I read that Bitfinex has some mechanism to stop crashes going down too fast. Maybe the bug is related to that.

I'm wondering how low it will go.

You guys think we'll see a small rebound?
$280 perhaps?
Someone just brought 655 coins in one go on stamp, so maybe

Where the fuck do all these bitcoins come from that are getting dumped? Is the Bitstamp hacker dumping?
what exchanges have a stop loss feature? seems dangerous with whales and a thin market.
Why are people even trading btc? Either because they want fiat money or to increase their bitcoin stash
OMFG this is pure Panic. They are dumping like lunatics on Stamp
Edit: OMFG 427btc dump
I just saw a 443 dump!

Definitely headed under 225, maybe 200 is the bottom? Disillusioned with the fruits of financial revolution, Bitcoiners find solace in abstract art. Are you a bitcoiner?

It's falling. Panic selling and now a rebound.
How do you know the rebound is not a dead cat bounce?
Could a good TA expert tell us what the price is going to do?
What the hell is happening?
I wa wondering that too. Have the feds announced another auction or did something important happen at the trial?
People arent sure if the price is cheap or expensive at this point, so undecisive.........
People are waiting the outcome from tomorrow's trial What trial? Dunno, prob'ly DPR or some other Bitcoin criminal. There is a whole thread about the Ross (Dread Pirate Roberts) Ulbricht Trial, but it's a few pages back now. All the active threads seem to have been discussing Bitstamp lately. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=918558.0

If you use IE because you feel its the superior browser (something even MS doesnt beleive) you know nothing about IT => you cant possibly understand bitcoin and blockchain => shut up.
Who is using IE? And I will say if you use IE it doesn't actually mean you know nothing, I know a couple people who use it and are very intelligent. I bet Bill Gates uses it and he's not a retard.

If the news author's exact quote is correct, then Gavin did use the word "dangerous" to describe Bitcoin. If Gavin didn't mean this, then he should learn to choose his words more carefully.
Jornalists like to create drama. I think Gavin was referring to bitcoin being "dangerous" for ordinary people who are not comfortable with computers. We know how easy it is for new users to loose coins to hackers and scams. may be, it makes sense. It is certainly very easy to lose bitcoins when there is no good familiarity with computers and internet There are still people who have never used a computer in their lives. I have had to walk people through opening an email account. These are the types of people he was probably referring to. The journalists probably needed to fill some space due tio lack of news, so came up with a sensationalist misleading headline. All Gavin appears to be saying is if you are not computer literate enough to know what a firewall is then don't use bitcoin. He could have added that the same type of people would be well advised to avoid using credit cards, online banking and anything related to finance until they have learned about basic computer security.

Small wall of 700 coins trying to hold 270 on finex.
And it is gone. Hope we keep up 270 in the mid week And it's up to 272.5 on finex.

well, you were laughing at the "bearwhale" and his 30 k, but now I think it is clear what was his agenda: to destroy producers of asics and centralized mining centers. this is only the beginning. prepare for 100 $ coins.
His "agenda" was simply to GTFO and take his 9-10 million dollars out of this free falling mess. He waited too long to dump then, he could have got 20 million dollars or more if he dumped earlier.

I think the OP actually meant was "Buy Now AND Cry Later".
He posted a graph when the price was above $315 and he said it could only go up from there. And here we are, looking at $267 and still the downward trend continues.
I am willing to buy, but I hope for still lower prices.
Today's current Bitstamp low was about $262. Anybody that brought at the time of the OP will be crying now. Is the bottom in is anyone's guess.

While OKcoin was flatlining their price was way lower than everywhere else. It's strange arbitrage bots did not take advantage and even out the prices between all exchangs. The price fell on all the other exchanges but none of them went anywhere near as low as OKcoin.
It was strange, from 16:00 to 04:00 there was almost no volume. Since then things have picked up, but I cannot work out why it was flatlining for so long.

Since I'm new to this, how am I supposed to sell hundreds of thousands of this coin at its peak?
You just click the exchange's sell button and dump the price all the way down to one sat.
