING] LoyceV's alternative for Piggy's @mention notification bot.
Hopefully, Epoch talk will have it. I will go for LoyceV's creation in this case. Thanks for the feedbacks and suggestions ya'll.
148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the biggest issue for beginners ? on: April 16, 2021, 10:27:35 PM
The biggest issue every beginner might face is taking crypto as a way of earning a quick buck. Looking for bounties, day trading, FOMO, etc. Crypto is here for a long now. Sit back and learn around before taking actions.
149  Other / Meta / Re: Get Notified when quoted - on forum feature on: April 16, 2021, 10:20:30 PM
Btw there's a message alert when you receive a pm, just check the "show pop up when you receive new messages"
Yes, there is. I meant that the notification alerts would also come to the same page.

There used to be a bot
Yeah, but who needs a bot when you can implement it onto the forum. Looks like there is a reason why the forum can't have it.

The suggested feature would definitely make me forget or skip important PMs thinking they are just notifications  Cheesy
This one makes sense Cheesy But anyways better than missing it.
150  Other / Meta / Get Notified when quoted - on forum feature on: April 16, 2021, 09:07:32 PM
Yea there are a bunch of telegram bots for this but why forum itself cannot have this feature? please provide me with a link to the thread if this was discussed before

1) You receive a notification into your messages page first

2) "Alerts" section on my messages page

3) And something like this

Wouldn't that be helpful?
151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to lose your Bitcoins with CTRL-C CTRL-V on: April 16, 2021, 08:27:39 PM
Use QR addresses. No risk at all and no need to reset your operating system.
152  Economy / Goods / Re: FOR SALE: Original Satoshi Times 03/01/2009 on: April 16, 2021, 08:21:49 PM
What a relic. 10 BTC might sound ridiculous, but that piece of paper is priceless. For someone, it is not worth $100, while someone is ready to give millions for it. Reminds me of the case with the overly attached girlfriend meme.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wyoming legalized online sports betting - crypto wagers allowed too on: April 16, 2021, 08:08:18 PM
As others said, that is good news for crypto users, especially for gamblers who often use crypto to gamble. I guess the government wants to know who was using crypto to gamble and make a new regulation related to that news. Maybe the government wants to control online sports betting from their State. I think a gambler needs to do KYC on the online sports betting website and I think their bank account will be monitor by the government. I wonder how much the taxes that the gambler should pay regard to that news.

They just want to benefit on the popularity of crypto, as they legalize sports betting, they know that huge money will come from crypto space, so with that, they regulate and they make money at the same time. They cant' control anything that is not owned by the state, but they can always monitor them to comply with the law, especially on correct tax remittance.
The tax rate is the same as in most other states where sports betting is legalized. 10% on gross revenue. While searching this info I came over a table of tax rates in all states. In Delaware, if you open an online sports betting company, 50% (entire HALF) of your gross revenue will go to taxes and later will be played out as the state lottery. That's what we call monopoly.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you limit your gambling time? on: April 16, 2021, 07:52:28 PM
Some players also believe in systems that are doomed to fail. Like playing strategies that they believe can only win in the end. If such a strategy existed, everybody would be winning all the time, but it can even happen in roulette that "red" comes up 15 times in a row. That's when irrationality comes into play and leads to severe losses.
Lol. I feel sorry for such people but that is the truth. They pay for such strategies  Cheesy (I personally used to do) why on earth somebody would sell a "strategy" that can outplay an algorithm and make you millions for some hundreds. And that "doubling your bet until you win" strategy is also bullshit.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best Sport to bet on ? on: April 16, 2021, 07:43:48 PM
I am just kind of curious if anyone has done any research of has any opinions on which sport they think is the best sport to gamble.  I guess I'm looking for both opinions and hard data.
I mostly bet on NBA, MLB and even NFL but recently I have stopped betting on NBA because the sport doesn't entertain me at all and some weird things have happened recently like you may see how Doncic scored a 3-pointer so things like that happen where a team leads for 3 quarters but suddenly a comeback will happen in the 4th. I rather prefer betting on NFL which is so much more fun to watch and bet.

There I bet a lot on e-sports like Dota2 and LoL matches but only higher level of leagues and in-play after watching the drafts and picks from both teams. Also, I bet on CSGO at times.

The best one for me has to be NFL in terms of profit but the one I enjoy the most watching is actually Dota2 because of how games can turn in a single team fight.
The same here. I tried to bet on every sport. Sit on tennis for quite a bit of time. Later found that basketball is more stable like there are strong teams and weak teams and they perform the same in the court: strong and weak. Not like you win the first 4 sets at 40:0 and then end up losing the tiebreak at 4-6.
156  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [QUESTION] Simple & Convenient Payments? on: April 16, 2021, 07:32:44 PM
I have a website that sells digital products, I used coinpayments for almost a year. It sometimes had glitches, did not let transactions go through for no reason. In December last year I installed, Coinbase Commerse. So far, it works just fine
157  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I need 5 sources of revenue to generate $200 each per month - Ideas? on: April 16, 2021, 07:26:30 PM
Affiliate blogs in 5 different niches. Create lightweight sites, hire copywriters and an SEO guy. 6-7 months passes, you are good to go. Thank me later. The affiliate industry never dies. As long as people sell/buy there always will be a middleman.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to store Ethereum safe? on: April 16, 2021, 07:03:07 PM
+1 for MEW. Most ancient, original, and easy-to-use one. People behind actively work and release updates.
159  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting a user who just merited you on: April 16, 2021, 11:17:46 AM
I personally don't see anything really bad in meriting someone who merited you. A user earned his merit and is free to use it in any way he wants. This would not cause anything bad. The 2 sMerit=1Merit system is designed this way taking into account this case. You cannot abuse the system = you get merited in return for yours, but now you have to work your ass to earn the second sMerit to be able to merit back.

P.S. I never did merit someone just because he merited me and totally against this action.
160  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔮 Futuur - Predict the Future! 🔮 on: April 16, 2021, 10:15:41 AM
Is Futuur somehow connected with DraftKings?

Why the website name in your privacy policy page is redirecting to the homepage of another betting company?
