1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: October 06, 2019, 11:11:49 PM
We just don't know what will happen in the future since no one can predict it. I only hold alts that have a working product and maybe this choice of mine will be justified once crypto markets went bullish again. Also, it is highly unlikely that no alt season will ever arrive, and if its true, then there is no point in developing blockchain  innovations needed by most industries in order to grow right now.

I think you misunderstood me. By "alt season" I mean a big market boom like 2017. I don't think that's gonna happen. There are so many worthless coins and tokens, and smart people with money have hopefully learned the lesson so I doubt there will be trillions of dollars available to lift the whole market.

But innovation can still happen. Some coins will do well. Except 99% of us have no chance of guessing which ones. Even if they have a working product - usually there is like 3 or 4 or 15 competitors. So whatever bags you're holding - they're not going "bullish".

A new alt season much bigger that the one in 2017 could happen but I think this will  only be experienced  by those projects that hast demonstrated resilience and has very good fundamentals, unlike in 2017 that even a shitcoin can achieved a ridiculous market cap.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dealing with cryptocurrency (in my country) isn't easy as I thought on: October 06, 2019, 02:18:54 PM

I'm glad that you've shared your crypto experience in Turkey where it seems a different story from yours. Maybe its best to cash out crypto earnings in Turkey through other payment channels and not through banks since they may be  tightly regulated by the Government and could  be forced to act upon your bank account especially if there was a directive from your Government to freeze any crypto related account which is absolutely disappointing.!
It's a good alarmed for people who's going to travel to that country and try to use cryptocurrency, with this information it will be much easier for people to convert their crypto into other form of services, if the banks have direct orders from the government there's no chance to bypass such rulings.
We can't force them to believe since it's still needed to have more exposures and more adoptions before every country acknowledge the full functions and usage of this industry.

Moreover, I guess not only banks are being restricted with regulations but also some other big payment channels such as remittance shops as in the case in most countries. Maybe you could try other payment channels that are less regulated and has no strict requirements to its customers.

There is no point in selling altcoins when their value went down over 95 percent and we could do nothin about it but hope for the best and pray for the next alt season to come! Well, I can say its totally normal to have frustrations but I guess most of the crypto community  believe on these two famous expressions that says "hope springs eternal" and "it aint over till it over!"  Smiley

It's better to get 5% out of it than 4% or 2% or 0. There isn't going to be "alt season" for all current garbage that's out there. Some alts may rise but you don't know which. Likely some new promising tech that may not even exist today. The only known fact is that BTC will still be there.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dealing with cryptocurrency (in my country) isn't easy as I thought on: October 05, 2019, 01:43:38 PM
Today, while I was surfing through the forum, I came across a post in which someone complained about bitcointalk.org not loading in Turkey. Under his post were several replies that explained that the site happens to be blocked by some internet service providers (which is sad).
A few days ago, I made a post in which I asked "What have you done to promote the Blockchain technology & cryptocurrencies?".
I went through several replies which were pleasing and supportive to the Blockchain technology. Amongst them, someone said that he wore bitcoin shirts around (an ideology I really admire). Another said that he created a facebook page (also interesting).
Just recently, I saw a complain from someone in my country. According to the screenshot which contained a mail from his bank, it said that his bank account has been frozen because they found out that it has something to do with virtual trading (cryptocurrency). Not only was I surprised, I was provoked. You know, one of my plans was to buy numerous Bitcoin and Ethereum polo shirt and wear them (to help promote). However, as it stands right now, I'm afraid I can't do that because I could be held as a user of cryptocurrency. Though this isn't any easy, I'll still keep trying what I can to spread the word. The Blockchain technology gospel must be heard!!!

Firstly, bitcointalk.org can be loading and reachable in Turkey. We can not reach bitcointalk just when we are using mobile data. It is not good but it is not forbidden. I think there is a misunderstanding here but no one is trying to solve it. Some of Turkish community member send mail to authorities but they didn't solve it also.

