161  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BC.GAME - CASINO AND SPORTSBOOK | $1,000 GIVEAWAY LIVE! 🔥🔥🔥 on: January 04, 2024, 11:45:39 AM
There is a clear trend that more and more traditional crypto companies are also becoming prominent advertising partners in traditional sports. Sportsbet.io, for example, is still an official partner of Arsenal London. BC.Game's deal with the AFA (Argentine Football Association) is certainly just as interesting: BC.GAME is now the Crypto Casino Sponsor of the Argentine Football Association
Now does not mean just today, a week ago, but it is some months ago. I think if you edit the url title to time of that announcement rather than Now, it will express better information. Readers will not confuse that BC.Game only get the partnership recently. It is already four months ago.

Quote
In general, such deals not only ensure that classic crypto companies become known to people who previously had little or no connection to crypto, but also that crypto companies are generally better accepted and move out of the light of "dubious companies".
It is a good signal and can help a business to build up its reputation but if you are carefully, you must check more. A lesson from FTX and Terra are still hot enough to recall and learn from those fiascos. I see BC.Game are doing good and hope that they will expand their business more and in healthy, sustainable ways.
162  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is just happened on the Bitcoin Market? on: January 03, 2024, 01:53:16 PM
A convenient time for another purchase begins; those who have been waiting should take advantage of it. And yes, there is no such thing as Bitcoin going up forever; we've seen it many times, so a decline is likely. But why does everyone trust Greeks and Matrixport? When did they manage to turn into clairvoyants - analysts?
We can not trust them and previous rumor that Bitcoin Spot ETFs will be approved this year, in just few more days. All are rumors to make the market participants become greed and fearful.

Time flies so fast and time will help us to know the fact and decision of SEC. At the moment, we can not verify and be sure about anything regards to Bitcoin Spot ETFs.

The only thing we are sure is Bitcoin halving will happen in Q2 2024. Make our investment plan with halving is better and simply think that Bitcoin Spot ETF is something to happen or not this year. But don't think it is a biggest contributor for Bitcoin bull run in 2024 and 2025.
163  Other / Meta / Re: New Year = New Password (...and new you, too!) on: December 31, 2023, 10:27:23 AM
It is scary the way some people take the security of this forum as if it is their bank account or crypto wallet, and I must say that I have never witnessed such before in any of the many forums I had participated in about 2 decades.
It is for forum account security, not forum security if I understand to context correctly.

Quote
The frequent change of password might be good but I believe is on what has to do with money or vital information per se, not even when we are already blessed with 2FA as an additional security measure.

For this, I don't see myself changing this soon but rely on the 2FA in 2024.
If you consider your account here is important, you will have to secure it strongly enough.

Because you can use your account for working, getting BTC here.
Your account, if compromised, will be possibly sold, used to scam other forum members.

Nothing is bad if a forum member is serious about an account security.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and the Masses on: December 31, 2023, 10:20:05 AM
How can we bridge the gap between mainstream adoption and the complexities of blockchain technology?
Except the elderly who are basically always find difficult to learn new things, adapt to new technologies. Other people in society can easily learn about blockchain and they even only need to learn basics to use blockchain.

They don't need to learn advanced knowledge because to use a blockchain for fund storage and transfer, it's easy and only need basics.

Share your thoughts on making crypto more accessible to the general public
Stop creating useless and scam cryptocurrencies and scam projects, the mass will have more friendly view on this industry and we will successfully to attract more people to it.

I and you don't like scam, don't want to lose money so if we see this space is very scam, we will not join it.

Someone has recovered 1.3 BTC of my funds after my crypto account in Hong Kong was hacked a few years ago
Is it your account on an centralized exchange?
Is it only your account hack or that exchange hack in general?

Quote
and said it was sent to my ELECTRUM wallet using the BTC address I gave him for the Electrum Request.
First you must know, Bitcoin transaction is irreversible so no one can recover bitcoin for you if it was already sent to a hacker wallet.

