Bitcoin Vanga sees $9588 as the top for this rally.
Where do you get that from? Because I think we saw that he revised that upwards. What's the new number?

I can understand BTC envy due to the ongoing ramp, but lately my most massive gains have been on B2X, which doubled between midnight and 6AM this morning, and BCH, which is less exhuberant but more liquid.
And yes, Johnny Mnemonic is quite right that one should, as a rule, rebalance away from the leading asset, into the lagging one, ceteris paribus.
What futures market are you using? Bitfinex is probably the premier and most liquid. Bitfinex closed my account, because I'm in the U.S. I thought aminorex was in the U.S., too. Maybe he found another futures market. What others are there besides Bitfinex? And why did you answer the question I asked aminorex?

Hello all! I use Monero for my business! For privacy reasons, it should be better to have the integrated address totally different for each time I generate a new one. Not only the end of the address changing. Do you guys know if there is some development plan to do that in the future? Anyone want hire my services, just send a pm Yes, devs are working on something called subaddresses. I'm not sure really how it works and I don't have a link offhand, you can look around the various monero sites or maybe someone on this thread will chime in.

Remember Hanlon's razor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon%27s_razorHanlon's razor is an aphorism expressed in various ways including "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" or "Don't assume bad intentions over neglect and misunderstanding."This is how I see Kraken. Lousy trading engine explains the faulty trading excecution.
|
|
|
Kraken, your trading engine is next to useless. I submit a market order. Kraken says it "may have" failed. The oders page shows no orders pending. So I submit the order again, it "fails" again. I submit a third time, and it executes. But in the meantime, the first order, the one that supposedly failed, and which DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE ORDERS PAGE, HAS NOW EXECUTED too! If you're going to tell me that an order failed, or "may have" failed, and it does not show up on the pending orders page, then CANCEL THE FUCKING order.

I'd have though wallet devs would be all over Segwit like flies on s4!+. Shows how much I know.

И если все так и будет, это будет очень веселая медвежья ловушка и биткоин ломанется на новые хаи.
And if it does, it will be a very funny bear trap and bitcoin breaks into new hai.
"Хаи" (singular "хай") is a direct loanword from English, from "high". It's a jargonism, hence Google Translate fails to translate it. Just for your information I figured that out already. I learned how to sound out Cyrillic when I was in Ukraine. What we need is some people who can translate the really gnarly stuff. How's your Russian?

Google Translate: So, we have 4560. As I wrote in the commentary on the previous post, this gives me 70% certainty that we will not go to the new lower classes (<2900). At the same time, a beautiful bearish wedge emerges, which Bitcoin (as usual) is likely to burst, oddly enough, up =) And if it does, it will be a very funny bear trap and bitcoin breaks into new hai. https://vk.com/bitcoin_vanga

For sure rare 3 months ago predicted Monero at $100 at end of September. Most thought HW wallet, mobile wallet and multisig will be the triggers.
Awesome call, that was. Lately I am more focussed on the (easier, on assumptions) longer-term estimation task: Monero has consistently repriced higher with each positive development, and the number and scope of bullish developments in the pipe is increasing, not decreasing, as the price, hash and community all rise in tandem. It's the foothills of the exponential phase of adoption here. After, comes the super-exponential expansion phase, as n log n network effect kicks in, composed with a FOMO function. Eventually, the market saturates at a given development level, FOMO dies, and price pulls back, but until XMR denominates at least 10% of the 22 trillion USD dark global GDP and at least 1% of the 80 trillion light GDP (for PQ = 3 tUSD) the cycle keeps repeating in a larger S-curve on a scale of ca. 10 years. If the velocity is an historically typical 5, the market cap of XMR should top out in the neighborhood of 600 bn USD, and 1 XMR should be worth about 30k USD2012. (The reason why BTC is over 4k now is not the size of the BTC economy, but the outsized reserve demand, which implies a much lower velocity of money.) In the longer run (multiple decades) XMR value should grow with the global economy, so holding it will be like holding the DJ Global Index, in terms of future expectation at any given moment, which should be modulated by some XMR-specific risk factor. I covet your enthusiasm currently. I am discouraged by the deflating XMR/BTC status. S.O.P. for Monero. Look at what just happened. Early August, XMR lost about a third of its value in less than a week. Bet you were discouraged then, too. Guess what? Super bear trap. Immediately the xmr/btc exchange rate proceeded to triple in a matter of days. Don't let Composite Man psych you out. Feel like selling? May be your chance to buy. I get pretty annoyed myself at the way the price seems to move with the deliberate attention of faking you out or just pissing you off totally. Yeah, it goes down like a lead balloon at times. Look at what happens if you hold on, though.

I hope IOTA would hire a Wallet Developer instead of all those marketing guys. I understand marketing is important but we also want to see progress on the tech site. It is not that IOTA is not considered Alpha anymore with all these snapshots and wallet transitions. No moon without a stable and reliable network.
Same to me! Really want to see workable wallet! Hope it will come soon )) whats the prob with the current wallet. its working fine for me. The current wallet works, but some people can't get their coins because there was one transition that was particularly complicated. If you merely ignored your wallet for a couple of weeks at the wrong time, or didn't understand the urgency of that migration, you would now be unable to access your coins. This is a coin not ready for general use. We still have the coordinator running the show. It's really an alpha project for computer/crypto enthusiast who can navigate such complexities without getting tangled up in their own shoelaces, to coin a phrase.

I have some Giotas that I've been holding and now it looks like it's going to be very difficult to sell them. Bitfinex is out, because I'm in the U.S. The slack trading channel is dead. I once did a trade with escrow through the bitcointalk iota trading thread but that thread is now dead too. YDX requires an invite. Where does a guy go to trade? I'm not going to use a vpn and lie to bitfinex.

I'm selling up to 10 Giota. escrow only.

Monero is one of my alltime favourite altcoins after I learnt more about it. I am god damn BULLISH about in long term. It will do 10x easily, but in long term as I said. Anonymity worths gold silver even platinium in this world.
Amen. I smell incense. Is that plainsong I hear in the background?

What's wrong with just using Mycelium's 12 word seed as a backup? That is what it is designed for... Why do you want to use the xprv as your backup? The 12 word seed is much easier to write down and type back in should you ever need to restore your wallet... plus, it backs up ALL the different HD "accounts" within Mycelium (if you have created multiple accounts)... Simply click the "3 dot" menu and select backup. This isn't about backups, it's about how to split coins. If there's a fork, you have to import the private keys into a wallet that supports the forked coin. There are ancillary issues such as replay attacks, but that's not what we're talking about here. If the wallet for the forked coin has full HD functionality, then maybe you could fork your coins by doing a wallet restore on the forkcoin wallet. I haven't seen that, but then I haven't seen everything.

P.S. the secular gold bull, dollar bear is looming again.
Off Topic: I've been thinking of getting into gold, but due to lifestyle considerations, holding the physical metal isn't practical for me. Would it be better to go with an ETF like GLD, or go with a custodian of the metal, such as Vaultoro? On topic: it would be nice to see trolling in the code base strangled in the crib by reviewers.
+1 Fluffernutter started it. Let's put an end to it.

copy paste from withdrawal page AYHB7YV 09-16-17 04:35:24 +0000 Wire Transfer $17,445.06 $5.00 Cancel Requested I opened a ticket but of course the response was the usual boilerplate. Not one jot or tittle of substantive information. They just said you'll have to wait. Not one syllable more than that. I just sent a reply
I am going to file a complaint with the Commodities Futures Trading Commission. You have until the end of September to return the money, or give me a straight answer.
