61  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2015, 09:24:45 AM
Volume on finex is superrr low, 6-15 bitcoins on 15min charts. Makes me wonder what is to come.

The volume on all the exchanges is down to almost nothing. Everyone's waiting to see what everyone else is going to do. The last time we had decent volume was a few days ago. If it's the quiet before the storm we might get big buys or sells soon.
62  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitaddress.org on: May 27, 2015, 01:32:07 PM
Would you trust that encryption to protect your coins?  Basically if you had 1000 BTC on the paper wallet and a +20 char passphrase should one be confident that crackin your actual private key is not possible?

I'm slow to change. If it stands the test of time and gets adopted by a large user bae then I might consider using it. Until then I'll wait to find out how well it works for other people.

....."The community, has responded positively to his new and calmer approach — and have asked him to go ahead with the fork”
........

I'm sure one section of the community asked him to go ahead, but I'm also sure another section will continue to vocally demand he does not go ahead. I don't believe the whole community will ever reach consensus over the idea, and yes, the debate is probably damaging Bitcoin.

How much did you get for raising your cellphone to capture the money? If there was enough money involved it could get like the new year sales with people fighting each other for the bargains.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Been sideways for a week now. Spent 4 days in the bush without internet access and didn't miss a thing.

Ho hum. Time to grind some more beans.

You missed a huge exciting pump from $232 to £234. As soon as you take your eye off the ball something interesting happens. There is now hot debate about whether we will go up another dollar, or back down another dollar.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: P7 coin Takeover on: May 11, 2015, 09:18:03 PM
Power7 lottery concept

Power7 lottery will be like all the famous real world lottery that we all know. One of the best is PowerBall in USA. To participate, people will need to buy a ticket using P7coins for the next draw (about 2 weeks between each). The lottery will consist of a prize with 98% of collected P7 coins, donations coins and probably 1000 mhs for a week on a coin decided by the community through a poll. Me and my friend will mined the coins because where we live, we dont pay electricity (school residence). 2% of P7 gonna be used for further developpment and promotions. Let me know what you think.

How will you decide the winner of each lottery?
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you buy a closed source crypto? on: April 09, 2015, 06:21:01 PM
I brought some Qora when it was closed source because the dev said it would eventually be open sourced. I would not buy one that would always be closed source.

Stellar has build a new consensus algorithm:
https://www.stellar.org/galaxy/

It seems that it isn't any more a fork of ripple.

http://www.wired.com/2015/04/stanford-prof-builds-algorithm-internet-money/

With his algorithm—dubbed federated byzantine agreement—Mazières builds trust in a very different way. In short, he knits together a large trusted network from smaller trusted networks. In joining the network, you connect to people you know and trust. They, in turn, connect to machines they trust. And so on. If the system can show that none of the small quorums are separated from the rest, then we can all trust the larger whole. “As an individual, I choose users that I can trust and those users do the same,” Boneh explains. “If we can achieve that combinatorial property, we can achieve consensus.”

http://www.wired.com/2015/04/stanford-prof-builds-algorithm-internet-money/

Sounds like bullshit!

Yeah...  We'll see.  The new protocol goes online soon.

Just because a professor built it does not mean it will work well. Professor Bitcorn is a professor but his prediction of bitcoin's price was hopelessly wrong.
69  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish TA on: April 09, 2015, 06:06:56 PM
So in your opinion double digits are possible and bear market will continue for another 3+ months? Not impossible, just unlikely. Final flash crash and recovery to atleast current levels seems more like bitcoin.

Lol.  Don't rule anything out.  A lot of people thought going > 600 was "impossible".  Then > 500.. then > 300.

I honestly thought it wouldn't go below 200, but it did.  Although it recovered.  Right now I got buy orders at 170 - 180.  Grin

I thought it had bottomed out at 300 and all I had to do was hodl and wait for the price to go up. I couldn't believe how fast it went down to 150 after Christmas. I'm not ruling anything out anymore.

Monkey has revised his estimate for the turn to tomorrow, and his support number is now 236.  Intraday, should rise a bit over the next 3 hours.

Monkey want it to go up from now on, with resistance at 276, 378.  If not, the next support is 182, 126.

Don't most people here want it to go up from now on? Cheesy

Cargo Cult TA© report.

After the last sell signal @267 it has been getting close to a buy the last several hours.  Although this doesn't mean it will become one I bought anyway @246.  Part of the reason is that I haven't had much time.  I had a short work day today, only 10 hrs Tongue  Let's see if I go 5 for 5

While I was sleeping the buy signal happened and when I woke up it was at 252.  Looks like 5 for 5 Smiley

If only I would have figured this out long time ago.  Almost no thought required Tongue

I sometimes wake up and find its a good time to buy when I'm still half asleep, but by the time I have fully woken it's too late. It's difficult making good decisions while half asleep.

72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: March 19, 2015, 01:55:08 AM
How do we know you won't dump the massive percentage of AMPs you claim you intend to hold onto?
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 19, 2015, 01:48:18 AM
This is ridiculous.
There are some weak mother fuckers around reacting to bad news & a sell off.
I'm expecting to wake up tomorrow & see 230 USD.
Embarrassing.

Whats the bad news?  I haven't been following anything today

hectic work day
Well, the latest drug market place BTC scam.
I don't know the exact number but I think 40,000 odd coins scammed & stolen.
Presumably them being dumped caused this avalanche.

EuroTrash says 130k BTC were stolen.

74  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 19, 2015, 01:44:40 AM
Usually Litecoin sees an immediate bump when BTC dumps.  Not today.

The writing is on the wall for LTC. It's failing.

Some of it was no doubt diverted into that dirty XPY pump

That was weird, Bitcoin and everything else crashed except XPY. Do you think the pump was fake?
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Altcoin called Virtacoin (formerly VirtaPay) launched on: March 19, 2015, 01:41:29 AM
It's not doing too well, it only had $16 worth of volume today.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to Brock Pierce's Realcoin? on: March 06, 2015, 10:59:01 AM
There's an article about it at coindesk.

77  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Xapo a scam?? on: February 20, 2015, 10:42:47 AM
i used them last 2 days..
i am a new member but now everthing work perfectly..
it's not a scam...

i am NOT saying it is a scam i really want for Xapo to be a good inovative product cause i so badly want a bitcoin debit card that has my name printed on it and that it can be a visa or mastercard. I almost forgot with the feauture to where it only sells the amount of bitcoin to cover fiat transaction in real time and not some crappy pre load limits. With that said it does not help when you say " i am new but not a scam lol " just saying  Wink

Are there any bitcoin debit cards that are definitely 100% certain reliable and not a scam? They are a good idea but I seem to see complaints about them all.
78  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: We dont have enough decimal places. on: February 20, 2015, 10:38:43 AM
21,000,000 * 100,000,000 = 2,100,000,000,000,000 Satoshis

This isn't enough for a global currency.

They can add more if necesserray. If 1 satoshi = 1 cent 1 BTC = 2.1millions $

That's a good point. How long until 1 BTC = $2.1millions ? I don't think a bitcoin will be worth that much for quite a long time.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First 2-way Bitcoin ATM in Poland was just set! on: February 20, 2015, 10:33:23 AM
There were two ATMs recently stolen. Can the thieves get bitcoins stored in an ATM or can they only get he money?

How will you prevent people from defaulting on loans from the loaning service? What if they don't pay the loan back?