And about account frozen. I trade, deposit and withdraw always in Turkey from 2015. But I never had an any trouble like that. I think there may be another mistake here. I don't think it is about BTC trading.

I'm glad that you've shared your crypto experience in Turkey where it seems a different story from yours. This is very unfortunate! Some Governments are anti-crypto and would exert efforts to prevent it or discourage it from its own citizens but eventually, they will reconsider it once mass adoption becomes full blown and other foreign Governments adopts it.

I suggest that if some of you can't access  this forum due to some censorship ion your country, you can try to use VPN or TOR so that it will give you more privacy and less fear from Government interventions.

Its not the government which is preventing access to the websites in this case. Turkey's government aren't the bad guys here instead its the internet providers of Turkey who are restricting access to social media and Cryptocurrency related websites. This should not be used as a anti government movement as its not the government enforcing these restrictions on the Turkish population.

Technically, its the internet providers that restricts access to social media sites but why they did it? Do they don't want to give good services to their customers and want more subscribers? Its very ironic, because if you are a  company providing service to masses, then you will do your best to be successful in that field just  like in the case of providers - an uncensored internet access! but not unless they were constrained also by Government restrictions, just like China does.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not use Exchange instead of Mixer? on: October 03, 2019, 05:11:28 PM
So, Mixers provide service of shuffling bitcoins or provide addresses loaded with bitcoins along with private keys. In short, they provide service so to create anonymity between sender's and receiver's address so that no one can trace the transaction.
My question is why not use Exchanges? When we deposit funds on exchange, bitcoins get deposited on exchange's cold wallet. But when we withdraw funds, withdraw gets processed from exchange's hot wallet. So in short, it is very easy to do anonymous transfer by depositing funds on exchange and withdrawing to other addresses. Why to pay 1-3% fees on Mixers when it could be done for much less on Exchanges. Exchanges like Binance charge just 0.0005 BTC to process withdrawals.

Choosing between exchanges and mixers depends on your needs such as the level of anonymity you prefer.  If you were just an ordinary crypto enthusiast who is not privacy centric and doesn't a need to hide any crypto transaction you might have, then you can choose the service of an exchange, otherwise, you need to use the services of Bitcoin mixers.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative, DAO ANDROID APP STORE, DApps, on ETH blockchain, STO + DEX Exchange on: October 01, 2019, 01:45:48 PM
This is a bit interesting alternative project that compete head on with giants with the likes of Google and Apple. Can you give us some kind of infographic about your app store e.g. number of apps listed and total registered users and maybe monthly revenue if possible to give us a better overview of this project.

Hello. The indicators are small, since while there was no launch of the marketing plan, for which the funds were raised, the platform is being finalized and ways of making money are approved, in addition to the STO platform, which will soon be put into functional expectations, due to regulatory uncertainties in the laws of the countries.
About 4200+ applications are now uploaded to https://playmarket.io/ and more than 5000+ games will be added soon, for the initial assortment. We are in the process of negotiating and attracting game and application developers to fully integrate their sales on the platform, both in cryptocurrency and, possibly, in fiat.
Dividends were received from the first game of CryptoDuel, in the form of CDLT tokens and dividends in Ethereum, from the financial turnover of this game.
Registered several thousand users, installations of the Android application platform.

Thanks for pointing this out! by the way, do you have a mini roadmap to visualize your plans and strategies more clearly and will guide us to better understand your development activities and also maybe you could provide the community with visuals such as tutorials on how to use your platform and its technology?

Hi. All code is publicly available and lies on GitHub https://github.com/CryptonStudio along with implementation guidelines https://github.com/CryptonStudio/PlayMarket-2.0-Contracts/wiki/Documentation

The roadmap has been completed, technical improvements are being made to the platform and its functionality, and as it works as it should, you can use it and sell your applications.