Second, you have to check a transaction hash to see it was actually sent to your wallet address and was it confirmed by Bitcoin miner. I believe it is a scam but the advise is for you to check Bitcoin transaction generally and help you to avoid scam in future.

Irreversible transactions

BNB is a centralized shitcoin made up by a rich guy. A centralized database can't be compared to a decentralized blockchain.
Binance Smart Chain is a centralized blockchain and their team can halt it anytime.

Binance Smart Chain Halted Over 'Potential Exploit,' $100 Million Taken Off Chain. This is one of their BSC halts, not the only halt so far.

1. Why is BTC fee high?
Network, mempool capacity to handle pending transactions are limited and demand recently surges a lot, with biggest spam contributions from Ordinals.

167  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: December 30, 2023, 07:11:21 AM
Diversifying your portfolio is not a bad option, but only if people actually choose to diversify by investing in other markets, as trying to achieve any level of diversification by investing in altcoins when you already invested in bitcoin is a fruitless activity, since with the exception of stable coins, every single altcoin out there shows very similar movements than the ones we can see bitcoin making and no protection can be achieved by investing in those coins.
Each market has its own rules and cycles and diversify your capital to different markets, new market you don't understand is bad capital management. Usually, it takes you time to learn and experience in a new market, to understand its core principles and before you can master it, you will have risk of losing money.

Altcoins can bring you big profit in short term if you luckily pick an altcoin that has a pump game. The point is risk, altcoins are more risky than Bitcoin and many altcoins were created and died. Developers can continue their creation of new altcoins but Bitcoin is only one, unique and its network is strongest. If you look for bit profit with altcoins, forget Bitcoin, you will learn lesson soon.

Bitcoin is safest and it can help you to get profit with time, solid and sustainable. With altcoins, profit can come quickly and your capital can vanish quickly with altcoins in bear market.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another year is going to end. Bitcoin isn't dead on: December 30, 2023, 06:57:51 AM
And Christ, I remember all of these proclamations from way back when I registered, so they mean absolutely nothing to me now (if they ever did).  That just goes to show you people are really bad at predicting the future, especially when it comes to markets.
We can not predict the market correctly and we are usually bad with our predictions. If we rely on our predictions or even predictions from experts and bet with money, we will lose money with wrong predictions.

After 14 years, Bitcoin now is no longer a baby cryptocurrency and blockchain is no longer a newborn technology. I agree that we can not predict the market precisely but I believe that we can say Bitcoin will less likely die. After 14 years, Bitcoin is stronger now and if it was not dead in 2009, 2010 or 2011 or after the Mt.Gox hack, I see it will not die in future.

The bullish case for Bitcoin.

Coinbase noncustodial wallet? Be it custodial or noncustodial, Coinbase is one of the wallet I can not recommend for bitcoin users. It is close source, not having replace-by-fee or child-pay-for-parent feature. Recommending online seed phrase backup, not having multisig. Can you connect it to hardware wallet? I do not think so.
Close source, custodial according to Wallet scrutiny.

As part of our Methodology, we ask: Is the product self-custodial?

The answer is "no". Therefore we marked it as "Custodial: The provider holds the keys".
The provider, Coinbase, holds the keys and we know "Not your keys, not your bitcoins".

We can use Coinbase with small money to purchase some products from Merchants websites that accept payment from Coinbase. We should never use Coinbase wallets to store all of our cryptocurrencies.
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 29, 2023, 02:03:15 AM
I'm guessing this is one of the funnier Premier League of the last decade.

Debacle for Arsenal and Spurs, I think Guardiola will win again in the end.
Spurs no longer belong to list of competitors for Premier League title. They will have to fight for only a spot in top four of the league, not for the league title.

Arsenal with their inconsistency and instability will have to struggle to maintain their position in trio race with Liverpool and Manchester City. I always think that Liverpool are stronger than Arsenal, more experienced and still are the strongest challenger against Manchester City in this season.

Again, Pep and Manchester City will win it, I don't know because Liverpool and Klopp are strong, experienced and know how to win Premier League again.

