Was anyone truly foolish enough to ever turn them off?
922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People acting like pooler? Selling Litecoinpool.org accounts? on: March 06, 2013, 10:21:51 PM
Didn't Pooler stop registrations so that the pool did not run over 51% of the total network?

This should no longer be the concern that it was so perhaps Pooler will grow the user base on his pool.

yes , and in doing so, has encouraged another pool to >51%.

Irony
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC / LTC Does this mean LTC is also stronger than fiat? on: March 06, 2013, 10:19:12 PM
there are 300-400 trillion USD is existence (at the minimum)

~15 million LTC currently.

One is infinite the other is not.

quite simple logic would dictate finite crypto>fiat

Ending this Auction Early as I noticed the URL on the card is

http://www.amd.com/dirt3promo

and Is throwing a 404 . I used one few months ago with no problems so maybe its just a error.(it's a steam code anyway so shouldn't be a problem).  Planning on listing more steam codes for LTC here so will be sending code to Vorsholk before payment in good faith.

Vorksholk, please check your pm!

Keep an eye out for more LTC game auctions

936  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [488 GH/s] EMC: 0 Fee/DGM/Merged Mining/PayPal Payout/SMS/Yubikey/More on: January 30, 2012, 02:09:35 AM
I actually had a white list IP thing in place back when the pool first started, meant to somewhat mitigate DDoS attacks, but it didn't really work out for some reason.  I think instead of charging by the IP, maybe increasing by lack of efficiency would be a better solution.  If someone is requesting 10 getworks and only returning 2 of them, that's kind of a problem... whereas if you have 100 miners and request 200 getworks and return 180 of them, that's much more acceptable.

Interesting, clever idea.

I reported this via PM here; I don't think I have your email address.  I am locked out of my account, having never enabled Google Auth or in fact ever having heard of it until coming here and reading the above after finding myself locked out with a "Google Authentication Failed" message.

939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL Going under 10 Thash because of Irene Vote now! on: August 28, 2011, 03:19:41 AM
Geez - if I was like you guys, ie> in the path, I would shut down mining as soon as the winds pickup - sometimes when power goes out it will trip on and off 10 or 20 times quick, very bad for computers running at max - even with surge protectors!

That reminds me of the importance of UPS.

Ya very true. I always saved those for lights and small items (never try to run a coffee maker off them ), well unless it can handle 10 amps

Contrary to what people think the storm actually is not that bad anymore, it hasn't hit me yet, but the fastest wind speeds being recorded by noaa are 40knts on the water. This is the area the speeds will be fastest, and it is not even windy near me yet(new england). So, I'll mine untill I feel the need to shut off my computer and move it away from the window. Tongue

lol winds? what about 22 inches of rain in 6 hours....