Glad for this update! So it seems the platform is by far ready and  operational that I would assume you have plans and marketing strategies that could increase the platform's traffic. Right?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: David Marcus, Coinbase CEO show supports for Facebook Libra on: September 29, 2019, 03:08:27 PM
Coinbase CEO's opinion on the Libra cryptocurrency doesn't really matter and will have no effect or any way influence most members of the crypto community's stance - and that is to shy away from Libra as possibly as they could! Moreover, maybe he did announced his support to Facebook's Libra only to please Mark Zuckerberg since we may not know if he has any other hidden agenda being a businessman himself. Grin
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Doing This? on: September 27, 2019, 11:49:49 PM
It is a good move to delegate someone you trust most e.g. family members, to have access to your digital assets as a contingency plan once something bad happens to us! Just put your sensitive files and keys to a reliable password manager and hand over the password to your trustee and set the conditions forth on accessing it.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Track your crypto portfolio using excel easy! on: September 26, 2019, 01:15:46 PM
Why not to use Blackfolio or any other application that tracks your investment in real time? It works great, is accessible on mobile devices and is much easier to interact with. I do not see any point in using excel instead of a regular app.

Blockfolio is indeed a great app to track your crypto portfolio but I would like  to mention also the Delta app as an alternative which I personally prefer because it has its own unique features which I find attractive - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.getdelta.android&hl=en  . These two apps should suffice our own crypto portfolio tracking needs and its up to us what we will choose.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is going on in the markets on: September 25, 2019, 11:47:35 PM

I noticed that after the BTC went up in the early of 2018 dropped to $3000 at the end of the year i am afraid that may happen this year and price drop to around $3000
According to technical analysis, the price of BTC will sure drop around $7000 soon.
I understand technical analysis may not work well in this market.
Do you agree with this?

Technical analysis is a beautiful fantasy. It's a prediction which is as good as any other (or, like mjglqw says, and then there's a special value of it but not in terms of predictions) but is covered in a sophisticated convincing form. What makes it different from other ways of predicting the prices, though, is that since many people believe in TA and act according to its predictions as well as share them with other people, it can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. You know, like spreading FUD leads to prices going down, but in a way more serious than that. Anyway, the current price drop is significant, that's true, but it does not mean that we won't see Bitcoin around $10k in a couple of days.

This scenario of high crypto volatility is getting more natural to us that in the longer time, the community will be used to it consequently. I hope some new comers in the crypto scene will not panicked in these kinds of market activity but I'm pretty sure crypto markets will have a good rebound eventually.

I dont have the news lately for this project but I was glad it was still active. Btw, could the team list important milestones in development since its inception so that the community will be informed more about this project?
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is going on in the markets on: September 25, 2019, 02:13:18 PM
We are now experiencing a period where technical analysis does't fully guarantee a more successful trade by the fact that crypto volatility isn't as predictable as compared before and expectations are almost identical to wild guess! Now I wonder if there is a force hidden behind all these developments?  I though hope its not the work of market manipulators? Shocked
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am very Pro Dogecoin – Says Ethereum Co-founder, Vitalik Buterin on: September 25, 2019, 12:00:41 AM
Its not surprising that DOGE being one of the earliest crypto to emerged has a broad number of supporters including people with influence among the community including Vitalik Buterin! Also, we cannot deny that DOGE did make a significant contribution on cryptocurrency exposure and adoption that is why its so popular up to now!
19  Economy / Economics / Re: The Latest Crypto Price Dip Is Fueled By Fake News Relating to Quantum Computers on: September 24, 2019, 11:53:07 PM
Nothing comes new with crypto market's highly volatile nature, in which a little bit of fomo and fud are all but regular occurrences. This is part of a speculative environment that some people correlating it with the news about quantum computers to spread misinformation seems naive that they often react even to a minor fluctuation of crypto price. So I guess we must be accustomed to it.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hold on to patience even when it feels like wearing off on: September 23, 2019, 11:43:41 PM
It seems almost everybody were disappointed by the recent cryptocurrency market slowdown which is very frustrating. Nevertheless, I think it would be helpful if we could take some time off to attend some of the things we like to do and enjoy life and  be productive so that it could lessen the stress in waiting for the market to recover.