What I have said previously in this thread seems to be true that there is no team show their consistency this season. Who predicted that Arsenal and Spurs will lose with 2 goals difference?
Very few people thought of those shocked results and many gamblers lost their money with these clubs and their bets on bigger teams.

Win small or win big, it is not big different because goal difference will only be used to compare two clubs on the ranking table if they have same total points. If one club have less points than another competitor, goal difference is better or worse will make no sense.
171  Economy / Gambling / Re: 👑 CoinRoyale.com - Original Bitcoin Casino | Trusted Since 2013 ✔️ on: December 28, 2023, 10:42:07 AM
There are 11 players at the leaderboard currently and only 4 of them who are qualified for the prize. 1 player wagered 0.08+ btc but he made 66 bets only till now, so he needs to make 34 more bets if he want to qualify. I'm currently in the 3rd position but the 2nd position is still not qualified both from the minimum wager and minimum number of bets.

1 and a half hour remaining for the 1st round, it is still enough time for you if you are going to take one of the top 5 position.
I am not. I made the screenshot and shared it because want to help CoinRoyale guests or users know about this contest.

You are right about chance to step in top four and get the shared prize. I saw it and used that post to inform any gambler want to join because of good chance to enter top four if they kick off.

Quote
Are you one of those 11 players or you are not participating?
Honestly to say, I am not on the leaderboard.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reports emerge suggesting Mt. Gox creditors are receiving repayments on: December 28, 2023, 10:36:20 AM
Of course they must, and I am definitely not suggesting that people should be frivolous with their cryptocurrency by using exchanges that show red flags, with the idea that they will be recovered. This is definitely not the case. Not your keys, Not your coins is something everyone should still have in their minds when transacting, trading and storing any cryptocurrency.
I agree with you about risk of centralized exchanges if people store their cryptocurrencies on those platforms.

They must read and watch these ones
Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts
Bitcoin Q&A: Not your Keys, Not your Coins

Quote
The reality is that most exchanges are gone and will never come back, however it is curiosity that leads to think that if Mt. Gox can lead to the recovery of such a large portion of lost funds, maybe the recovery of others will follow suit. Mt. Gox is a very strong precedent that might enable a backlog of investigations and recoveries at the end of the day...It's entirely possible at any point following the success of the Mt. Gox recovery (possible doesn't mean that it will happen though, it just means that the precedent could enable this).
Exchanges are dead for years and can have money to pay their past customers are very rare. Honestly, if I am a victim of Mt.Gox and receive compensation from them this way, I would feel very sadly and disappointed, first about myself to make mistake by storing bitcoin on Mt.Gox. Second, it will like another unnecessary scratch on my wound which I forgot for years.

$200 or $1000 is big money but if receiving it causes me to regret that if I had not made that mistake, I would be a billionaire now, it is very painful.

Those incidents are probably the main reason why even someone that may not be a soccer fan may remember Luis Suarez, with the most famous incident being the one at the 2014 World Cup in which he bit an Italian player and he was suspended for months.

I remember that at the time I thought the punishment was too light, as this was not really the first instance in which he has done this and not only he made a joke out of himself, it also stained the image of soccer and the world cup.
It is more easily to remember bad things people did than good things they have done. It is more funny to see drama with many people and those drama is more memorable.

Luiz Suarez is a super star player, I can say he is not a star player but one of super star players last twenty years. He has massive career with many fantastic goals and many big titles but people remember more about his drama than his goals. He did some mistakes but moved on from these and actually improved himself.

We should forget about his past mistakes with poor reactions against opponent defenders, it is not right behavior but it happened and he improved. Now, he is at very last years of his career and we must use very little chances left to enjoy his football.
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reports emerge suggesting Mt. Gox creditors are receiving repayments on: December 28, 2023, 01:25:00 AM
You are right, there have only been a few isolated cases (FTX, Mtgox) where money has been retrieved. Maybe, this will change in the future and more exchanges that have defunct in the past will be forced to re-accumulate and repay victims, though this is a hopeful idea.

