Hi,
I know it might not be in your best interest to support older hardware but i am having troubles getting my i7 960 to mine. I can get the miner running showing hash rate but no yay's are coming through. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
depending on the pool, and their difficulty, might be very rare to see a yay! on older hardware. Even on 2-3mh+ machines sometimes you don't see one for a few minutes. Also I think difficulty adjusts on the one pool so if you put a bunch of pcs on one worker you'll see even less. It's in everyone's interest to have as many miners as possible. You are running fine now?

Hi, Regarding to the Linux miner I've just found out that my last day work was a little useless because tandyuk in his repository already merged the relevant changes to a different branch that works also with datacoin. Source is here: https://github.com/tandyuk/jhPrimeminer/tree/mumu-v8Building instructions can be found also there. (This version doesn't requires the "-getwork" parameter) There are still problems with solo mining on the Linux builds in general because of some communication problems with the wallet. Each request to the wallet takes at least 2 sec and the connection is not closed correctly as a result the miner doesn't gets the new block notification in time and also may result in crashing the wallet. I'm working on fixing this issue. -M Thanks mumus!

Any chance you could post the source so we can compile ourselves and avoid malware? Curious why your exe is over twice the size as default client. If this is legit thanks for your effort!
Source was posted on the first page of this thread: Source: https://github.com/foo1inge/datacoin-hpYes it is 'legit' It's twice the size because its optimized standalone. Also, this client has little use with the newly released external miner, please see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=364205.0

So is it working now? And now you cant complain no one helps! Now go get some diamonds - a girls best friend!
True, but i'm just 'afraid' this coin is going to die and my miner is not getting out my investment hehe, after all i mine to make a bit of profit (beside having fun learning more and more) But still, the main website is down and the coin isn't back on Cryptsy greater the risks greater the reward. It will go back on crypsy when that fork is dead, any sooner could have someone making withdraw to forked wallet or deposit form the fork and losing coins. anyway when its off exchange there is no way to calculate profitability so hashrate will be lower.

Good luck trying to get cards. Already at 4mgh's.... I'm good for now. yup just pick up some cheap PoS coins for the coming scrypt ASIC bloodbath , more fun to mine 10 mins every 5-10 days on a cheap laptop, less heat.

My new wallet cannot sync, after 6 hours it says: Checkpoint is too old, wait for blockchain to download or notify developers.
Exit wallet, reload, it will start to sync again. Click Help > Debug Window and check the Current number of blocks. If it gets stuck, reload and try again. Finally got it synced. -edit weird tho, having a problem keeping wallet in sync. It's like when a new block is solved, wallet falls out of sync, fails to download new block and then has a hard time keeping up. this is because the fork out there is still longer, will resolve eventually! this is normal behavior and it appears the wallet has finally synced, and shows green check - getmininginfo { "blocks" : 198229, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 0.27921929, "errors" : "WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. My new wallet cannot sync, after 6 hours it says: Checkpoint is too old, wait for blockchain to download or notify developers.
I need to clarify this a little, in windows the wallet will always show the spinning icon and appear NOT in sync, this is because the fork is still out there and this chain is actually shorter for now. When this correct chain overcomes the fork, it will show synced! You can actually solo mine and make blocks no problem!
you can do a getinfo in the console to compare to a DMD pool current block to see if you are on correct chain (forkfix clients forces this!)

Im using your i3i5i7_Improved2.zip. It crashes on launch on my Macbook via Bootcamp. It has i5-2415M CPU on 64-Bit Win 7 My hash did increase by 10 khash/s on each thread on my i5 2500k PC though EDIT: I'm using win64_all_improved.zip and it works Thanks for the info, I will try to put up win64_allimproved2 version does the i3i5i7 older improved (not 2) work on the macbook? I just tried i3i5i7 older improved and it crashes as well. Only win64_all_improved works so far. thanks will put out a new win_all Added new win_all version 2 should increase speed for those running on the earlier version.

I think what Hazard meant was that real diamonds aren't actually worth squat but you're free to pay for them what you want and many people indeed do. DMD was delisted from Cryptsy... Probably a good idea to stay away for the time being at least (although if you feel like gambling there may be some cheap DMD relative to recent prices should Cryptsy relist it). About as worth it as real world diamonds, if you know what I mean.
I don't know whether it will ever be worth as real world diamonds, but it used to be priced at around 1 cent (in USD fiat) and it's now at 80, even after correcting after the recent frenzy in all cryptos. That's not a bad gain at all! Hopefully with the recent takeover, it'll be able to establish itself as a serious alt competitor. Then, it'll be worth many dollars (or BTC!) soon. Its a temp delist because it was badly forked, was resolved earlier but everyone will need to upgrade to get off the dead fork https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=255806.msg3912979#msg3912979

Ppl stay tuned. All pools will be online very soon!

Updated to forkfix!: https://github.com/palmd/diamondcoin
Forkfix win client (must download new chain to use!) https://sourceforge.net/projects/philosopherstone/files/DMD/Instructions for new forkfix client: (Windows) Make sure to clear directory of old chain, peers, everything except wallet and .conf file. Start new client and allow to DL chain (client will show syncing until it is past the fork, this may take DAYS, but will accept solo mining and can make blocks!) then solo mine done. Make sure to delete old blockchain files (except wallet and .conf) or you will end up on dead forkDMD!= dMUWewcXaqqA3bPnKA4ch6u8gmxTv3kZtk

Can some decent dev take over this coin. DMD was a great coin once and the name is awesome. This coin needs some decent development.
It's been tried before but no one wanted to donate, vps and other odds and ends to do it properly costs btc&time.