Report on crypto exchange hacks

People must assume they will lose their cryptocurrencies anytime if they store cryptocurrencies in accounts on centralized exchanges. Because those exchanges can scam, exit and run with user money, can be seized by governments, can be hacked and go to insolvent, bankruptcy.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reports emerge suggesting Mt. Gox creditors are receiving repayments on: December 27, 2023, 01:08:53 PM
On top of this case, people who received money back are luckily enough even they will feel disappointed with money they get.

Don't think that you will be luckily like those victims of Mt.Gox and will receive money back like them if you store your bitcoin, cryptocurrency on a centralized exchange that goes bankrupted. Chance to get money, even part of your money, back is very small.

Those victims can feel disappointed now but they have to know that if Mt.Gox had not been hacked, they even would have sold their bitcoins many years ago with very cheap price, even lower than a price used for compensation.

177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you sell your bitcoin to blackrock? on: December 27, 2023, 02:48:46 AM
The question is wrong.

The market has buyers and sellers and if I am a seller, I don't mind who are buyers will buy bitcoin from me. I set up a sell order with Limit order type and wait the market, buy orders, buyers to fill it for me. When my sale is done, it's done and I get stable coin or cash, I don't mind about buyers.

Black Rock, Grayscale or MicroStrategy, I don't mind about them or any big institutional investor from https://bitcointreasuries.net/
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another year is going to end. Bitcoin isn't dead on: December 27, 2023, 02:30:28 AM
Many hasn't gotten that time to read the Bitcoin whitepaper before making such judgement about Bitcoin going down. In as much as some who doesn't see Bitcoin going far doesn't mean it will fall instead it will bring something that would rather change their negative mindset or convince them totally that Bitcoin is here to stay for good.
I believe the more haters we have the more longer it will excel with many more years to be counted.
They don't need to read all the Bitcoin White Paper or understand all technical things in Bitcoin protocol. It's for programmers who can understand code but as investors, people must read to learn basics of Bitcoin.

Learning basics will help them to see potential of Bitcoin blockchain for privacy, anonymity and decentralized network, censorship resistant.

They will understand about Bitcoin total supply and its scheduled future supply until 2140.

Those basic knowledge is enough for them to build up their belief in Bitcoin and start to become a diamond hand Bitcoin investor.

179  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: December 26, 2023, 02:34:12 PM
At St. James' Park will have a cheerful match between Newcastle United vs Nottingham Forest [Kick-off 12:30 PM].
This will definitely be a very pleasant match.
Newcastle United scored first but at an extra minute of a first half, Nottingham got an equalizer. They started a second half like how they started a first half but at their home stadium, they let Nottingham made a bigger shock in the second half.

They got two conceded goals and lost the match as 1 - 3 against Nottingham. It is not a good day for Newcastle United and it is not a pleasant match for them. With this defeat, they will get bigger differences under top four and the season begins to be worse for them. Out of Champions League and struggle in Premier League to get a top four position.
Match stats show Newcastle United domination but it means nothing for them.
180  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are some altcoins with low transaction fees that I can use to buy stuff? on: December 26, 2023, 11:36:32 AM
It all depends on the network you're using first, if you're making use of ethereum network, most of their transaction fees are very high even than bitcoin, but you can make use of the Binance Smart Chain Netwo which is almost cheaper for every transactions, there are some altcoins you can also uses which their transaction fee are very low, some gave their own network while some have it on BSC, some examples are litecoin, USDT which is a stable coin and so many altcoins I may not wanted to keep mentioning here.
Off chain is one of solutions like Bitcoin Lightning Network.

On chains with altcoin blockchains are other choices but I would like to use altcoin blockchains that are Proof of Work than blockchains with Proof of Stake, Masternodes, Smart contracts because they are more sensitive and more vulnerable to hacks and attacks.

With Proof of Work blockchains, there are more works to do for a successful network attacks and attack cost is bigger.
